Under Heaven Summary

The story is set in a land where "Heaven" and "Under Heaven" are divided apart and don’t actually associate with one another. We enter the scene of the perpetually dark, immense, suspicious surroundings of Under Heaven with "D" who was driven off the heaven because of the mysterious reasons we are not yet told. D lost his memory about it and even his real name thus lives by working as a shinigami for the "God’s territory" of Under Heaven, and stays at a small family dining place owned by a master who has hospitalized him when D was first brought to Under Heaven, and master's little boy named "Rock".

One day as D is out hunting the territory invaders as usual, he suddenly faints down. Jei, the naive and soft-mannered who is in the middle of the lost from nowhere finds him, so he suggests a help but D rejects gruffly. However when D looks up to see the stranger he is extremely startled to see a guy whose face remarkably resembles his! Master and Rock come out to search for D and invite Jei to stay at another room in the pub. However, out of anyone's prediction, D's ex-boss from Heaven "Tachibana" comes down to the territory and takes away Jei in order to bring him back to Heaven. Up to this point we have got a clue that Jei is the highest prince of the above world and his mother, Shela was pregnant with Bruce, the owner of the place D stays!! We have also taken to a flashback reflecting on how it all started. Afterall Bruce and Shela's relationship weren't approved and Shela was taken back to heaven before Bruce could see his child.(or children? We don't know yet if Jei and D were twins)

No matter how gorgeous and reserved Tachibana seems, he is a genuine born-to-be villain. Not only he bereft Shela from Bruce and now is taking away his son, he massacred Shela after she gave birth to Jei. D interferes in time to save master's life from Tachibana's blade during their batch. Nevertheless, the first glimpse D catches on Tachibana has got him struggling of the gushing memory while he was still in Heaven, and Tachibana succeeds in stealing Jei away. Now that D has regained some pieces of his faded, shattered past, he decides to go back to heaven and unravel the root of everything.

That’s the end of the first volume. Even though it does say "End" at the end of the book I don’t think it’s going to end just there because there are still so many questions waiting to be solved such as will Tachibana and D encounter a fight when they meet? Will Jei ever acquires about his father’s existence and will he come back to stay with him? What is D's true origin? What exactly is the point behind Tachibana's fiendish recidivism...etc, etc. Anyway…I really don't know if there is going to be a continuation.^_^;; Oh well let's pray though. Meanwhile check out some yummy scans from the gallery sections!
