"Tsuki" in Tsukino is written with the kanji (chinese symbol) for Month or Moon, which is also used to write Getsuyoubi, or Moon Day (Monday).

"Mizu" in Mizuno is written with the kanji symbol for Water, which is also used to write Suiyoubi, or Water day (Wednesday). Sui comes from Suisei, or Mercury (Water Star).

"Hi" in Hino is written with the kanji symbol for Fire, which is also used to write Kayoubi, or Fire day (Tuesday). Ka comes from Kasei, or Mars (Fire Star).

"Ki" in Kino is written with the kanji symbol for Wood or Tree, which is also used to write Mokuyoubi, or Thursday. Moku comes from Mokusei, or Jupiter (Wood Star).

"Ai" in Aino uses the kanji symbol for Love.

ChibiUsa shares the same name as Usagi, but ChibiUsa means "Small Rabbit".

Although some of my research proves otherwise, Chiba Mamoru probably means "Protector of Earth".
