Enjoy! :) For The First Time (Part Two) By: JLaLa (jlynpinay@aol.com) ~~~~~~~~~^~~~~~~~~~~^~~~~~~~~~~~^~~~~~~~~~~~^~~~~~~~~^~~~~~~~~~~~~^~~~~~ Mamoru thought that things couldn't get any worse. The girl that he once considered a sister had turned into the one girl he had been dreaming of all his life. Usagi thought of him as a brother thus giving him no chance of ever finding a way to her heart. Why was he thinking of this anyway? They were more like friends, amigos...if he just kept saying that maybe falling for one of his best friends wouldn't seem so bad. Face it. Usagi would never think of him that way. He shouldn't think of her like that anyhow. Forget it, he wouldn't give it another thought. WRONG. Not if fate had anything to do with it. The day started off fine. He had decided to take Usagi to the Arcade to introduce her to everyone. Things were going great until... ********************************************************************** "So do I look okay?" Usagi asked nervously as her and Mamoru walked down the street. Mamoru look at her intently trying not to look TOO obvious that he was gawking. She wore a white sundress that went above her knees with a pair of sandals. A word came to his mind. GODDESS. Hell she'd look good in a potato bag. "Honestly Mamo-chan" She gave him a sweet smile. "You look...nice", he said. If he said the truth then one out of two things might happen to him, one, she could burst out laughing at him and if that happened he bury himself in a hole and never come out or two, have her slap him thinking that he was pervert. He swore however that he saw a disappointed look in her eyes. "Thanks, you're not so bad yourself", she answered back and Usagi blushed as she looked at him. She was blushing? Why was she blushing over Mamo-chan? He was her brother and he thought nothing of her but the sweet little blond kid he hung with. The thought made her hurt somewhat. Suddenly a loud wolf whistle caught both their attentions. "LOOKING GOOD! WOO-HOO!" Two construction workers yelled as Usagi passed, both in admiration for her lovely legs. To them it almost made the job worthwhile. On the other hand Mamoru was NOT pleased. As she basked in the glow of their admiration. The green-eyed monster was peeking into the scene. "GIVE IT TO ME BABY!" "LET'S GO!" Mamoru said all of sudden pushing Usagi out of their view. "What's wrong with you?!" Usagi ask angrily. She was just having fun. "They were coming on to you!" he answered. Who wouldn't however? She was everything any man ever wanted and more. He had hoped that he was the only one that saw her beauty. That to everyone else she was just another sixteen-year-old. Some wishes DON'T come true. "I'm a girl Mamo-chan! If you haven't noticed", Usagi said with a bit of sadness in her voice. After all this time, he saw her as nothing but the girl he use to play in the sandbox all this time. "I'm sorry Usako", Mamoru said apologizing. "I'm just trying to protect you" Her eyes softened for a moment and she smiled. "It's ok"; she answered and took his arm. "For a moment I actually taught you were jealous" ******************************************************************* Entering the Arcade Usagi and Mamoru caught the attention of everyone in the room. Perhaps it was the fact that they made such a striking couple. Or maybe it was that half the room was Mamoru's fanclub and the other half were guys lining up to talk to Usagi but whatever it was they were pretty sure that everyone was staring. They walked over to where Motoki's counter was and sat on the stool in front him. "And who is this gorgeous girl that I'm about to meet?" Motoki said as he lifted Usagi's hand to his lips. Sly dog. However if he kept kissing her hand Motoki would be one other thing. A DEAD dog. "Motoki Furuhata meet Usagi Tsukino" Mamoru introduced the two and they shook hands. "We were childhood friends" "Are you sure you were just friends?" Motoki asked and looked at Mamoru to see that his friend's eyes would not meet his. Perhaps there was more truth to what he said. "Childhood sweethearts?" Mamoru looked up and Usagi gazed into Mamoru's eyes for a moment, a smile to coming to her sweet face. "Mamo-chan was...my first love", she said in a soft voice though her eyes had a joking merriment them. "Right Mamo-chan?" He smiled back falling under her charming spell. "Yeah..." he agreed quietly and for a moment they looked into each other's eyes till Motoki let out a small cough. "Usako, why don't you go try one of the games? Motoki will hook you up with some coins" She stopped looking at Mamoru and turned to look at Motoki. "Sure!" Motoki agreed and produced a few coins for Usagi. She was then off in a skip. He turned to his friend as Mamoru watched Usagi. "You're in love with her, aren't you?" "NO WAY! SHE'S JUST A FRIEND!" Mamoru protested though he felt he did it weakly. Motoki probably saw right through him. "Our families have history together" "Well good thing you don't like her caused there's practically a LINE of guys waiting to talk to her", Motoki informed his friend. Mamoru turned to see Usagi talking to a good-looking light haired boy as he flirted with her. He felt like ripping the guy's arm off. As Mamoru sat steaming at the guy, Motoki stood back and watch the fun. "So what are you watching?" A voice asked suddenly. Minako had entered along with Rei, Makoto, and Ami. "We're watching Usagi, Mamoru's FRIEND", Motoki told his girlfriend putting emphasis on the word friend. "Hey she's talking to Takeo, he goes to our school, pretty cute don't you think?" Makoto asked as she sat down. "Seems like Takeo is going in for the prey. That guy has been out with every pretty girl in our school" "Yup, I've gone out with him a few times", Minako said smugly. "Don't worry Mamoru, the guy's a bore" "Why should I worry? Usagi can go out with any guy she wants to", Mamoru declared not convincing anyone that he wasn't interested. They didn't wanna get him mad right now; he was like a bull ready to charge. Usagi walked away from the guy and over to the counter. "Hi, I'm Minako, Motoki's girlfriend" Minako introduced herself and examining the girl at the same time. She seemed nice, very pretty too. They could be twins! "Motoki, you're girlfriend's beautiful, I see why you wouldn't check anyone else out", Usagi declared and smiled at Minako. "Nice to meet you" The others introduced themselves and found themselves liking the petite beauty that seemed to catch Mamoru's eye. Not like he was gonna admit anyway. Mamoru seemed withdrawn angry and Usagi noticed it. Her smile faded like a wilting flower. "Mamo-chan, anything wrong?" she asked him and put a hand to his shoulder. "Nothing, I've gotta go", he said to her and quickly left the Arcade. "Will you excuse me? I see you guys soon", she said as she rushed after him. Outside she saw Mamoru walking slowly by himself, his shoulders slumped sadly. "MAMORU!" She yelled as she caught up with him. "What is going with you?" "I don't like that guy Usagi. I think he's just using you for...something", he told her. Her eyebrows furrowed in anger. "Had it ever occurred to you that some guy might actually like me?!", she asked him. "I'm not invisible to some guys Mamo-chan" Her eyes filled with tears. "I want...." You. The word was at the point of coming out. "...you to pick a guy who can truly treat you right" They both looked at the ground in silence. "I know", Usagi replied after awhile. "But you can't pick WHO I go out with" "FINE! I DON'T CARE WHO YOU GO OUT WITH!", He yelled at her. "FINE! I DON'T CARE IF YOU CARE WHO I GO OUT WITH!", She responded and looking at him with fire in her eyes. "I'll see you later MAMORU" Usagi walked off angrily. What was wrong with him? It was her life and she could date anyone she wanted. Deep in his heart, he wanted to be the one she wanted. Times had changed. She wasn't the clingy little girl with pigtails. She was a beautiful girl. A beautiful girl who he had just YELLED at. He truly was an idiot. ********************************************************************* Mamoru sat glumly on the couch flipping through the channels of parents' television. He didn't feel like being bummed out in his own apartment so he decided to spend his day there. Kyoko toddled in the room and seeing her brother's sad face climbed on his lap. Looking up at him Kyoko planted a kiss on his nose. Mamoru had to smile. "Mamo okay?", His sister asked with a smile and gazed at him with her jade eyes. "Yeah", he said nodding lazily. Kyoko grinned and hopped off his lap to get her coat. "So you wanna go for a walk?" She nodded and Mamoru got up to put his jacket on. Maeko came in to see that they were leaving. Finally her son got up from his nest on the couch. She suspected Usagi had something to do with this. After all she didn't think that she had ever heard someone growl whenever she mention another person's name. "Keep yourselves warm", Maeko said and smiled. "Have a good time you two" Outside Kyoko explored the things around her. She pick flowers and chased little squirrels. Mamoru smiled at the way she was captivated by everything. It reminded him of...Usagi. He wonder what she- "NO! DON'T EAT THAT WORM KYOKO!" Mamoru lifted his sister from the ground before she could slip the worm in her mouth. "No good?", she asked and he nodded no. Putting her down he went to tie his shoe. "USAGI!" He looked up to see Usagi in a blue trenchcoat holding a bag. Her hair was down falling to her bottom. She looked like an angel. "Hi", He greeted her. They gazed at each other for a moment. "Mamo-chan I shouldn't have-" "No, I was a jerk. Maybe I was too overprotective", Mamoru said and held out his hand. "Truce?" "I glad that you're here to watch over me" Usagi smiled lovingly at him. "Truce" Their hands touched and warmth spread throughout Mamoru engulfing him. Suddenly amid the sunlight a warm, light rain began to fall. Kyoko put her hood on. Unfortunately Mamoru and Usagi didn't have hoods. It didn't bother Mamoru though. "Oh Mamo-chan, was Tokyo always so beautiful?" The rain and sunlight made the city look picturesque. It seemed so bright. He looked at her in the sunlight with her hair wet and an enchanting smile on her face. "You know what Usako? I think I've never seen you so beautiful", Mamoru said softly and she turned to him with a small smile on her pink lips. Her sea blue eyes glowed. It was at the tip of his tongue to say he loved her but knowing she'd never feel that way he kept his mouth closed. He was unaware that at the moment Usagi was thinking the same thing. "Thank you Mamo-chan", She said and she somehow felt like she was about to cry. "That's about the best compliment I've ever heard" He took her hand for a moment and surprisingly she didn't let go. It was perfect... Wrong again. As their lips began to meet Mamoru felt a splash hit his leg. Apparently Kyoko had decided that the best way to entertain herself was to kick puddles of water...on her brother. Usagi began to crack up seeing the Mamoru was in obvious disdain. "Bored Kyoko?" The girl nodded and Mamoru picked his sister up. "Maybe we should go home", Mamoru said seeing that his sister was tired. "Do you wanna come over?" Usagi's smile fell from her face. "Actually.... I have a date" His heart fell to his feet. "I'm sorry" "No it's alright. Have fun okay?" Usagi smiled and waved goodbye. Through his pain Mamoru managed to smile back. He wouldn't make her feel bad. Her happiness meant the world to him even if it meant losing her to someone else. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's sucks! I know! But well e-mail me anyways!
