Megumi is the ship's communications officer. A former seiyuu (anime dub voice actress), her voice often catches the attention of lonely men on asteroid bases who listen in on the Nadesico's broadcasts.

Though she elicits a lot of attention for her talent, Megumi is seeking a man to share her life with. On the Nadesico, she seems to have found that man in Akito Tenkawa.

Often however, Megumi feels out of place on a warship and her disgust manifests itself quite openly with her very emotional nature. Loneliness keeps her part of the Nadesico family, as she seems to have found a home for herself onboard.
