Chapter Four: Sailor Senshi to the Rescue



As the last remaining Shadow senshi faced each other in the eve of battle a brooding storm was forming on the horizon, illuminating the night sky with bolts of electricity. The four Dark Shadow senshi faced their past with no remorse in their eyes, knowing the end had come for the two long before they ever came to this place. The two stood with arrogant smiles and set about taunting the four to attack, "Well, what are you waiting for? We're prepared."

Dark Shadow Mars just stared at the two with his usual cold stare, then let a drawn out sigh escape his lips, "We'll take Neptune, Mercury. Jupiter and Venus, you take Uranus. Let's do this quickly to move onto the Omega Master."

"Sounds good, boss." Dark Shadow Venus quipped and hopped off the rock he was sitting on. Shadow Mars and Dark Shadow Mercury stepped to the side of the others to get some room while he looked at Shadow Uranus with a smirk, "I bet that just made your day, eh Kage?"

"You have no idea." Dark Shadow Jupiter cooed over as he eyed Shadow Uranus with a content smile on his face. Accepting the challenge, the two split up to face off against them, confident that their one against two disadvantage wouldn't be any obstacle in defeating them once and for all.


"Two against one? Not very fair." Shadow Neptune quipped as he looked between Shadow Mars and Shadow Mercury. Shadow Mars stood back a bit from Shadow Mercury and just watched with dark intent. Shadow Mercury stood between him and Shadow Neptune with an estranged look on his face. His eyes looked at Shadow Neptune with an almost remorseful glance it seemed a bit reluctant to battle this out as he was instructed to.

"No matter what the outcome of this, Fukai, you were always my friend. No matter what the others thought of you, I always knew you were one of us. I won't ask you to see the error in your ways.....but just ask you to be at peace when this is over."

"Kurai, you know it will break my heart when you die. Some things aren't meant to be." He quipped back and dropped his hands from his hips to his side. Shadow Mercury merely nodded and suddenly disappeared in a swirl of ice shards. Shadow Neptune's eyes instantly focused on Shadow Mars and the leader of the Shadow senshi burst into flames and disappeared as well. Shadow Neptune stood there confidently and waited for one of them to show themselves again. It was Shadow Mars who did as he appeared right in front of him and extended his arms in an attack. Shadow Neptune oddly found this funny and held his hands out to block it, but the other senshi quickly disappeared once more.

"What the...." Suddenly Shadow Mercury appeared behind him and kicked him square in the back with both of his feet. It sent Shadow Neptune skidding across the ground and ending up ten feet away on his back. With a look of annoyance on his face he looked up to see another figure above him.

"Mars Fire Wall!" Two walls of fire exploded the ground where he was and a massive plume of dust rose up into the air below Shadow Mars. The aura of flames still circled him lightly and he watched the cloud intently for some kind of movement. His expectations were fulfilled as the enraged Shadow senshi came flying out of the dust and headed straight from him.

"This is your end, Yamito!"

Shadow Mars didn't move from the place he floated and just watched him with a light tone in his eyes. Shadow Neptune yelled in anger as he began to use his Thermocline Surge attack when another figure appeared next to him with his hands extended out.

"Mercury Frozen Flash!" A bright surge of blue light filled the air between the two and Shadow Neptune suddenly found himself encased in a block of ice. Although he was still conscious and alive, he was unable to move as he fell back towards the ground. The ice was but a hindrance as he focused his attack once more and yelled out in a muffled voice.

"Thermocline Surge!"

The energy he created shattered the ice around him and suddenly coursed through the air back up at Shadow Mercury. He had barely enough time to watch the attack hit its target before he hit the ground harshly. Shadow Mercury was knocked out of the air by the attack and hit the ground as well, though a good distance from the one who created the attack. Shadow Mars quickly appeared next to him and looked down with a concerned look in his eyes, "Kurai, are you hurt?"

"Only my pride." He replied dryly and rose up to his feet. Shadow Mars looked him over once and then turned around to the sound of laughter. Shadow Mercury also looked over for the source and saw a smiling Shadow Neptune stand from the impact he made in the ground.

"You two are doing well. Even both not fully healed you're managing to not die.......so far."

"We may be hurt, but we still have enough strength to finish the job. You're just not enough for the both of us, Neptune."

A soft smile came over Shadow Neptune's face and he tilted his head a bit while he looked between the two, "Perhaps you're right, I have been kind of soft. This seems like a good time to see if the Omega Master's little experiment worked." Before the two could question him, Shadow Neptune placed one hand up around the collar on his neck and closed his eyes, "Let the Prayer Star Seed expand my power." A sudden burst of wind off his body made the other two wince and watch while a transformation took place. Shadow Neptune's hair became more rough and spiky as a sublime aura surrounded his body. His uniform started to rip and tear from the power and the symbols of his planet were ripped from the cloth. Then his eyes slowly opened and his entire pupils was saturated in a turquoise hue. The energy change also caught the two by surprise and they stepped back in shock.

"What have you done to yourself?"

"The Prayer Star Seed is channeling my energy now. Although I'll never be able to consider myself as a Shadow senshi again, the ability to finish you two off is well worth the price." The person they once knew cooed lightly to Shadow Mercury as he looked at the two with a dark smile. Both of the two Shadow senshi could feel the changes in him and they both knew this could only lead to the worse.

"You're a fool, Fukai. You've forsaken the power of your planet and let your Shudo completely fade away. All you are now.....is a common youma."

"Such harsh words, Yamito. I may have cast away the protection of Neptune, but with this new power.......I no longer need it." With that a tornado of energy started to swirl around his body and coursed through his veins. Fukai was no longer a Shadow senshi, but a full slave the power of the Omega Master. Shadow Mars watched the gathering energy with a focused look on his face but Shadow Mercury was not as confident. He watched his once close friend give away any chance of being normal and become a true enemy. With all of power surging through Fukai's body, he suddenly felt very sure of himself, "Here is a glimpse of my new level."

The tornado of energy started to turn horizontal and focus into a point of light in front of him. All of that energy forced into such a small place made the other two very cautious and Fukai slowly raised up his hand. He lightly caressed the energy a moment and tilted his head, then sent it out as a spiral towards them both. The rocks under the path of the blast became cracked and frail as it went along right towards Shadow Mercury. However, Shadow Mars appeared in the way and let his aura combat the blast. It slammed into the aura around him and put a great strain into the eyes of the dark senshi. His teeth even clenched together as his own energy blocked the power and soon caused it to spray around them in small wisps of light. Shadow Mars soon let the aura around him die down a bit and stared at Fukai with a worried look on his face. Fukai just seemed amused at the display and crossed his arms lightly over his chest. Shadow Mars knew this wouldn't turn out good for them, "This power is impressive and I'm sure that was only a sample of it. However, you are far from victory."


"Is something the matter, Kumo? You aren't doing too well." Shadow Venus cooed as he watched from his vantage point near the cliff face. Shadow Uranus was on his hands and knees in a scorched section of the rock and looked down at the ground with a fierce look in his eyes. He was already riddled with bruises and cuts and he slowly looked up to the source of his wounds.

Shadow Jupiter pulled his glove tight and looked down at him with a look of disgust on his face. As much as he was enjoying this, he wouldn't give his opponent the satisfaction of knowing how much he had hurt him, "Where's your holier-than-thou attitude now? I thought you could take us both on. You were more of a challenge when you were a normal Shadow senshi." A flash of rage went through Shadow Uranus's eyes and he suddenly lunged up at him, trying with all of his might to shut him up. Even his advanced skills in fighting coupled with the ability of being a Shadow senshi wasn't enough to lay a strike into Shadow Jupiter and he became sloppy as he tried. Shadow Jupiter easily avoided his attacks and soon stepped to the side a bit while raising his foot up quickly. The kick struck the middle of Shadow Uranus's stomach and took the wind right out of him though the attack was far from over. Using his one foot on the ground to pivot Shadow Jupiter made a complete circle and brought his foot up to the side of his head. He even grabbed it a moment and looked at his enemy before letting his heel crash down onto the back of his neck. The powerful move quickly put Shadow Uranus on the ground with his face twisted in pain. Shadow Jupiter slowly returned his foot to the ground and looked down at him with his fists clenched at his side, "Get up! I want you to fight back! I want you to suffer for putting Kani in that place where she died! Damn you, get up!"

Even when he kicked Shadow Uranus in the side harshly, he didn't have the strength to do as he wanted. The raging senshi didn't even feel pleasure when he saw his enemy spit up blood at his hand and he just stared down at him with flashing eyes. Shadow Venus watched silently and kept his eyes on Shadow Jupiter with a worried look on his face. Then he was surprised to hear laughter from the wounded figure and quickly looked to him as his voice floated up from the dirt his face was pressing into, "Poor Kage, still bitter about your sister? Even though I didn't actually kill her, I wish had just so that I could taunt you with it." That was enough for Shadow Jupiter and he quickly ripped his sword from the air and pulled it back for the final stroke. However, Shadow Uranus spoke something into the ground and held his hand across his collar as he did.

A sudden burst of energy stopped Shadow Jupiter's attack and he stepped back a bit, covering his eyes with his arm. When the light subsided he lowered his arm and looked at a new figure standing up in front of him. His appearance was much like that of his partner, his uniform torn and plain with solid pupils of a navy blue color. The power change made Shadow Venus lean off the cliff face and step out a ways to look at the new form of the former Shadow Uranus. This new form caused Shadow Jupiter to become even more annoyed and swipe his sword through the air quickly as he set up to battle once more, "That little light show make you want to fight?"

"It did more than that. I've let go my senshi powers and embraced the Omega Master's Prayer Star Seed. Shadow Uranus is dead......as soon will you two be."

With a renewed sense of confidence he set into his fighting stance and faced off against Shadow Jupiter once more. Shadow Jupiter spit to the side a bit and held his sword up ready as well, "Shut up and fight, Kumo." The invitation would be filled as Kumo lunged forward at him at a much faster speed. Shadow Jupiter was shocked by the speed in which came but never lost his concentration. As Kumo started in with blazing strikes with an open palm, he avoided them all with skillful movements of his neck and shoulders. The offensive wouldn't last long as he suddenly slashed out with his blade but only found air. Kumo ducked down and punched out at the middle of Shadow Jupiter's body but was surprised to feel the butt of the sword come down onto his wrist. His advisari knocked away the punch and flicked the sword around to slash once more when Kumo caught his hand and stopped the sword. The two held there for a moment and exchanged a glare before Shadow Jupiter kicked out and caught Kumo in the chest. It merely stunned him but he quickly dropped his foot down onto Kumo's slightly bent knee and stepped up onto it. In a quick motion he kicked off his knee and backflipped away from him, hoping to catch him across his chin with his other foot. Kumo, however, expected it and leaned back he would miss and the two were separated once more. Shadow Jupiter landed back away with his hands up ready once more and glared at advisari holding his sword. Kumo idly held the sword up and grinned widely.

"Forget something?"

The soldier of Jupiter miffed a bit and snorted, making the sword disappear from his hand in a flash of lightning. Kumo merely laughed and reared his weight back to charge again. His intent was interrupted by a whip of orange energy that struck the ground in front of him and sent a cloud of dust into the air. Both of them looked over to Shadow Venus as he pulled the energy back to him and held it along his arm once more, "I hate to break this to you but I'm joining in. His new form is strong enough to hold you off, Kage, and I doubt Yamito would like it if I let you get killed." Shadow Jupiter glared at him in annoyance but he shrugged lightly and pushed his hair back, "Yeah, yeah, you're ticked. I think you got your revenge when you put him face first into the dirt. Now let's finish this so we can stop the Omega wanker."

"Getting ahead of yourselves, aren't we?"

This time the voice came from Fukai as he appeared next to Kumo. Kumo eyed him a moment and smiled, obviously glad he used his collar as well and slowly looked back to the others. By this time Shadow Mercury had appeared back with Shadow Venus and soon the silent leader appeared in front of them all with a dry look on his face.

"Leaving so soon? Are you afraid your new powers are enough to defeat us?"

Kumo smirked a bit and answered for his partner, "Hardly. We just have a little surprise for you." It was then a cube made of energy appeared around them all trapped them from the outside. As quick as it took them by surprise the cube then started to shrink. The force pulled Shadow Jupiter and Shadow Mars back with the others and soon they were all in an area just big enough for the four of them to move a few feet. Shadow Jupiter quickly got to his feet and looked over the cube with a grimace on his face, "What the hell? What is this thing?" As he began to punch it to break free, Kumo laughed lightly and watched him in glee.

"A little gift from the Omega Master. It's a coffin for the four of you."

"We'll see about that." Shadow Mars snarled and erupted into flames. However he was unable to transport out of the cube and looked at his hands slowly. The attempt made Kumo laugh even louder and a mist started to fill the cube.

"You can't escape the prison we've given you. The mist will drain you of your dark energy until you are unable to stay awake. Then.....we'll slaughter you all."

"You bastard. When I get out of here I'll tear you apart!" Shadow Jupiter growled and started to hit the wall even harder. It all lead to even more amusement for Kumo and Fukai but one of the Shadow senshi suddenly got an idea.

"Gimme a break. I'll take care of this!" A Gatling Blast appeared along both of Shadow Venus's arms and he stepped back from the opposing wall with a determined look. Just as Shadow Mercury was objecting to the action he used his attack on the side of the cube. However, the slivers of orange energy began to bounce back into the cube and fly all around in its area. All the occupants inside started to dodge the blasts and Shadow Venus quickly ducked down and covered his head. Miraculously none of the blasts hit them before they faded away and Shadow Venus slowly stood up with a blink, "Whoa....."

"Dammit, Suteki, don't do that again!" Shadow Jupiter roared and shook a threatening fist at him. He merely smiled and rubbed his head a bit when a hand rested on his shoulder and took him by surprise. They both looked back to Shadow Mercury who had a pale look on his face and was struggling to even stay on his feet.

"I don't feel well at all."

"The cube is doing its job. Soon you four will be sound asleep and just waiting for your deaths." Fukai called out in a sultry tone and stood close to Kumo as they watched. Shadow Jupiter and Shadow Venus both helped their friend stay on their feet but also felt the effects of the mist as well. All the while Shadow Mars stood with his dark glare on the two outside and said nothing. Even his vision started to blur under the mercy of the mist but his hearing couldn't have been clearer.

"I don't think so! They won't die while we're around!" Eternal Sailor Moon called out and stood alone to the side of the two. They both looked over to see the rest of the Sailor senshi come running out of the night and standing next to her. The determination on their faces was a testament to the loyalty to their friends and they all readied to save them from the described fate.

Kumo idly smiled at the new arrivals and titled his head a bit, "Oh, it looks like we have guests."

"You are a stubborn little girl, Sailor Moon. I.....told you that we would handle this."

Sailor Moon's face suddenly went red and she looked at him with fire in her eyes. Before she could retort at the comment Super Sailor Mars stepped up and eyed him with a smug smile, "Looks like you're doing a great job too."

"You four must be here to see the package we're taking back to the Omega Master."

Fukai's light voice brought all of their attentions to him and Sailor Moon furrowed her brow in confusion, "What package?"

"This one." Suddenly a figure appeared hanging motionlessly next to the two. His torn and tattered cape was barely moving in the cold wind that was blowing and it brought a look of horror on the face of Sailor Moon. Soon the waning moon came out from behind a cloud and illuminated the beaten face of the figure.

"Tuxedo Kamen!" Sailor Moon shrieked and looked over him with a fearful gasp. All of the Sailors gasped at the sight of the unconscious Tuxedo Kamen and Kumo reached out and took his face in his hand, looking over the bruises and cuts thoughtfully.

"Hmmm, he's not quite as handsome like this. Fortunately the Omega Master wants him alive. Pity I can't say the same for all of you."

"Tuxedo Kamen!" Sailor Moon repeated and ran towards them in blind passion. It was almost too easy when Fukai flicked his hand through the air and caused a massive burst of wind to throw her back to the others. As she hit the ground and skidded a bit, the others ran up and helped her. She barely sat up and looked at the beaten figure with a terrible feeling welling up in her. Then a soothing voice filled the air from the cube that held the Shadow senshi.

"What does that coward want with him?"

"Ohhh, wouldn't you like us to tell you?"

Shadow Mars wasn't too pleased at being dismissed like that and a moment of tension filled the air between them all. Then a weakened voice came from Shadow Mercury and made all of them look to the cube, "The Omega Master plans to possess his body like a parasite. It's.....the only way he can be free in this world again."

"Bravo, Kurai." Fukai applauded and clapped his hands together several times. The information made the Sailor senshi stir a bit in anticipation of the rescue but Kumo slowly released his hand from Tuxedo Kamen's face and grinned at them.

"Planning to take him back? How fun."

"Sailor senshi, you can't let them take him. The Omega Master must not be allowed back into your world, especially in that body."

Shadow Mars's words came as a given as the Sailor senshi considered ways to stop them. A long silence came between them as the two waited for any of them to try it. It was Super Sailor Jupiter who did, "You won't take him anywhere!" She came charging out of the group and jumped into the air to attack. Kumo was the intended target and watched with a calm look on his face. As the heel came towards him as the focus of a powerful kick, Sailor Jupiter yelled out and kept her attack right on target. Unfortunately a gesture from Kumo caused a shield of energy meet her foot instead. Incredible energy surged through her body and she screamed out in pain from it. Then she fell to the ground weakly but never got there. Kumo then thrusted his hand out and a crack of thunder sounded as a force sent her body skidding across the ground. They others were in shock as she came to a stop and lay there motionlessly. None more than Shadow Jupiter.

"Makoto........" The sight was enough to make him snap and yell out in rage. Soon he was disregarding the mist's effects on him and pounding against the cube with all his might. His sword even came into his hand and he began to slash wildly at it. And still, the cube held them.

"Poor girl, I guess she didn't know what she was getting into." Kumo said calmly and looked at her with a proud sense of accomplishment. Suddenly another figure appeared next to him and began to use a Love and Beauty Shock on him. In the flash of an eye he was behind her and grabbing onto her. She yelped as he twisted her arm behind her and pulled her tightly against him. The pain caused her face to tighten up and he leaned in close to her ear with his lips and spoke through a wry smile, "Scream for me, girl." Her teeth just clenched and she struggled to get free, not giving him the satisfaction of that scream. When he twisted her arm further, however, she yelled out from the sheer pain of it. All of this quickly brought Shadow Venus against the side of the cube as well, his blue eyes weak from the mist inside.

"Minako......hang on, I'm......I'm coming."

Suddenly it was Super Sailor Pluto that appeared next to Kumo and raised her staff to the side of her. He had barely enough time to look to the side and see the staff strike him right in the face. The force was enough to send him away from Sailor Venus and go skipping across the ground. Sailor Pluto quickly faced Fukai but eyed Kumo as he slowly got to his feet.

"Arrogance leads to defeat. As does being evil."

"Despite the Omega Master's warnings, I have no restraint in killing you, soldier of time. You'll get no special treatment from us."

An odd sense of reverence came into his eyes, however, and Fukai showed the same thing. The entire thing caused Sailor Pluto to smile a bit and hold her staff out ready for the next assault, "I expect none."

"First we will send off our package to the Omega Master. Then we'll deal with you all."

Sailor Moon rushed forward out of the rest and clenched her fists tightly. The thought of Tuxedo Kamen being taken and possessed was more than she could bear and called out in a shaky voice, "I won't let you steal away Tuxedo Kamen!"

"You mean Mamoru?" That little sentence made her gasp in shock and look at them with panic in her eyes. Just her expression caused Kumo to laugh and wipe some dirt from his shoulder as he walked up next to Fukai once more, "Yes, we know all of your identities. It took us a while, but we were able to find you all. It was very funny to watch you pawning over the stupidest things, Usagi. Or....may I call you Usako?" That made her clench her teeth and further the idea of keeping Tuxedo Kamen from their hands. And so Kumo continued, "As soon as we had found him, we grabbed him. Right when he was talking on the phone."

"So he didn't hang up on me." Sailor Moon said with a breath of relief and managed to smile a bit. Her mood was suddenly flatlined again as Kumo glanced over at the beaten figure and smiled.

"Time to send our package."

"You have to stop them, Sailor Moon!" Shadow Mars yelled out from inside of the sphere and began to press against it with his hands. Just as the Sailor senshi were massing to do just that Kumo waved his hand through the air and chuckled.

"Too late. He has a date with himself."

"Sa....Sailor Moon..."

Tuxedo Kamen slowly opened his eyes as he began to fade and extended his hand towards Sailor Moon. Then he was gone and opened the door for the Omega Master to enter the world once more. Sailor Moon looked down after he had gone and leaned forward on her knees a bit, "No.....Mamoru...."

"We still have a chance to stop it. First we have to get out of this cube before we all pass out." Shadow Mars said and ran his hands along the wall of the cube slowly. His dark eyes stayed on her and watched the pain on her face. But she slowly looked up to him and saw the look he was giving back. It caused her to smile lightly and nod.

"Okay, maybe Mercury can figure out something."

"I'll give it my best." Super Sailor Mercury said and faced the cube. Her visor appeared over her eyes just in time for Fukai to appear in front of her with shards of energy caressing his hand.

"I don't think so!" Before he could use the shards, however, Super Sailor Uranus and Super Sailor Neptune both pushed him back with their energy attacks. They didn't even linger long enough to get a thank you as they were joined by the others in attacking the two. Only Sailor Moon remained back as she stepped up next to Sailor Mercury and waited. Symbols and instructions started to filter through the visor and Sailor Mercury began to type into her computer quickly. The battle around them began to get heated and Sailor Moon looked from it to her with a sense of urgency in her voice.

"Anything yet?"

"According to the readings it's a reflective energy barrier that uses the occupants own energies to keep the field up. It's very complex and it may take me a moment to figure out the right frequency to stop the......."

"What if they just stopped using their power?"

The suggestion made Sailor Mercury blink and she slowly looked up to her in shock. In all her rush she never thought to just go with the simplest answer, "I'm very impressed, Usagi. That may actually work."

"Why are you so surprised!? I have good ideas, you know!"

Sailor Mercury had already turned from her tantrum and was yelling up to the cube, "Kurie! You and the others must stop using your power. Try to put out as little energy as possible!"

"That may happen anyway." Shadow Mercury quipped and weakly got to his feet. By now the others were almost down and he took a few labored breaths before speaking, "We have to lower our energy. Sailor.....Sai.....Ami says it will work."

"How do we do that?"

Shadow Mercury smiled a bit at Shadow Venus's question and was already looking at Shadow Mars. He was kneeling in a prayer position and his entire body was relaxed. Already the cube was starting to spark and he began to kneel down as well, "Follow the leader." He began the meditation as well and the other watched them with a smirk. Then they both did the same and soon the cube was dimming. Unfortunately it still was imprisoning them and Shadow Mercury winced a bit at the strait it took to focus his energy, "This is as low as we can make them, Ami! It's.....not enough!"

"Hold on." Sailor Mercury cooed and tapped her visor, making it disappear from around her eyes. She stepped forward and used her Aqua Rhapsody attack on the cube. The attack shattered the cube from around them and they all fell to the ground hard. Although they were all weak as they laid on the ground, the mist that escaped slowly circled above them and absorbed back down into their bodies. Soon after they all began to stir.

"Kurai?" Sailor Mercury was quick to see if he was okay and knelt next to him as she placed his hand across his back. He came up into a kneeling position and slowly looked to her with a light smile.

"I am....alive. Thanks to you, Ami-chan." His affectionate tone cause a blush to burn on her face as she started to help him up.

A few feet away Sailor Moon was holding onto Shadow Mars's arm and helping him up. She couldn't even help when her voice went weak as she looked at his weary face, "Yamito......"

"You shouldn't have come." He bit at her and pulled his arm from her hands. She looked at him with wild eyes and he just stared forward at the fight that was happening. He could feel her eyes burning into him and soon he sighed lightly, "We have pressing matters. Don't be long." With that he disappeared in a swirl of flames and left her standing there with a longing look in her eyes.

"Makoto......" Shadow Jupiter whispered to himself and quickly ran off towards where she had fallen. Shadow Venus quickly stepped up next to Sailor Moon and slid his arm around her waist. She jumped at the touch and looked to him quickly, then a light smile came on her face. A quick wink from him made her even giggle a bit and he looked over to Shadow Mercury and Sailor Mercury with a grin.

"You two don't linger. We got things to do, ya know?" With that he and Sailor Moon disappeared to join the battle and left the two alone for a moment.

"Are you sure you're all right?"

"For the first time in a long while." Shadow Mercury said back and looked at her with a soft look in those icy blue eyes. The two shared a moment while the world around them faded. The feeling reunion came over her as she felt his hands move up along her arms and to her shoulders. It caused a shiver to run down her body and she found herself lost in his eyes. They even drew close to each other and her eyes naturally closed at the notion. He pulled her close into him and brought his lips right to hers. Before their lips could ever touch, he spoke in a soft voice that made her weak in his hands.
