RIGHT HERE WAITING...(Part 3)
"That wasn't the reaction I expected",Serena said looking him.
Wiping his pants he looked at her."Darien...say something"
She shook him and he came out of the daze.
"How'd this happen?",he asked and she laughed at his shock.
She had finally managed to stupify the cool,calm Darien Chiba.
"Well your the doctor,you should know",She said to him and
looked at him.It looked like it wasn't quite getting to
his head.Darien looked at her and he saw how she glowed.
In spite of what happened to her,Serena managed to look
at the bright side.But a baby...could she handle it?
"Wow you're having a baby...",he said quietly and smiled
at her."We're gonna have to celebrate.Get dressed" Serena
smiled illuminating her face even more but the thought of
telling her parents came to mind and she faltered."What's
wrong?"
"How am I gonna tell my parents?",she asked and he put his arms around
her willing himself not to smother her with kisses.Right now was not
the right time to profess his growing affection for her.
"Relax.Take it what step at a time",he instructed and she walked to her
room.Before she closed the door she turned around and looked at his
handsome face.Something in her tugged at her heart.There was something
different about him,in Japan the two were allies in fighting but when
they in normal apperance they couldn't even carry out a conversation
without trying to kill each other.But that was before.When did this
all change?
"Hey..Darien",she said standing at the doorway."I just um..wanna
thank you...you've been such a great friend" With that she closed her
door.
"Yeah friend",he said softly and sadly to himself.Would he ever be
anything more?

Walking along Pier 39,Serena and Darien looked at the amazing lights
and attractions.A band was playing and everywhere people were enjoying
themselves.They had eaten dinner at seafood resturant and were just
enjoying the sights.Serena liked to stop in the little shops at the
Pier and Darien saw her old self returning.Her bright face was lit up
and her blue eyes shifted excitedly from one thing to another.Kids
ran to the arcades and candy stores,Serena looked at them observing
them in a quiet almost motherly way.Patting her stomach she smiled
softly.She never struck herself as the motherly type,she couldn't
even take care of Luna,her cat!
"So what do you want to do?",Darien asked her as he watched her every
move.She wore a silver-grey short skirt and white silky tank top.Over
the tank top she wore a black cardigan and on her feet wore a small
pair of black high heels that were open toed.He had noticed the way guys looked at her and a
twinge of jealousy made his eyes narrow at them.Darien didn't look that
bad himself.He wore a pair of black dockers and polo shirt.On his feet
were some black loafers.His jet black hair glistened and his muscular
build could be seen through his shirt.The teenagers who hung out on
the Pier watched adoringly as he made his way through the crowd.
"Gosh there's so many things to do!",she said excitedly."Look..a clown!
Oh wait I hate clowns!"She wrinkled her nose like a pug dog."Ohh
look a candy store!" Then her eyes lit up and she dragged him...to the
merry-go-round.His face turned red at the thought of having to ride a
horse."Let's go!"
"Serena...Wait!",he said to her and pulled her arm.He scratched of his
head as he looked wearily at the carousel."I'm not really a carousel
kinda guy" She pouted but it quickly changed to easygoing smile.
"Then can I ride it?",she asked impulsively and smile charmingly.He
nodded and she squealed in delight.As she sat on a horse she waved at
him.A man selling disposable cameras passed him and Darien bought one.
He began to snap pictures of Serena who was having the time of her life
and he smiled to himself.It seemed lately that his happiness was her
happiness.Every pain or disappointment she felt immediately bounced
to him times two.After Serena was done they continued walking and
Darien stopped at a cart where a man was selling roses.The man was
small and pudgy with a white beard.He resembled Santa and had a twinkle
in his eyes.
"Buying roses for your little misses",he said looking at Serena who
was looking in the window of candy shop.
"Oh no she's not my wife",Darien told him pained and the man looked at
him inquisitively.He picked out a bunch of beautiful red roses in full
bloom.Serena walked over and her face widened into a smile."For you"
She took them and held them to her nose.Inhaling softly the scent of
the lovely flower.Serena looked up at him and his breath caught in his
throat.
"Thanks",she said,her head spinning.She shook the thought from her head.The
old man watched the scene unfold.What was going on was loud and clear
to him.He coughed and they both turned around blushing deep shades of
red.
"Sir,would you mind taking a picture of us?",asked Darien and the man
nodded.Darien put his arm around Serena and she put her arm around
his waist.
"Say cheese",the man said.
"Cheese!!",they both said and the flash went off.He handed the camera
to Darien.
"You two make a fine couple",he commented."You're a very handsome young
man and you" He pointed to Serena."are the most beautiful young lady
I've ever set my eyes on.If only I were forty years younger...."
"That's sooo sweet",she said flattered and kissed the elderly man on
the cheek.He looked pleased and she winked at him."Hey Darien I'm gonna
go get something at the candy shop" Darien nodded and she ran into
the store.They watched her and Darien paid the man.
"Sweet girl.Face of an angel,charm of the devil",he said and looked at
Darien who agreed with him wholeheartedly."She the one for you,son.
Don't let her get away.You only find girls like that,once in a
lifetime" The old man wheeled his car leaving Darien to his thoughts.

The waves crashed and collided with the sand making the water hit
Serena's tiny feet in a cold splash.She shrieked jumping into
Darien's arms.He laughed loudly and she angrily hit his arm.
They sat on the sand with their shoes off and looked up to
see,a beautiful crescent moon and the sprinkle of stars that
were spread against the velvety night sky.
"Can I tell you a secret?",she said in his ear.He shivered at her
voice.
"You can tell me anything",he whispered back and she smiled.Putting
her head on his shoulder,Serena inhale his sweet,spicy scent that
mingle with another smell.Roses.She smiled to herself.
"I'm really scared",she confided to him.
"Of what?"
"Of the baby",Serena answered."I mean...I don't know how to raise a
child.I can even take care of myself for crying outloud!"
"Serena",he began."Don't tell that you,Serena Tsukino,SailorMoon who
fought Queen Beryl and saved the world on a regular basis is scared
of a harmless child"
"Not just any child,MY child",she said and looked at him.A serious
look in her eyes.He had never seen her like this."It's an awesome
responsibility" He took her hand and they were face to face.The light
of the moon shining on them.
"You are the strongest person I know",he told her looking in her eyes.
She tried to breathe but it didn't seem to be coming out.The fear of
hyperventilating in front of him made her calm herself."I have seen
you take your number of hits and you still everytime manage to pull
yourself up.Strong as ever."
"Why do you have so much faith in me?",she asked him.
"If I can't have faith in SailorMoon,who else can I have faith in",he
told her making Serena smile."I promise you that anytime you need me.
I'll be here" Tears threatened to fall from her eyes.
"Now you've gone and made me cry",she said and laughed through her
tears."I could just hurt you!"
"What you gonna do?",he said teasingly to her."Throw another shoe
at me!" Her face scrunched up and she attempted to choke him.But
he dodge her and laughed.Their yells echoed and stars
seem to shine even brighter for them.

Two months later...
Reading a magazine about parenting,Serena attempted to jungle her
magazine and her bowl of popcorn in her hands.Darien who was showering
had made her breakfast but she had finished it off in a second.A knock
at the door made her groan and she put her stuff down.Pushing herself
up she put a hand to her slightly bulging belly.The knock was heard
again and a wave of irriatation came over her.
"HOLD YOUR HORSES!",she yelled and walked over.The person knocked
again more persistently and Serena impatiently yanked opened the door.
Her eyes practically popped out to see who was on the other side of
the door....
