Double Trouble

Prologue
The stars shone brightly, Amy leaned back And wondered whether or not
she
would be having this incredibly romantic moment, had she not taken Lita's
advice several months ago. Amy snuggled up to Greg, who sat on the blanket
beside her and gazed into his large brown eyes. Greg smiled back at her and
she, contented and happy, turned back to the stars.
"Oh look Greg! A shooting star! Quick! Make a wish!"
"I don't need to, I already have the best girlfriend a guy could wish
for."
Amy's smile widened and she blushed.
A little while later Greg realized that Amy was no longer gazing at the
beautiful stars but sleeping. She was nestled neatly in his arms and he
gazed at his princess.
"She's so beautiful," he thought to himself, "I'm so lucky!" Greg
brushed a
wisp of Amy's bright blue hair out of her face. He leaned over and kissed
her
forehead.
* * *
"Ken, you never cease to amaze me!" said Lita as Ken opened the door to
the
spare bedroom where she'd spent the night. Ken was carrying a plate of food,
there was a poached egg, two strips of bacon and a piece of parsley for
effect.
In the other hand, he carried a glass of milk. Ken set the plate on Lita's
lap
and sat down beside her, on the bed.
"You're sick, relax." replied Ken.
"You know I'm not sick! I've never been sick a day of my life!"
"Stop it!" Ken's tone betrayed his emotions. "Lita, I'm worried about
you,
you need to take it easy. I don't want to see you get hurt!"
"All right, but first I want to see what state the kitchen's in!"
replied
Lita in a playful voice.
"You really should rest." said Ken, almost too hastily.
"Same old Ken!" Smiling, Lita ran her fingers through his thick brown
hair.
* * *
Mina sat in her room gazing at the picture of a young man that she held
in
her hand. He had bright red hair and deep green eyes.
"Well Jeff, you'll be able to meet my friends soon."
"Mina, who are you talking to?" asked Artemis as he walked into the
room.
"No one," she replied, "but guess what? Jeff's family is moving to
Tokyo
from Paris! Isn't that great?!"
"Yeah great." said Artemis sarcastically. "Oh no!" he groaned after
leaving the room, "Not that crazy kid! Grmph…." He mumbled as he left the
room.
"I can't believe I'm finally going to see him again! I can introduce
him
to Serena and the others! This'll be great!" though Mina. She slowly rose
from her bed and began to dress for her meeting at Raye's temple. Mina
pulled
on a pair of jeans and a white T-shirt. She pulled her hair half up like
she always did and grabbed a jacket on her way out the door.
"See ya Mom!" she called.
* * *
Raye stopped sweeping the ground for a moment to watch Chad saunter
past.
Lately she'd been having this weird feeling come over her whenever he was
around. Kind of like her crush on Darien but more intense. Raye shook
herself out of her trance and continued sweeping.
Raye, she told herself, 'you have to finish sweeping before
the others
get here!
After she had finished sweeping Raye went to her room. She changed into
shorts and a T-shirt. Raye didn't really feel like sparring today, but Lita
had insisted they practice the day before and Raye figured it couldn't hurt.
Chad stood outside Raye's room, debating whether or not to ask her to the
dance at his school. He was dying to go but didn't know if he had the guts
to ask Raye. Raye opened the door to her room and Chad took off like a
shot.
Sad, strange little man, thought Raye, shaking her head.
* * *
Serena approached Rae's temple, she could see Amy and Mina climbing the
steps and ran to catch up with them.
"Hey guys!" called Raye as the trio reached the temple. "Where's Lita?"
"Ken called me this morning, she's sick. She'd stayed at his house last
night." replied Amy.
"Yeah right," replied Serena, "Lita's doesn't get sick!"
"She's got the flu!" Fever and all." countered Amy.
"Well let's forget that and start practicing." said Luna as she and
Artemis approached the scouts.
Meanwhile, Darien sat in his apartment eating sushi and watching the
latest
episode of Sailor V. Suddenly, the phone rang and he picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Darien, hi! It's Serena. I was wondering if you wanted to go to a
movie
or something?"
"Um….sure, what do you want to see?"
"How 'bout that new thriller? What's it called….Black hole?"
"Okay, sure, see you at eight?"
"Yup!"
"Bye Meatball head."
"See ya Muffin!" That's strange, Serena doesn't like thrillers,
thought
Darien after they'd hung up. Oh well, she probably just wants an excuse
to
hang onto my arm.
* * *
Ken entered the spare bedroom and checked Lita's temperature. "Man," he
mumbled to himself, "She's running one damn high fever." Lita groaned and
rolled over in bed. Her eyes fluttered, then opened.
"I feel awful, I've got one hell of a headache and I feel like I've been
sleeping in a lava pit. Why do I have to use this blanket? I'm hot." She
stumbled through the words and Ken gently pushed her back down when she
tried
to get up. "I have to go to practice!" cried Lita numbly.
"You're not going anywhere, I've already called Amy and told her that
you
wouldn't be there." Lita smiled weekly then rolled over and went back to
sleep.
* * *
"Okay girls!" called Luna. The scouts all gathered around the cats.
"What we want you to do is put this on over your eyes." said Artemis.
Luna dropped a blind fold on the ground.
"What for?" asked Raye, tying the cloth over her eyes.
"So you can fight if you're blinded." replied Luna.
The girls started the drill. Raye stood in an open area and the scouts
circled around her. Mina was the first to attack. She kicked Raye in the
head and Raye went sprawling on her back.
"Sorry Raye!" she called, trying to stifle a giggle.
"Hey guys!" called Lita. She was standing at the top of the stairs
watching them.
"I thought you were sick!" said Serena.
"I recovered." mumbled Lita.
Lita joined in and Raye got a few more bruises before deciding that she
wanted
someone else to try. Amy volunteered and she put on the cloth. Raye
attacked
her with a variety of punches and kicks which Amy blocked with ease.
"How come you're so good at this?" whined Serena.
"I'm used to fighting in my bubbles." replied Amy. Lita took this
opportunity to drop to her knees and trip Amy, it worked. Amy went
sprawling
onto her back.
"Hey! Not fair! You didn't warm me that we were starting again!" cried
Amy.
"Should have been paying attention." said Lita tossing her ponytail over
her shoulder and taking the blind fold off Amy, she put it on Serena.
* * *
After practice Mina, Amy and Raye were talking in hushed tones when
Serena
bounded over to find out what they were talking about. Lita had left
immediately after Luna declared that practice was over calling out that
"they should all practice more" as she left.
"I think there's something seriously wrong with her. All of a sudden
she's being so rude! Lita may be a little distant at times but she's never
rude, especially to Serena." said Amy quietly, not wanting to upset Serena.
Unfortunately Serena caught the tail end of it.
"What about me?" This launched into a "none of your business" quarrel
between Serena and Raye while Mina, Amy, Luna and Artemis discussed things.

Darien and Serena walked down the street, quietly contemplating the
stars
when suddenly Serena yanked him into a steamy kiss and wouldn't let him up
for
air until his knees were week. She had definitely changed since they'd
broken
up. But when she finally let him up for air he realized, maybe to late, that
the girl he'd been kissing was NOT his Serena.
As Darien looked on in horror he realized that he, without a doubt,
would
not make it out of here without a fight and he knew that he would need all
the
help in the universe....The Sailor Senshi.
