Minako's Manga Variety
Minako is the original senshi. Naoko really wanted to make a manga
about teen superheroes, sailor suits, romance, some video games
and cute school uniforms^^ Sailor V was created,
and since it was so successful Sailor Moon was created
for the Toei anime company to make the anime show. Naturally there were changes, but some
were not even approved of by Naoko. Naoko has other mangas, and
here's a list of some of them:
The Cherry Project
Code Name wa Sailor V
Miss Rain
Prism Time
PQ Angels
Itsumo Issho Ne
Comiket Paper
Maigo no Swing
Chocolate Christmas
Most of these can be read at
The Manga of Takeuchi Naoko,
translations by Alex Glover.
Drawing Manga is a tough process. Here's how a short-story manga is made for a magazine:
- Manga writers meet with publishers to discuss ideas. The writer creates a draft and shows it to the publisher. If there is anything the publisher does not like, the manga artist will have to do the draft all over again.
- The writer and his/her assistants must create the manga:
- Create the rough drafts.
- Trace the pictures in ink.
- "X" off the areas to fill in with black. This is to remember to color them in.
- Tone cutting- using tone sheets to create shadow effects, backgrounds, and outfit colors. ex: Usagi's Sailor skirt is colored with tone in the manga.
- Submit the manga by the deadline.
- REST. After working nonstop for so long with no breaks except lunch and bathroom, you're TIRED. (And imagine the backpain!)
