A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature
To stop speech when words become superfluous
-Ingrid Bergman
As for me, I looked at him and felt nothing else. His every movement,
his manners, the sound of his voice made me tremble. When a passion
like this gets hold of you, it never lets you go, never till your
last breath. It burns all in you, and still flames, when there is
nothing more to burn...But then, how happy, oh! How happy I was!
-Ayn Rand, The Husband I Bought
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a
kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the
smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to
turn a life around.

The Joy(Epilogue)

It was only natural that Usagi would choose this name. She adored this
person, loved him to no ends. Mamoru grinned knowing that they were
naming the baby after HIM.
Not so fast buddy boy.
That's when Usagi pronounced that she was the naming the baby after
her father, Kenji. Then Minako decided to dubbed him "Chibi-Ken" so
not to confuse the two Kenji's. And of course she had had her taste
of celebration wine. Mamoru looked at Kenji who looked so happy gazing
at his first grandson and decided that he too wanted to name the child
after his FATHER. The word was almost an puzzle to him but he liked
the thought of having an even bigger family.
"How do you like it Mamo-chan?", She asked sitting in the hospital bed.
They had all went after the two births, Usagi and Chibi-Kenji along
with Rei and the sweet baby girl they had named Michie. Sort of short
for Mirichu who had help deliver her.
Anyways back to the subject. Mamoru saw the tears in Kenji's eyes who
was holding the baby. He kissed her on the forehead.
"It's perfect", He responded. Kenji looked at him and then he saw
something in his eyes that he'd never expect. Pride. For him.

The sun began to go down and the afternoon heat began to be replace
with a cool breeze. The family of three looked out into the beautiful
view of the city. Usagi rocked the Chibi-Ken and watch his lovely blue
eyes fall slowly and kissed his small cheek. How she loved being a
mama.
"He's asleep", She whispered and turned to look at him with a sly
grin. "So what do we do now PAPA?" He smiled at her and the sounds
of an oldie floated from their radio. Without another word he lifted
her up into his arms, held one of her hands and began to swing her
around. Usagi laughed loudly looking into her husband's eyes and
falling in love all over again.
I, I'm so in love with you
Whatever you want to do
Is all right with me
'Cause you make me feel so brand new
And I want to spend my life with you
Since, since we've been together
Loving you forever
Is what I need
Let me be the one you come running to
I'll never be untrue
"You know what Mamo-chan?", Usagi said as they danced to the music
and he spun her around.
"What?", He said breathlessly and pulled her close. Mamoru could smell
the sweet scent that often engulfed his senses numbing him till he was
weak in the knees.
"You're the best", She told him.
"I know"
"Aren't we a little self-centered?", said Usagi and laughed at him.
"I am only the best because you made that way. Every bit of good in
me is from you", He said in a husky voice, a serious look in his eyes.
"I love you Usako"
"NO, I fell in love with you because of that good in you", Usagi
responded just as serious and then suddenly a sweet smile spread
across her lips. "And I love you too Mamo-chan" Mamoru pulled her
close and as the first bit of night came in, their lips met.
Let's, let's stay together
Lovin' you whether, whether
Times are good or bad, happy or sad
Whether times are good or bad, happy or sad...
*********************************************************************
"NO, NOT THAT VASE!", Makoto yelled and closed her eyes as she heard
that all too familiar CRASH. This always happened when the two-year-olds
Kenji and Michie were together. "REI, USAGI GET OVER HERE!" The two
women went to rescue their children before Makoto strangle could them.
And trust me she was getting pretty close to it.
"Chibi-Ken! How many times do I have to tell you not to break
anything?!", Usagi scolded.
"Yes, we went over this at Minako's place", Rei said.
"I'm sorry mama", Kenji said and batted his eyelashes and of course
copying her friend so did Michie.
The two didn't even have a CHANCE.
"Well...don't do it again", Usagi said relenting and in response her
little boy gave her a quick kiss before running of to play with Michie
and a four-year-old Miya. Rushing back inside the house and into the
living room Usagi quickly helped her friend with the mess. "Makoto,
you shouldn't be doing this. You're in no condition."
"I'm having a baby Usa, not dying", She protested. Makoto now in her
eighth month stood up and sat down. "Okay you're right, I am a bit
tired. Where's Shinozaki?" Her husband of just over one year, the
two had found themselves expecting right after the honeymoon.
Talk about getting things done.
"Well him, Mamo-chan, Urawa and Yuuichirou are off somewhere", Usagi
said as the two went outside. The summer air played with the long
tendrils of her hair and she smiled lightly. The small playground
set up for the soon to be born baby was now being ransacked by the
small group of children.
"Remind me never to have a baby in the summer", Rei remarked. YES, she
was having another baby and after nights of praying, Yuuichirou was
FINALLY getting the baby boy he wanted.
"I imagine it must be worse for you than it is for me", Ami said who
also happened to be in her third month sat next to her with a hand
on her slightly bulging stomach.
"Poor Ami, are you still having morning sickness?", Setsuna asked,
coming from the house with Hotaru at her side. Eighteen year old
Hotaru smiled shyly at everyone and walked over to sit next to Usagi
trying not to be so conspicious about the ring on her finger.
Of course Usagi noticed and gave Hotaru a small wink.
"But holding the baby in your arms is worth, isn't it?", Mirichu said
holding a two-month old baby in her arms. Adopting little Hoshi was
in her opinion the best thing she and Haruka ever did. As Haruka
handed her the baby bottle she gave her lover a small, special smile.
"WE'RE HERE!", Minako yelled coming into the yard and in tow was Motoki,
her husband of just a month. Minako was practically glowing , her blue
eyes shone and her cheeks a deep red. Motoki looked adoringly at his
wife, the word put chills inside of him. His wife. His Minako. He
pulled her close preparing to kiss her-
"Hey if you two are gonna kiss can you get out of the way?", Mamoru
said from the doorway. He grinned at them as Motoki unwillingly drew
apart from his wife in order to let him and the others out.
Mamoru rushed to his wife and little Kenji, taking his son in his arms
then kissing Usagi. Everyone sat down at the picnic table and Usagi
smiled seeing them all together again. She thought of the past, when
they were all young and dreaming the dreams that were now their lives.
She saw Rei and Yuuichirou holding their children as they talked gazing
into one another's eyes. Makoto and Shinozaki serving the food and she
smiled as she watched her friend's husband put a hand on her stomach.
Ami and Urawa looking at book of baby names, Urawa's arm protectively
around Ami's small shoulders as they gave each other a small, private
smile. Minako and Motoki holding hands as they argued lightly about
a movie they had seen together. Haruka and Mirichu looking lovingly
at their child as Mirichu rocked her back and forth. Setsuna talking
on her cell phone negotiating about her latest best-selling clothing
line and laughing at a joke the handsome man on the other line made.
Hotaru who was stared dreamily into space, on her hand the diamond
ring given to her from her soon to be husband Shingo. Mamoru stood
up holding his glass up and Usagi thought of how regal and king-like
he looked.
"I'd like to make a toast", Mamoru said. "To old dreams" Usagi looked
at him and smiled knowing what she was thinking.
"To new dreams", Usagi added softly.
"To friends", Rei said.
"And lovers", Makoto said playfully.
"To the past AND the future", Ami said and looked at her stomach.
"To...food?", Minako said slowly.
"MINAKO!", Everyone yelled laughing.
"What?! I couldn't think of anything!", She said laughing also and
Motoki kissed the side of her head. "Plus I'm hungry"
"Well then toast", Mamoru said and raised his glass.
"TOAST", They all said and Mamoru sat down.
"I have one more toast", Usagi said to her husband and grinned. "To
our daughter" She drank a bit of apple cider and watched Mamoru's
eyes roll to the back of his head as he fell to the ground in a faint.
Everyone looked in alarm and Usagi went to his side. Suddenly Mamoru
grabbed her and planted a kiss on her lips.
"A daughter?", He said and she nodded. Mamoru then decided to finish
his kiss.
Ah yes. The joy of fatherhood.
