RIGHT HERE WAITING(Part 10)

Darien laid on a bed,hands behind his head.It was torturous like
jail.God he wanted to call her.... A clock ticked restlessly back
and forth,back and forth.Getting up he paced around the room as the 
thought of her went through his mind.Serena...Serena...Serena... A 
knock on the door made him jump up from his bed and he waited in 
anticipation hoping it was her.Andrew entered and Darien sat back on 
his bed disappointed.
"Hey man.How's it going?",Andrew said and sat next to him.
"I'm sitting in this room by myself with only one thought in my 
head.HER.",Darien answered aggrevitated."How do you think it's going?"
"Darien you gotta get your mind off Serena for awhile",Andrew told him.
"It's been three days since you came here and you've been sitting on 
that bed like some pathetic loser" Darien gave him an angry look and 
Andrew edged away from him.He and Darien were about the same size 
but Darien could definitely hurt him!
"Well it's true",Andrew said and shrugged.Getting up he went into the 
closet and threw some clothes in Darien's face."Go outside and have 
fun.Get some fresh air and some sun.You're beginning to look like a 
dead person laying on that bed all the time"
"Hey!That's two insults in like a minute!You're asking for it Andrew!"
,he warned and got up.Looking outside at the sun shining on the city 
and all the people outside having fun,Darien decided maybe he would go 
out... "Maybe I should go...To the park or something."
"Yes!Please get out of here already!" Pushing his friend out the door,
he stopped when Darien turned and gave him a grateful smile.
"Thanks Andrew.You've been a good friend even after I lied to 
you",Darien said as he twisted the clothes he had in a bunch.
"Don't get all mushy on me!Plus I wouldn't listen so you couldn't 
tell me remember? I was just so happy that you had someone I wouldn't 
pay attention" Andrew put his hands in his pockets embarassed.Darien 
was beginning to feel a little down.All this talk was reminding him of 
Serena.Serena... Her beautiful face flashed in his mind making Darien
look down at the floor to cover his pained eyes.Andrew realized that 
his friend's happy feelings were diminishing and fast."Darien have 
faith.She loves you.I know she does,I saw it in her eyes just like I 
saw it in yours.I knew it all along even before you two even started to
get along!From the moment you called her "Meatball Head" I knew and 
I'm NEVER wrong when comes to this kind of thing"
"Thanks again man" Darien looked up and a big smile lit his handsome 
face."You really know how to cheer someone up"
"Don't worry about it!" Andrew patted his friend on the back."Just 
remember to make me the best man at your REAL wedding!"

"Brian what are YOU doing here?",Serena said holding the door for
support.Surprise but anger edged her voice.This was the jerk 
who had caused every single problem she had those past months.He was
the reason she was in this rut!Jerk.Should she kick him out?Should
she let him in?Should call her dad and tell him to bring his gun?
Serena was on the verge of blowing up,so she did the only thing she 
could do.She slapped him.
"OW!WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" Brian angrily looked at her as he rubbed
hid burning cheek.She never did that before.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!",Serna yelled back at him.She
wasn't a helpless crybaby anymore and she wasn't about to let him off 
the hook.Not after what she had gone through."IF I WASN'T IN SUCH A 
DELICATE CONDITION I WOULD HAVE DONE A HELL OF LOT MORE THAN SLAPPING
YOU ON THE FACE!" Steaming she managed to calm herself realizing that 
she was nine months pregnant and babies can hear everything in the 
womb.Even cursing.
"What's going on here?",Her father said rushing down the stairs 
followed by her mother.Sammy came out from the kitchen holding a huge 
sandwich."Who are you?"
"My apologies sir.My name is Brian Davis-"
"BRIAN!You're the jerk who hurt my daughter!",Ken yelled preparing to 
lunge at the young man who was looking VERY scared."ILENE GET MY GUN!"
"Honey as much as I'd like to" Ilene gave Brian a cold look and looked
back at her husband."Attempted murder is illegal"
"Mom,Dad I could handle this myself",Serena said and pushed them into 
the living room.Sammy stood by door a menacing look on his face.Brian 
looked at his shoe avoiding the young boy's hard gaze.Man this family 
really hated him.A cough interupted his thoughts and he looked up to 
see Serena.She was wearing a big pink robe and pajamas.Her hair was in 
a messy bun and no makeup swept her face."Now what do you want?"
"I wanted...to talk to you" He gave her a smile,it usually made her 
melt to the floor.Serena remained angry and he wiped the sweat 
off his brow nervously.She's not as soft as she use to be."Can I come 
in?"
"No",She answered pensively as he was about to go in.He took a step 
back.
"Could we at least talk?",he asked.Serena thought for a moment.Should
she listen to the jerk's side of the story?She couldn't be unfair about
it.
"I guess I could hear you out",Serena said sighing annoyed at him."Let 
me get dressed" Brian began to walked in but stepped back quickly as 
the door shut in his face.
"I'll just wait out here",he said to himself.

Darien walked around the park feeling a little better,though the 
pain in his heart didn't lessen.Everything in that damn park reminded 
him of her.They use to walk around here sometimes.He remembered their 
evening walks and the arguments they had in the park,whether her baby 
was a boy or girl.A cherry blossom fell from a tree and into his hands.
Sighing he felt that depressing feeling coming on again but a pair of
meatballs caught his attention.Hiding behing a tree Darien watched the
girl realizing it was Serena.His heart quicken at the sight of her but
who was the guy with her?Brian.The name passed through his head and he
looked at the guy.Yes it was indeed the bastard Brian.He walked closer
and listened on their conversation.
"Serena please just give me another chance",he begged and Serena 
remained closed up.Arms crossed against her chest."I know I don't
deserve you but I wanna spend the rest of my life with you and our
baby." Brian took out a velvet box,opening it for her Brian revealed
a solid gold ring with huge diamond right in the middle.Darien
heard Serena gasp and his fist tightened.Nothing however would
prepared him for what he was about to hear.
"Brian I do love you too..." With that Darien walked off his heart 
shattering million of pieces.

"Brian I do love you too...",Serena said to him but her eyes were hard.
Walking towards him she took the velvet box."But not as much I hate 
you" Serena closed the box and gave to to him.
"Serena what else do you need?",he said exasperated."I willing to
give you everything you need.A house,A new life,A husband...."
"Are you willing to give me everything I want?",she asked him and a
bewildered look crossed his face."Brian you're incapable of giving 
me anything I could possibly want" She looked at him,daggers in her 
eyes.She knew right then and there that she was over him.Serena was 
brokenhearted no more,she knew now that he just wasn't worth it. Serena looked up and it seemed that things were 
never so crystal clear to her.
"Serena what do you want?",he asked.Brian was beginning to
get fed up.
"I want someone who'll love more than anything in the world...I want
to someone who I know I could trust and wake up every morning more
in love with than ever...I want someone who would never hurt me...I 
want Darien..." Serena put her hand to her mouth disbelieving what she 
just said.She knew she had something in her for Darien but she never 
knew what.Was it love?She thought back to all the times he had been 
there for her.He had been the one to take care of her when she was 
heartbroken.He was the one who had been there through all the hard 
times and rescued her when she fell.She smiled when she remembered 
those stupid faces he had made when she was crying or how he 
pretended to be married to her knowing her father might literally 
mangle him or how he sold his pocketwatch...the only thing he ever felt 
was important to him...besides her."I love him...I love Darien" Serena 
smiled in realization and began to laugh happily.It seemed like a 
great weight had been lifted from her shoulders.She looked up at the 
sun which shone brightly down on her and realized what she had 
to do.Serena had to find him before she lost him if she hadn't 
already.
"I have to find him!" She began to leave but Brian stopped her.
"Wait a minute!Who's Darien?",he asked her.
"The guy I'm in love with and who I'm gonna lose unless you get out of
my way",she said quickly and he looked at her eyes.The light in them 
told him that this guy was defintely the man for her.He couldn't 
stopped it from happening.
"Hey you'll send me pictures of the baby right?",Brian said and she 
looked at him.Her eyes softened and she smiled at him,the first 
genuine one she gave him that whole day.Brian remembered why he had 
fallen in love with her.
"Of course",Serena said softly and he moved out of her way.Walking 
quickly out of the park Serena put together what she had to do.
"Hey Serena!",He called out to her and she turned around.Her bright
hair glowing in the sunlight and her turquoise eyes shining as she
looked at him."One more question.What can this Darien guy do for
you that I can't?" 
She smiled brightly and simply answered his question.
"He can love me"

Packing his suitcase Darien looked sadly at the picture of Serena he
had taken at the wedding.Her eyes shimmered and it seem as if she was 
looking at him.He sighed sadly and put it in with the rest of his 
belongings.Andrew entered and sat next to the suitcase.
"Darien are you sure you weren't imagining what you saw?",he asked
trying to put things in logical manner.
"Yes I pretty sure.I heard her say she loved him",he said as his 
voice began to break and he sat next to his friend.Andrew put a 
comforting arm around Darien.
"Darien don't leave before you find out the rest of the story" He 
looked at his friend not wanting him to make a mistake that could ruin
his life.
"I have to",Darien said and began to close his luggage.Looking at his 
watch he began to put his jacket on."I'll just go back to San Francisco
and go on my with my life" 
"Darien",he said and took his friend's shoulders."There's no such thing 
as a life without love" Darien looked up at him with tears in his eyes.
"Yeah well there's no such thing as love without her",Darien responded
and walked out the door leaving Andrew who was shaking his head sadly.

Running into her house Serena scrambled to kitchen where her mother's
keys for the van.Ilene and Ken sat next to the kitchen table drinking
coffee and to her surprise the Senshi was with them.
"What are you guys doing here?",she said and looked around the counter.
Where were those damn keys? "Mom where are the van keys?" 
"We were gonna invite you to go to the mall but you weren't here.
Then your mom told us about your little visit and so we stayed so
we could find out what the hell happened",Lita explained as Serena
looked into the drawers.A squealed escaped her lips as she held the keys 
triumphantly.
"Yes!Mom,Dad I'm going over to Andrew's I'll be back soon",Serena said
and left before explaining anything to her friends.
"Hey wait for us!",Mina yelled as they ran after her.The sound of the 
door slamming shut made Ilene and Ken look at each other.
"What was that all about?",Ken asked and his wife shrugged.It was just 
one of those days.

"What do you mean he's going back to SAN FRANCISCO!",Serena yelled as
she shook Andrew."I have to find him!" Panic gripped her insides and
Raye put her arm around Serena to calm her down.
"I don't know!After he saw you with Brian,he came back here and ordered
a ticket",Andrew told her and began to look around.Locating a piece of
paper,he handed it to Serena."Here.It has the flight number and which 
airline he's taking.Darien probably stopped by the apartment and got
his things so go there first" Andrew looked up at the clock in his 
living room."Serena you have half an hour to stop him so I suggest you
go!NOW!" Quickly Serena ran out the door and into her van while Senshi
hopped in with her.Stepping on the gas the van zoomed down the road 
scaring all the people who watched from sidewalk.
"Serena you think you could drive a little SLOWER!",Raye yelled
from the passengers seat.
"Sorry",Serena apologized her eyes still on the road and suddenly the 
car halted.Running to the apartment building Serena and the others 
went into the elvator.Tapping her foot Serena impatietly waited to get 
to the right floor.Elevator music played and she groaned angrily. The familiar ping of the 
elevator door opening made her sigh in relief and happily Serena walked 
out of the elevator.Opening the apartment door she looked around hoping 
Darien was there.
"Darien!Are you here?",she yelled and walked into the bedroom.It was
empty.Disappointed she tried again in the guest room and as she looked
in her eyes filled with tears.The whole room had been turned into a
nursery.The room was painted sky blue with white clouds everywhere.
A changing table stood next to the wall and a rocking chair was in 
the middle of the room.But what caught her attention was the crib.It 
was her crib.The one she had wanted at the baby store.Turning the 
mobile the familiar tune came on. Taking the Tuxedo 
Mask doll from the crib she looked at it for a moment realzing how 
strongly she loved Darien.
"Surprise",a voice said behind her.Mina walked into the room and
smiled at her.The others stood at the doorway looking at the 
tranquility of the room.
"Darien let us pick out the stuff",Raye said and glanced around the
room."Nice job huh?"
"Yeah",Serena said in choked voice and the tears fell on her shirt.
"You guys we better go",Ami said looking at her watch."We had 
approximately twenty five minutes and the airport is fifteen minutes
away.We should get going" They all nodded and ran out but Serena 
remained in a dazed until Raye dragged her away.
"Come on Serena.We're doing this for you,remember?",Raye said and 
pulled her out of the room."Oh yeah.This time I'M gonna drive!"
*****************************************************
"Flight 451...Gate 23!",Serena annouced and looked at her friends
who stood by the van.A nervous feeling went through her and they
could all tell.
"We'll be waiting here,Serena",Lita said and gave her thumbs up.
"Good luck",Mina said and hugged her friend.
"Make Darien realize what an idiot he is for trying to leave",Ami
said and smiled at her.
"According to Ami you have five minutes.So I'm not saying anything
but GO!" Serena nodded swiftly running into the airport.Raye smiled
and silently wished her friend the best.
"Ahhh the things we do for love",Mina said."You guys think she'll
get him"
"Definitely!Why shouldn't she?",Raye said defensively.
"Okay Raye calm down already",Mina rolled her eyes and crossed her
arms."Geez I was just asking!" She stuck her tongue out at Raye.
"Excuse me miss",a voice said and Mina turned around to see a
handsome young man with brown hair and light eyes.
"Yes?",Mina responded flirtatiously and batted her long pretty 
eyelashes.
"That girl running into the airport,was that by any chance Serena 
Tsukino?",he asked.
"Yup that was her",Raye said wary of the boy.She had a bad feeling 
around him."But who are you?" Eyeing him she looked at his casual
clothing and slicked back hair.He was cute but there was a glint in
his eyes that made her suspicious.
"Oh yeah!I haven't introduced myself.I'm Brian.Brian Davis-"
"You're Brian!",Raye said angrily.This was the jerk who had caused
her best friends pain and he wasn't about to get away with it.Putting
a smile on her face she got closer to him and quickly kneed him...in
the groin.Brian fell to the ground in great pain.The three girls looked
at Raye in surprise.
"WHAT?!",she said and shrugged at them.

Rushing towards the gates Serena looked at the numbers trying to
find twenty three.It had taken her forever to get through the
metal detector.Stupid coins.20...21...22...23! 
"Twenty three!",she said and rushed to the counter."Excuse me
did the plane take off already?"
"Sorry sweetie but it left a few minutes ago",the attendant said
and smiled at her."It was actually early this time"
"Early..." Her jaw dropped and her eyes went wide."You have to call
them BACK!!" She hit her fist against the counter scaring the woman.
"You don't know what I've gone through to get here!"
"I'm sorry" The woman looked at her sympathatically."But you've
missed it"
Serena walked over to the window at the plane going towards the clouds
and her eyes filled with tears.She looked at the woman with wet eyes.
"You don't understand ma'am.The guy I'm in love with is on that 
plane...."
