The Joy (Chapter Seven)

Nine months. Usagi looked at herself in the mirror and frowned at how
much her belly stood out. Now was she having a baby or an elephant?
Wow she WAS fat.

"I am FAT!", She said to herself and Mamoru came up from behind her
wrapping his strong arms around her. It had been two months of marital
bliss and he wondered why he didn't marry her sooner. "Mamo-chan,
do you think I'm fat?"

He could either win something or LOSE something. Boy he better make
this good.

"Not at all Usako", He whispered. "That's OUR child you're carrying"

"Am I ugly?", Usagi asked him worriedly and looked in the mirror.

"Usako, tell me what you see in the mirror?", Mamoru told her.

"An huge whale", She responded and he looked in the mirror with
her. He would have to say that he disagreed.

"I see a young woman with long golden hair and skin as creamy as 
vanilla. Sweet strawberry lips and eyes so deep I could get lost 
in them. Usako, you are so beautiful, don't you ever doubt it"
His warm voice penetrated something inside of her and she turned
to him with tears in her eyes.

"Why are you so good to me?", Usagi said to him.

"Because I love you"

"Will you please SHUT HER UP?!", Haruka said as Mirichu laid against 
her. The annoying notes of some children's song played in the background
and Miya's childish voice sang along. It had been the same song they 
have heard for hours. "How could anyone listen to this crap?"

"Well it's better that she's in there listening to that then messing
with you", Minako pointed out. 

"I love you, you love me, we are one big family, with a great big hug
and kiss from me to you", Miya sang coming into the room with her little
plastic bat. "Won't you say YOU LOVE ME TOO!" As she sang the last words
of the song she firmly bopped Haruka on the head with the bat. Taking
Miya by the diaper Haruka held her out to Rei who had just come in.

"Take her before I kill her", Haruka said seething. Yuuichirou took 
his daughter and put her down.

"Is everyone here?", Rei asked and put down all the food. A tray 
filled with sweets, everyone drooled. "So where's everyone else's 
food Yuuichirou? You didn't expect me to share this small amount 
of food with everyone?" Her husband's head dropped in defeat as
he walked into kitchen.

"Mommy and daddy number two are still missing", Setsuna said 
drawing a design. Rei and Usagi had inspired her to branch 
into a line of clothing. Maternity clothes. There are never 
any fashionable maternity clothes. "Hotaru is coming later"

"Does anyone know what to get Usagi and Rei?", Makoto asked
and looked at Ami reading against the wall. "What's that?"

"A book on home births", She responded. Enough said. The
sounds of footsteps came up the stairs to the Shrine and
in enter Mamoru and Usagu flushed from walking up the stairs.

"We're here!", Usagi said in her hands a pillow. "Gomen everyone
I'm having a horrible indegestion" Mamoru helped sit her on the
floor.

"What took you two so long?", Motoki asked as he played cards with
Minako.

"IhadtopaintUsako'stoenails", Mamoru mumbled.

"Huh?", His friend responded.

"I had to paint Usako's toenails", Mamoru said slower this time. 
Everyone cracked up and Yuuichirou placed some food for everyone.
The group eagerly dug in except for Usagi who laid back.

"Is anything wrong Usagi?", Mirichu asked and put a concern hand
on her shoulder.

"I'll be fine-Ah-CHOO!" She sneezed. Mirichu jumped back and Usagi's 
eyes went wide.

"Oh no", Usagi moaned.

"What's wrong Usako?", Mamoru asked.

"My water just broke", She cried. "And on Rei's carpet"

"ON MY WHAT?!", Rei yelled then doubled over. "Oh great"

"What?", Her husband asked holding her up.

"Now MY water broke", Rei replied in pain.

"OHMIGOD, WHERE'S MY CAMERA?", Yuuichirou said and ran ro his room.

"How do we get them out of here?", Minako asked and covered her face. 
"I think I'm gonna be sick"

"We don't get them out", Ami informed them. After helping both women 
lay down she looked up calmly up at them. "One of you has to check how 
dialated Rei is" 

"Go ahead Motoki", Minako said and pushed him forward.

"No way!", He responded. Rei cried out and her husband took her hand.
Mamoru helped Usagi sit up.

"Mamoru...*pant*...the baby isn't due for a week...*pant*...this
was suppose to be our last week of fun before we became parents...
*pant" Her face crumbled into tears. "...I don't think I'm having much 
fun!"

"It's ok Usako, we're bringing our baby into the world", He said.

"Mamoru's right", Yuuichirou said.

"OH SHUT UP!", Rei scoffed. "Are there any babies coming out of YOU?!"

"There's gonna be babies popping out anywhere!", Makoto moaned  as she 
placed pillows under the moms. "It's gonna be like one of tennis ball
machines"

"I don't think so...I mean Usagi's still got her stockings on", Setsuna 
told her.

"So which one of you is it gonna be?", Ami asked exasperated. Everyone
was quiet for a moment before Mirichu stepped forward.

"I'll do it", She said as her and Ami knelt to reach the two women.
Yuuichirou handed the camera to Haruka who decided to have a little
fun.

"On Tokyo News, Rei Kumada and Usagi Chiba give birth together", She 
said. "Let's have our live interview at the scene" Walking over to 
the two who glistened with sweat she stuck the camera in Usagi's face.
"How are you feeling?"

"How do you think, YOU IDIOT! I've something the size of a watermelon
COMING OUT OF ME and you ask me how I'm FEELING?! I'll show you how I'm
feeling...", She growled and Haruka walked away slowly.

"And you Rei, how are you?", She asked to the brunette panting heavily.

"Get out of my face", She said through her teeth.

"I'm documenting this for your kids to see", Haruka said lightly. "Now
tell me whoa-" Rei had grabbed the camera strap from around Haruka's
neck. She was now face to face with Rei.

"Get out of my face or I'll get up right now and get that gun I have in
my room", Rei said. That was all Haruka needed to back off. The sound of
footstep coming up the stairs as Hotaru and Shingo came up. *THUNK* 
Poor Shingo. He passed out before he could even come into the Shrine, 
they had left the panel open so the ordeal was in plain sight of 
everyone.

"What's going on?", Hotaru asked.

"The punishment for no protection", Motoki said. Haruka gave the camera
to Yuuichirou and covered Hotaru's eyes. After telling her to get Miya
and wake Shingo she push them off into another room.

"Now Usagi, Rei I need both of you to find out some kind of focus 
point", Ami informed them.

"Like what?", Usagi cried.

"Like me", Mamoru told her.

"But you're ugly...", She whimpered in pain. Ouch.

"I WILL NOT LOOK AT THAT IDIOT!", Rei yelled. "He got me into this!"

"I'm not the one who wears the sexy lingerie", Yuuichirou argued.

"That was more than I wanted to hear", Minako said. Yuuichirou
started his camera again filming poor Mamoru as Usagi yelled,
cried and hit.

"Smile man!", He said to Mamoru who was in no mood to smile.

"Get away from me!", Mamoru said crankily and pushed Yuuichirou. In 
anger he pushed Mamoru back. In minutes the two were on the ground
beating the crap out of each other. The two wives watched in disbelief.

"I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY'RE DOING THIS NOW", Rei said to Mirichu. "This 
is supposed to be MY moment!"

"YOU ARE SO IN TROUBLE MAMORU CHIBA!", Usagi said then cried out again. 

The two obviously were not paying attention. Between the fight they 
were unaware that one of their wives was giving birth. Suddenly the 
cries of a baby were heard.

"Congratulations it's a girl", Haruka said grinning with tears in her 
eyes.

"Congratulations man", Yuuichirou said patting Mamoru. All was 
forgiven.

"It's not his, it's YOURS", Haurka said. In Rei's arms laid a small 
bundle.

"NO IT'S NOT! I already have one", He sputtered.

"Actually TWO. Counting this one", Mamoru said with a laugh. He joined
his wife.

"Honey...it's suppose to be a BOY! Isn't there another one in there?", 
Yuuichirou said in disbelief.

"Usagi, it's your turn", Ami said.

Usagi and Mamoru gripped each others hands and Mamoru kissed the side
of her head. Usagi's lips pressed tightly together as she pushed.

"One more Usagi!", Ami told her. Usagi felt herself on fire but pressed
on and with one final rip she screamed. Mamoru watched as Ami held up
the baby. "A boy" Tears falling from her eyes and a lovely grin on her
face.

"Usako, we have a son", Mamoru said and Ami handed him the baby wrapped
in a blanket. "Hello" The small head had a tuft of dark haired with a 
pair of Usagi's baby blues and her long lashes. "I'm a dad"

"I'm a mom", Usagi said and smiled tiredly. "Mindboggling, isn't it?"
Everyone moved in for a closer. Miya entered timidly and walked to her
mommy.

"Miya, come see your sister", Rei beckoned and the little girl peeked
into the blanket. A cute smile came on her face.

"Ish baby?", She asked and Yuuichirou nodded. Maybe another girl 
wouldn't be so bad. "Mommy, can I have a baby too?" Yuuichirou
and Rei looked at each other.

"NO!"

As the sun went down, a handful of stars spread across the night sky
and Mamoru held his little boy as Usagi laid in the spare bed at Rei's.
The baby gurgled happily and Mamoru laughed.

"Aren't you the excited little boy?", He cooed and went to sit next to
Usagi who opened her eyes.

"Hey daddy", She whispered.

"Hey", He responded and kissed her on the lips. "Thank you" His eyes
were full of tears.

"For what?", She asked.

"For giving me life", He answered. "For loving me"

"I wouldn't have it any other way", Usagi answered smiling. "I love
you Mamo-chan" She swallowed the lump in her throat. "You made my
wishes come true" Usagi laughed. "Enough crying" She moved to give 
space to Mamoru. "Get some rest" Mamoru obliged and Usagi took her
baby in her arms.

That's how Minako and the others found them, asleep in each others
arms.
