On February 7th, the Japanese seiyuu, Shiho Niiyama, passed 
away of a leukemia like disease. She was 29 years old. Best known 
for her role as Seiya Kou/Sailor Starfighter from Bishoujo Soldier
Sailormoon.

My story is dedicated to her. May she rest in peace.

Then You Look At Me (Chapter Two: Don't Cry Outloud)

"You know, I can't help but wonder what Seiya thinks about this whole 
thing", Rei said to Minako and Makoto as they sat in a coffee shop near 
their college. She had seen Seiya's face before he pasted the really 
fake smile, he could sing but he couldn't act if his life depended on
it.

"He's crushed, Yaten told me that as soon as they moved in their 
apartment he's been in his room", Minako said, her eyes looked sad.
"Sometimes I understand perfectly how he feels" They were quiet for
a moment reflecting on the whole triangle. It was sad, kind of. The
fact that Seiya and Mamoru couldn't look each other in the eye and
there in the middle stood innocent Usagi, unaware that two men loved
her. And all of them were cowards for not telling her, they were 
afraid to ruin her peace and contentment.

"So...how did you know bout Seiya?", Makoto asked teasingly. Minako 
gave her a small smile.

"I found out at dinner...with Yaten...on our...date", She said 
blushing.

"How was it?", Rei said and took a sip of her drink.

"Sublime", Minako responded with an airy tone to it.

"Sublime? What ever happened to just saying nice?", Rei said mockingly.

"I had to think of something better than just NICE", She responded. 
"And at least I have a date to brag about" Well she's in trouble.

"You're gonna get it", Rei said in a warning tone. "And plus I don't 
need a date" She looked down at her hands. Makoto gave her a warm 
smile.

"You like someone, eh?", Makoto asked. Rei looked up at her with a 
brilliant smile.

"Not just like, love someone", She said. "I'm in love with Yuuichirou,
very much" Her eyes filled with tears.

"You've never said it, have you?", Minako asked.

"I-I can't...I just can't", Rei answered as the tears fell. How could 
she be in love with someone with she didn't even what love was. A dead
mother, a father who hardly cared for her. And since grandpa died last
year she no one but Yuuichirou. How would she say she was in love when
she knew nothing of it. She quickly wiped her eyes and let out a tense
laugh. "Oh well, all's fair in love and war"

"It doesn't look like Seiya's the only one in love", Makoto responded
and silently everyone took a sip of their drinks.

"You can't stay in this room forever", Yaten said to his brother as 
they sat in his room. The blinds had been drawn closed and this was 
good for Seiya since he was suffering a nice hangover. Over the two 
weeks he had discovered a nice thing called alcohol. "This just won't 
do"

"Please don't make me sick", Seiya said to his brother. "I don't need
this right now" He felt like tearing himself up, like he couldn't do
anything about this unexplainable sadness in him. "...Please" His eyes
began to water. Both brother looked at each other in uncertainty.

"Maybe you should go for a walk?", Taiki suggested.

"No-"

"Come on, just for an hour", Yaten said. "You'll feel better, I know 
it" He put an arm around his brother. "Please, for us" Seiya looked 
into their pleading eyes and nodded. Going to the bathroom they heard 
the soft click of the door closing.

"Sometimes I regret coming back", Taiki said shaking his head.

The sun shone brightly and Seiya removed the sunglasses to let the 
heat hit his face. They were right, he did fell a LITTLE better. He 
could be better though. He saw that many girls looked at him with 
adoration and though that use to make him happy, it didn't matter. 
Suddenly he felt himself run into someone.

"Excuse me-Mamoru?" There stood the man who caused all his misery. 
Mamoru. Bitterness flowed through him or was that liquor? "What are 
you doing here?"

"Once in awhile I come here-to think", Mamoru told him. "May I join 
you?" Seiya nodded and they both sat down to watch the children play.
The scene seem awkward as they remained silent toward one another. It
had the been the first time the two had ever been alone. 

"So...how's Usagi doing with the wedding?" Conservation topics were 
scarce.

"You know how girls are...always leaving the groom out of all the
details...so I don't really know", Mamoru said uneasily.

"That's...nice", Seiya responded. Another pause of silence. "May I 
ask you something?"

"Sure"

"How does it feel to have someone like Usagi love you?", He asked and 
Mamoru looked at him, his eyes narrowing. A note of envy in his voice,
perhaps it was the alcohol that he had obviously been drinking. 
Nevertheless he answered the question.

"Being loved by Usagi is like having the whole world in the palm of
your hand", He said breathlessly thinking of his love. "To have the
light in your face every second of everyday and to truly know how it
feels to be love and truly love someone" Mamoru closed his eyes to
see her smiling face. "And to me being love by Usagi is what makes
my whole life worth anything"

He didn't even realized the Seiya had tears in his eyes.

"I'm glad that she's marrying someone great like you", Seiya said 
hiding his face as he looked down. "Take care of her Mamoru and 
accept my apologies for being a jerk all this time"

"It's okay, I know that you love her too", Mamoru said and gave Seiya 
a genuine smile. They had reached an understanding and though unspoken
a great respect-almost affectionate towards each other. "Friends?"

"Yeah...friends", Seiya agreed and a painful smile came to his face. 
His heart beating sadly.

"I've gotta go, Usako is expecting me", He said and got up. After a 
final goodbye he walked off. Turning back as he was about to disappear
over a small hill he waved at Seiya and in response Seiya smiled at 
him.

He however didn't the tears behind that smile. Seiya was sure to wipe 
them away before he saw.
