Chapter Eight - Owari 


The two warriors circle around each other for a moment and the deep laugh bellows out from the hood once again.
"Foolish man, you know what I am capable of and yet you still chose to face me." the figure says. Jikan just spins his naginata slowly and stares coldly at the hooded figure. All the senshi stare at the two, not knowing what to do.
Sailor Pluto sits up weakly, "Jikan! No!" she says loudly and Jikan turns his head to her. The moment he does the hooded figure is right up next to him and slams an armored fist right into his face. Jikan reels back but the hooded figure doesn't stop, he spins around and sends a foot into the side of Jikan's head and sends him sprawling back. In the same motion, the hooded figure leaps into the air and flips skillfully. He comes down right behind Jikan as he falls back and knees him right in the lower back. Jikan grunts in pain and is snapped backward. The hooded figure then brings both of his hands together above his head and smashes Jikan in the chest down to the ground. Jikan slams into the ground, sending up a cloud of dust and the senshi gasp at the sight for the whole attack lasted less than two seconds. The hooded figure slowly raises up to a normal standing position and looks down at the unconscious Jikan.
"What a pity. You had such potential in the Nisai." he says and kicks some dirt onto Jikan's bleeding face. He then looks up at the other senshi and a small laugh creeps out of the hood. "Well now, I suppose I win. The Sailor known as Saturn comes with me." he says. The senshi growl at the figure and get ready to attack the arrogant figure when Jikan suddenly pops up behind him with his naginata above his head. He yells loudly and brings it down at the figure just as he turns around. The figure barely gets his armored arm up and a loud clang echoes in the air. Jikan growls and starts quickly attack with both ends of his naginata. The figure is barely blocking each attack with it's forearms and being backed up. Jikan spins his naginata around and turns his body in a circle, bringing the naginata around full force at the figure. The figure tries once more to block it but the force of the swing shatters the armor on his arm. He jumps back and grasps his arm, "Agh! How?! How is it possible!?" he yells and looks at Jikan. Jikan holds his naginata out as he breathes heavily. The figure growls and reaches up, removing his hood so his face can be seen. His very handsome face has a deep scar on the left cheek and he removes his cloak, revealing a loose outfit. The senshi actually are very shocked at how handsome the man is and go a little red in the faces. "Now, I will destroy you." the man says in a very different voice from under the hood. He holds his hands out and two small swords appear in them. He holds the swords up and narrows his eyes. Jikan winces a little and grips his naginata tightly. The man suddenly charges him and starts slashing with the swords. Jikan is barely holding his own against him, blocking the swords with his naginata. The man takes him by surprise with one attack and stabs Jikan in the shoulder. Jikan yells in pain but still brings the naginata around from behind and hits the man in the side if the head with the bottom end. The man reels back a bit as a stream of blood runs down the side of his head. He growls and runs back at Jikan, attacking wildly again. Jikan winces at the wound in his shoulder but manages to get the upper hand in the fight. His swings his naginata around hard and shatters one of the swords in the man's hand. The man is so shocked Jikan has time to land a solid kick to his chest, sending him to the ground hard. He drops the other sword and lands with a loud thud. Jikan wastes no time and swings down hard with his naginata with the blade headed for the man's head. The man quickly catches the blade between his hands and stops it right before his face. Jikan grunts loudly and is pushing with all his might trying to finish the attack. The man gets a sneer on his face and starts to push the naginata away slowly. "Heh, you may have gotten me that time...bbbut I will get one last laugh." the man says and looks at the weakened Hotaru lying on the ground. His eyes start to glow brightly and Jikan knows what he is going to do. He groans and pushes the naginata hard but still can't push through. He looks at Hotaru as the man's eyes glow to their brightest.
"No!" Jikan yells and suddenly grabs the end of his naginata. He twists the end of it and a clicking sound is heard. He pulls the end of the staff and it separates, removing a long blade out of the bottom of the staff. He rams the blade into the shoulder of the man right as immense blast fires out of his eyes at Hotaru. The piercing sword makes the man turn his head and changes the path of the blast into the air. He screams in pain and turns the blast right into Jikan. Jikan is hit directly in the chest and is jerked back hard flying into the side of a power box shack. He puts a huge dent in the side and slides down to the ground motionlessly. The man grabs the end of the sword and tears it out of his shoulder. He looks at the bloody blade and throws it to the ground. He staggers to his feet and growls at the motionless Jikan. He starts limping towards him and growls, "You....you could have been....one of the greatest Nisai. Now you die like the dog you are." he says weakly and his hands start to glow brightly.
"Dead Scream." is the only thing he hears before he turns around and sees the purple blast headed right towards him.
"Noooo!" he yells and tries to block the blast with his arms. The blast tears into his already weakened body and makes him scream loudly. His body starts to tear away and the only thing left of him is an unusual symbol floating in the air. It spins around quickly and fades away in a cloud of smoke. The senshi didn't even see Sailor Pluto had gotten up as she stands holding out her staff. She falls to one knee weakly and holds onto her staff for support. The other senshi huddle around her and see if she is all right. Tuxedo Kamen weakly staggers over to Hotaru and picks her up in his arms.
Sailor Pluto opens her eyes and gasps, "Jikan!" she says. She stands up and tries to run over to the form of Jikan against the wall. She falls to the ground right in front of him and crawls up to him. She lifts his limp head up in her arms and tears fill her eyes. "Jikan? Please, open your eyes." she says softly. She moves some of his hair out of his face and caresses his bloody cheek. The other senshi run up and gather around. Sailor Pluto sobs lightly and hugs Jikan, burying her face in his shoulder.
"Setsuna." a faint voice says. Sailor Pluto looks up quickly to see Jikan's eyes open slightly.
"Yes, oh Jikan. You didn't leave me." she sobs and smiles a bit. He looks at all the other senshi and then sees Tuxedo Kamen.
"Prince Endymion? Is that you?" he asks weakly. Tuxedo Kamen is shocked and looks at the fallen Mage.
"Yes, how did you know who I am?" he asks.
Jikan smiles weakly, "Oh, I watched the whole love story between you and Princess Serenity in the Moon Kingdom. It is good to see you both are still together." he says and closes his eyes, wincing in pain.
"Jikan! Please, rest." Sailor Pluto says. Jikan opens his eyes and looks at his naginata lying on the ground. Toki starts to glow brightly and it floats into the air. The naginata floats over to the senshi and they back away as it floats over to Pluto and Jikan.
"What...what is going on?" Super Sailor Moon asks.
"It is time.....time for Toki to be passed on." Jikan says and looks at Pluto.
"Jikan...no." Pluto says with tears in her eyes.
"Sailor Pluto....you....you are now in control of Toki, time itself. Use it wisely as all of the guardians of the Time Lanes must." he says and his naginata glows brightly floats down to her side. Toki glows brightly and shines a purple light on Setsuna. "Now, you must only use Toki in the time lanes. It will be there for you." he says and his naginata fades away, both pieces. The light still stays around Pluto and her tears fall to the ground. "Good-bye, my beloved wife." Jikan says and closes his eyes. The other senshi are taken aback and stare at Pluto.
"Good-bye, husband." she says and removes a necklace out of her fuku from around her neck. A solitary wedding ring hangs on it and she starts to cry. The others try and comfort her but she just cries over the lost Jikan.

A few weeks later, all the senshi are on a outing with the cats and Mamoru in the park. The Inners are busy having fun on a volleyball court and the cats and Mamoru are just watching. The Outers a sitting a little bit away, all except for Setsuna. She is standing far away by some bushes, looking out into the horizon.
"I can't believe Setsuna was married to Jikan. Why didn't she tell us?" Michiru asks and looks at Setsuna standing all alone.
"Haruka looks at her also and shrugs, "Setsuna has always been very quiet about herself. I am sure there are a great many things she we don't know about." she says and the three look at their sullen friend.
Far away from everybody, Setsuna just stands looking at nothing. Her green hair is blowing lightly in the wind as a solitary tears runs down her cheek. Suddenly, a smile crosses her lips and she closes her eyes.
"How long have you been standing there?" she asks into the air.
"Just long enough." a quiet voice says from the in the dense tree and bushes.
"I was wondering when you would come back again." she says with a smile.
A shadowy figure appears next to her, hidden in the tree. The figure is holding a long object with a curved blade at the top. "I had some things to do. But I am back once again." it says.
Setsuna turns her head and looks at the other having fun, "They all believe you are dead." she says softly.
"It is better that way. As long as they believe it, the Nisai won't bother them. But you, they may come after you, my wife." the figure says and beam of sunlight through the trees illuminates the face of Jikan.
Setsuna nods lightly and looks back forward, "I know. What are we going to do?" she asks.
"I am going to destroy the Nisai. All of them so you and I can be together once again." he says and looks at her face gleaming in the setting sun.
Her face goes sad, "When are you going?" she asks silently.
He smiles a bit and holds his other hand out, "Not for a while. I am here for you. Come, my love." he says softly.
She smiles and finally looks at him, "Oh Jikan." she says and reaches out to take his hand, the ring that was once on the necklace now is back on her finger. When the Outer senshi look back, Setsuna is gone and figure she must have gone home. They continue to have fun on the park as they worry about her. Never will they know she is happier now than she has ever been.
