WARNING:
This story is way into the alternate reality point.
Be prepared for something very different. It starts
out with Rei but Usagi and Mamoru are in this story.
This fic is completely different and some of the 
things you may read are for more mature readers so 
I am warning you to stop reading this story if you 
are not the appropriate age or maturity for it. This 
will contain some sexual content but it is NOT a lemon. 
Ages may be different among other things. 

Another turning point;
a fork stuck in the road.

Time Of Your Life (Chapter Two)

The fall leaves came into view and soon two weeks had passed. It had 
been slow but in the end being sent here wasn't that bad. Usagi was 
there to talk to and the girl's bubbly manner had somewhat irratated 
but also won her over. Mamoru still remained quiet and reserved towards
her but there were many times when she saw him watching her. Studying 
her perhaps.

"Why does Mamoru stare at me sometimes Usa?", Rei asked one afternoon 
as they sat in the kitchen. Usagi was preoccupied at the moment in a 
slice of pie, her hunger was insatiable. On the other hand even when 
she wasn't pregnant she couldn't control her cravings. Oh well. Now 
was not the time to think of it, now was PIE TIME.

That was until Rei started talking.

"Why do you always ask me when I'm eating?!", Usagi questioned looking
at the girl who innocently pouting at her. Man, the pouting thing use
to be her weapon and now it was being used against her. "Damn" Putting
the fork down she adjusted herself comfortably. "Rei, you look like 
your mother"

"I do?", She said. "I can't even remember her face" Rei swallowed her 
tears and looked at Usagi who's eyes was fill with sympathy and care.

"Looking at you is too much for him sometimes, it just reminds him of 
what he lost and how much time he lost with you", Usagi said and took
her hand. "He sees so much of her in your eyes, you don't remember her
but he still feels her in the house. Now that you're here it's like 
she's back but when he sees how different you are from her too it
reminds him that she's still gone"

"How do you know this?" She gripped Usagi's hand. "Did he tell you 
this?"

"No, he didn't need to", Usagi replied softly and her eyes looked far
away. "I just know. When your brother opens just a little of his soul
I hold to what I can and keep it in here" She put a fist to her heart
and looked into Rei's eyes.

"I wish I knew how she looked", Rei said wistfully and Usagi's eyes 
brightened.

"Sometimes wishes come true", Usagi responded and led her to her and
Mamoru's bedroom. The room was big with two windows and couch. In a
small boxed part of the room the bed stood. Opening the closet Usagi
took out a small box and opening revealed dozens of photographs. One
of them showed a woman with dark chocolate hair to her shoulders and
dark blue eyes. "That's your mother"

"She's so beautiful", Rei whispered and never realized that a lone
tear fell from her eyes. The eye color was different but she felt
they were the same. "If only I could remember one thing about her"

"In time you might", Usagi said. "You inherited her beauty, lucky
you!" Usagi laughed and Rei joined as tears fell from her eyes, the
tension broken for a moment.

"How did she die? How did they both die?", Rei asked and Usagi shook
her head.

"That's for Mamoru to tell you", She said. "That's not my story"

"What are you doing?", A voice said from behind them. Mamoru.
His eyes blazed and he stepped in. "Usagi I told you not to
look through my things and you-" He looked at Rei angrily.

"Leave her alone", Usagi said as angry as him. "She wanted to
see HER mother. Let her be. Pick on someone else MAMORU" Usagi
stood up to him defensively.

"I don't want to see you in here AGAIN", He reprimanded Rei. "When 
I let you live here I expected you to mind your own business"

"Well my mother is MY BUSINESS!", Rei yelled back as she sobbed. "Why
did you want me here anyway if you weren't going to tell me anything
and keep me blind to my own family! You are a jerk and an ass and if
you kick me out I DON'T CARE!" Turning she left the room and slammed
her bedroom door.

"What was with that whole I'm-the-boss-attitude?" Usagi said as her 
own eyes blazed. "Did you expect her not to ask?"

"Of course I did but not this early in her arrival-"

"Deal with it Mamoru, it's not just you anymore. It's her too. It's me.
It is US", She argued in his face. The two were in face to face combat.

"There is no US", He sneered. Something in her eyes shattered but Usagi
recovered quickly.

"You've made it pretty clear that you want to be alone for the rest 
of your life! DAMNED IF I CARE! Get the hell out of here!", She yelled.

"It's my room", Mamoru responded smugly.

"Okay then I'll sleep on the couch", Usagi said and gathered her blanket 
and pillow. Muttering a bunch of words you wouldn't want to hear she 
left the room.

And finally it was quiet.

The full moon lit the small house and Mamoru in his robe walked through
the dark hall. Quietly he opened Rei's room and saw that she was in her
day clothes and wearing her slippers as she slept on the bed. Sitting
next to her he removed the slippers and put a blanket it on her.

"I am so sorry...sis", Mamoru said quietly and realized how much hurt
he had caused. "Man I am such an ASS!"

"It happens to the best of us", Usagi said coming to the doorway, a 
blanket wrapped around her body. He gave a half-smile to her and
stood up. Walking over to her he put a hand on her shoulder and
something in her shook him off quickly. "Let's go to bed"

Closing the door they headed to their room and Rei opened her eyes
and smiled before falling asleep again.

Both sitting in the kitchen Usagi and Rei both with cups in 
their hands read the morning paper. Rei the job advertisements 
and Usagi...the funnies.

"HAHAHA! This Charlie Brown! What a RIOT!", Usagi said laughing loudly
as Rei smiled at her and then went back to her paper. Mamoru entered
as he fixed his tie and Usagi stood up.

"You're not going to work today, are you?", She said disappointed. 
"What if the baby comes today?"

"You're a week overdue Usa, I think the kid is planning to stay there 
till college", Mamoru told her and kissed her hair quickly before it
was noticed by Rei who noticed anyways.

"Uhh...I don't think so because of the kid doesn't come out soon then 
I'm in the right mind to yank it out myself", Usagi said.

"Now that's a pretty picture", Rei quipped and went back to her paper.

"I have to go", Mamoru informed her as gently as he could to a overdue
young girl with the temper of a child.

"No", She said.

"I'm leaving", He told her again and began to walk out of the kitchen.

"Get him Rei!" Quickly Rei dove to Mamoru's feet and caught hold of 
one of his legs.

"Rei this isn't funny" He began to drag her with him. "Really I mean 
it, GET OFF ME!" In vain Mamoru attempted to shake her off as Usagi 
watched her arms crossed. "Is it like a WOMAN thing that you guys 
have?"

"Yeah really we all go to these meeting and plot torture to any male 
speciman near us. That's something a woman is BORN with", Usagi said. 
"We just wanna spend some time with you" She batted her eyeslashes 
and gave him a smile. "Please"

"Yeah please", Rei said as she held on to his leg and give him an 
innocent smile. He held on a hard face but in his eyes she saw that
he was smiling inside.

"Oh okay" Mamoru left to change and Usagi laughed as Rei got off the
floor.

"Why do they always fall for that trick?"

The trio sat silently on the small boat as they floated down the 
solitary lake. Usagi lean against Mamoru and Rei dipped her hand
into the clear lake. As the sun set Usagi sat up and in a calm
tone told them that she was having the baby.

"WHAT?!", Rei said and sat up quickly. "Mamoru ROW!"

"The oars are on your side", He told her as he held Usagi up.

"Oh yeah", She said sheepishly and in a panic turned...to push one of 
the oars in the water. "DAMNIT!" Taking the other oar she attempted
to grabbed but pushed it even farther. WHY?! In her words this bit the
big one.

"Is the baby coming?", Mamoru asked in a scared tone. Oh man this 
wasn't good. 

"No I'm breathing like this and sweating like a pig because I like it 
you MORON", Usagi said in pain. "I am not having this baby in a BOAT
not even if I have to swim" Getting up she was pushed down quickly
by the two siblings who were even more scared than her.

And in turn the boat flipped over...

And they fell...

Into the water...

Which was knee deep...

Boy was she MAD...

"You IDIOTS!", Usagi yelled and hit both Rei and Mamoru. "Get out
of my way!" Quickly she stood up as the two siblings rubbed their
arms in pain.

"It could be worse", Rei answered in fake optimism. Mamoru looked
at Usagi who was in rage and shook his head.

"No not really", He answered back as he stood to help her.

"One more", The ambulance attendant instructed and Usagi beared down 
with both Rei and Mamoru on each side supporting her. Closing her eyes
Usagi put her strength into it and didn't stop until she heard the baby 
cry out. "A girl"

They handed her to Usagi and she succumbed to the overwhlming emotion 
in her. How happy she was and Usagi could hardly keep her happy sobs 
in. The child with dark hair and bright eyes wiggled but quickly 
settle as her small head laid on her mother's chest. Rei watched in 
amazement and couldn't stop the grin from exploding on her face. 
Mamoru watched  quietly as if he were afraid any noise from him would 
ruin the precious moment unfolding. The hardness in him crumbled and 
they watched as tears of release and happiness fell down his cheeks.

"So what's her name?", The attendant asked.

"Tamlyn", Usagi stated as she looked at her child. Their mother's name. 
Rei smiled.

"It's perfect", Mamoru said and in turn they all agreed.

Usagi sat up in bed as she went to see to the baby. After a check-up
and her clean bill of health Usagi decided she wanted to go home. 
Walking to the bassinet she saw that Mamoru was up and in his arms 
was Tamlyn cooing softly. In her heart something warmed at the sight
of them.

"I wonder what she has from me", Mamoru said. "I'm afraid almost to 
find out. Putting the child in her bassinet down they stood face to 
face in the moonlight. Looking into his eyes she instictively reached 
for his hand.

"Whatever she gets from you I'm sure it will be the best thing about 
her", Usagi said quietly. He looked back at her for a moment and then
suddenly coughed.

"We should go to bed", He told her. Usagi looked once more in his eyes
and seeing the subject was closed then nodded acceptingly. 

After all he didn't want her to get too close.
