On a drive to the countryside, with Savage Garden's 'Animal Song' playing in the background, Kyoko asks Shuji who's in the passenger seat "Didn't you bring a recorded tape or anything?" "Huh?" "It's pretty common you know...going on a drive with one's girlfriend & recording nice music for the occasion..." Shuji laughs "Gives me the chills..." "What?" Shuji explains "What you're saying makes me shiver...only those that don't have the confidence to talk or feel inferior that do that..." "Aaah..." "What?" "Those that are popular are different after all..." "Well since you brought it up, I'm pretty good at the salon...pretty popular..." Kyoko suddenly makes a sharp right turn into the woods, cutting him off "Ah, we turn here..." A thud comes from inside the car & Shuji complains "Ow! No one said to turn!" "Feel like going, I go..." "What is this..." Shuji sounding exasperated......

With trees all around, Shuji looks around checking the map muttering "...going straight on & then turning right...going right...don't know..." Not really knowing where they are, Shuji says to Kyoko "Shall we just go on ahead like this?" "Hm?" "Hm?" "Uhm..." Shuji throws the map back in the car, stretching & looks at Kyoko, who stares back at him. Shuji asks "What are you doing?" "Hm?" "My turn...when are you going to keep on driving until?" Shuji opens the door & carries Kyoko out, muttering at the same time "Carrying on like this we won't know where we're going..." As Shuji carries Kyoko around the car to the passenger seat, Kyoko says "It's a little scary around here...as if we can be attacked...like there are foxes around..." Shuji replies "They won't come...open the door...get in..." as Kyoko opens the door...

Masao goes on a drive with Sachi, music playing in the background. Masao says happily "Isn't this nice? It's akai suiito pii...after this is Southern All Stars' manatsu no kajitsu, the next one is Yuumin's futou wo wataru kaze...when we go on the highway it'll be Dreams Come True..." Sachi takes the tape cassette cover from the dashboard & looks at it "Masao, you made this tape?" "Yes, just good songs..." "No western music?" "Eh?" "Ah, nothing, nothing..." "Ah, sorry about this truck...I wanted to borrow Kyoko's Vita but when I got up this morning, she'd already gone out..." Masao sings along with the music & then asks "Sachi, what songs do you like?" "Ah...Back Street Boys..." "Oh...they're great aren't they...their music..."

As Shuji helps Kyoko out of the car, she looks around "Ah feels great! Air feels different..." "...great isn't it..." "just like the popular guy that knows the best viewpoint..." "Huh?" replies Shuji, pushing Kyoko along. Kyoko laughs "I'm annoying huh..." "It's fantastic..." Shuji tells her, pushing her to the best spot to see Mt Fuji in the distance. Kyoko marvels at the scene Mt Fuji beyond the lake "Uwaaaaa..." Shuji says "Isn't something?" Kyoko agrees "Really something..." then turn to looks at Shuji as he goes down on his heels next to her "That's become a habit hasn't it..." "What has?" "Going down on your heels very often..." Shuji nods "Ahh...well, sort of..." As the both of them admire the beautiful scenery, Kyoko says "It's fantastic, Mt Fuji..." "Uhm..." "...can see Mt Fuji, can see the blue sky, can see the gentle greenery...can see Shuji's beautiful eyes..." Shuji looks at Kyoko & then a little embarrassed, laughs "What are you saying? Idiot..." Kyoko continues "Such a beautiful place like this, it's like my heart's transparent...feels like I can say anything...so I said it..." Shuji scratches his head, thinking "Shall I say it too..." Kyoko looks at him "Hm?" Shuji looks at her "Huh? What?" standing up. Kyoko pouts "What..." & then looks back out at the scenery in front of her. From his pocket, Shuji takes out a key & holds it over her shoulder "Here..." Kyoko looks at it "What...it's not a ring?" Shuji grabs the key back from her "Then forget it..." "I was kidding..." Forget it..." "I was kidding..." "Forget it..." "Give it to me..." "What?" "...please..." With a smile, Shuji gives the key to Kyoko. Taking it, Kyoko smiles "Shuji's apartment key..." Shuji tells her "It's not...it's the key to the elephant's cage at Ueno Zoo..." Kyoko looks at him with a frown as Shuji adds "If you go by the back there's an elevator so even a wheelchair can go up..." Kyoko nods with a smile "Uhm..." "I'll keep the foyer clear so you can come anytime..." "Uhm..." "So come over anytime..." "Uhm..." "That's to say......please...come..." With a big smile, Kyoko looks at him "Thank you...I'm really happy..." Suddenly embarrassed, Shuji walks towards the lake "Mt Fuji looks good enough to eat..." as Kyoko happily holds the key in her hand...

As Kyoko comes into the living room, Masao's at the table scribbling on a piece of paper muttering to himself "...wait a minute, no matter how it's 27, then add 3 so 30...if we try a little maybe 29..." Kyoko looks at him puzzled "Oni-chan..." Startled, Masao frantically puts his hands to cover his scribbling "What?" Kyoko explains "I need to take my medication, could you get me some water please?" "OK..." replies Masao, getting up. Kyoko adds "Also, looks like the fluorescent light isn't working..." "Again?" moans Masao as he walks out of the room, Kyoko saying "Sorry..." With Masao out of the room, Kyoko goes over & picks up the paper from the table, reading Masao's scribbles "Sachi...27 years old, first child; 29 years old, second child; 30 years old, use savings to go on a holiday to Hawaii with the whole family...by that time I'll be 35..." Masao comes back in & seeing Kyoko reading his paper, frantically rushes over to grab it back from her "Wha...wha...what are you doing!" Kyoko asks "Oni-chan, what's that?" "Huh? It's my plan for our lives..." "If she finds out she'll hate it..." "Eh? Really?...Don't tell her...don't tell her...ok?" Kyoko gives a brother a grin "I won't..."

In her room, Kyoko takes out the medication out of a paper bag. Masao brings Kyoko a glass of water, entering her room without knocking & Kyoko says "Oni-chan!" "Knock!" "Really..." Masao puts the glass of water on the dresser table "Here..." "Thank you..." As he goes out, he pauses & asks "Your medication's increasing?" "Why?" "But, you didn't take it outside..." "You're really observant...I thought mom would notice too but it's ok...it's always increased & decreased, it's normal..." "Uhm...then it's ok..." Kuniko calls "Masao, bath..." "Alright!" & then to Kyoko "Sleep early, don't over do it..." Masao says, walking out. "I know..." replies Kyoko, taking her medication...

At a movie theatre, a diamond engagement ring commercial comes on "It's the most important...the most important time, so it's a special diamond..." Beneath the diamond ring, the words "Because diamonds are forever...3 month salary engagement ring..." Masao & Sachi sit next to each other, rather awkward...

After the movie, Masao drops Sachi off at her apartment. Sachi says "Then, goodnight..." "Uhm...ah Sachi!" Masao gets out of the pickup to talk to her "Uhm...that...how much is the salary?" "Mine?" "No, no, no...I've never worked in a company before...I don't know how much a 3 month salary is..." "The ring?" "Uhm..." "Buying one?" "Uhm..." "Masao..." "Yes?" "That makes me really happy...really happy, thrilled but...can I make a suggestion?" "Suggestion?" "That's to say...a favor...or that's to say, pride..." Masao doesn't understand "Pride?" Embarrassed, Sachi says "What am I saying..." Masao asks "What?" Sachi plucks up the courage "Normally..." "Normally..." "Normally, in dramas one sees people saying things like 'I don't want to go home tonight'..." Masao nods "Uh...huh?" "Don't want to go home but this is my home..." "Uhm..." "Saying I don't want to go home...it's a little strange..." Masao says "What is it?" Sachi gives up "That's my line!" "But I don't understand!" "You're an idiot!" Someone walks by & then Sachi says "This is reversed! Nowadays, nothing happening before marriage is strange! This is not the Meiji Period!" Realization finally dawns on Masao, who asks hesitatingly "Is it alright? Staying over..." Sachi looks at him & nods "Yes..." Looking around rather sheepishly, he takes Sachi's hand...

In the library canteen, Kyoko gloatingly waves Shuji's key about in front of Sachi. Sachi asks "What is it?" "A key...key of love..." Sachi grabs it from Kyoko "This is the key to the gorilla's cage?" "Why? Why all of you..." "I know...it's the key to Shuji's apartment right? Ah, me too..." Sachi flashes the ring on her finger to Kyoko before hiding it. Kyoko looks surprised "What?" Sachi brushes her hair with her hand "Ah, you didn't see it?" Sachi holds out her hand to Kyoko who sees the engagement ring on Sachi's finger & pretends to be a photographer "Ah! It's beautiful! Basha basha...basha basha...look this way please...basha basha...how many carats?...basha basha..." "About 1.5 carats I guess..." Kyoko asks "When?" "The last time..." "Last time when? Let me see, let me see..." "Eternal light..." "Really?" "Really...glittering..."

The phone rings in the Machida home & Masao answers "Hello...ah doctor! How are you...thank you for help......eh?"

Outside in the shop, Kyoko serves a customer "400yen...thank you..." & punches it into the register "400yen..."

On the phone, Masao says "...me? Yes...yes...Outpatient...3rd department of internal medicine? Ah, yes...yes..."

Kyoko drives to Shuji's apartment, happily holding the key given to her...

On Hot Lip's day closed, Takumi goes in & looks for the Hot Lip customer list. Finding a file & looking at it, Takumi recalls Hirazawa saying "I want you a copy of the customer list..." At that moment, Satoru walks in "What are you doing?" Takumi hides the file behind him "Hm? Didn't you go to the show in Shirokiyama?" "Went already...the models there are really something..." Takumi says "Otsukare..." & leaves. As he goes out, Shuji walks in. Takumi asks "How was the show today?" "Huh?" Satoru sees the file Takumi's holding "Wait a minute...that...isn't that the customer list?" Shuji says "Huh?" Satoru tells him "He's holding it..." Shuji looks at Takumi "What are you holding? Hm? What are you holding?" reaching out behind Takumi & taking out the file. Takumi tries to leave but Shuji grabs him "Wait a minute...why did you take this?" Takumi, caught, nervously says "Need to do something..." "Something?...Something what?" "Nothing..." "What is this? Tell us the truth!!" Shuji grabs Takumi & Satoru comes in between them "Stop it! Not here..."

In Shuji's apartment, Kyoko's cooking in the kitchen...

At Hot Lip, Satoru says "Anteusu...so you got an offer from that woman huh..." Shuji suddenly tells Takumi "Get out..." "Eh?" "Quit Hot Lip right away...you know how important that is don't you...the customer list, you know how important that is to the salon...it'll be ok, we won't say anything to tenchou...quit right away..." Takumi says "I have no where to go..." "Go to Anteusu..." "If I don't have the customer list, I can't go..." Shuji goes up to Satoru & bangs his hand on the file "Sneaking off like a thief with this, you intended to go didn't you! Then go!" Satoru warns Shuji "Stop it..." Shuji adds "I thought he could make it, that's why I kept an eye on him...teaching him how to cut the hairstyles, even staying with him through the night...what an idiot..." Takumi says "Have I ever asked you to?" Shuji loses hi temper "What did you say?", grabbing Takumi by the collar. Satoru breaks them apart again "Enough already! Calm down!" Shuji slams his fist against the wall in frustration & Satoru says "Takumi, call it a day, go home..." Shuji looks surprised "What did you say?" but Satoru tells Takumi "It's ok, just go home...we'll talk tomorrow..." Takumi walks out in silence, Shuji watching, muttering to himself, sitting back down on the sofa. Satoru says with a sigh "...I understand a little of what he's feeling..." "Huh?" "Not having the kind of ability, no matter how much one tries it's insignificant...think God's being unfair..." "But one wouldn't normally do that..." "Shuji, try & understand those that are weaker...let it go, believe in him...Takumi didn't hand the list to Anteusu..." Shuji nods "Yeah, yeah, yeah...sounds good but I just don't understand, really...why do I have to be preached by you?" "You've brought a girl in a wheelchair here before & cut her hair...have you ever thought about when you might lose your strength?" Shuji buttons up his jacket, grabs his helmet from his locker "I'm leaving..."

As Shuji walks out of Hot Lip, Takumi, waiting for him calls out "Shuji!" but Shuji merely walks to his bike "Shut up!"

Shuji rides back home & seeing Kyoko's car parked outside his apartment, give a little smile. Coming up to his apartment, Shuji's about to unlock the door when he decides to turn the handle first. When he finds it unlocked, Shuji gives a big grin & goes in. Kyoko greets him "Welcome back!" "You came!" "Uhm..." "I saw your car downstairs..." "Uhm..." "What are you making? Smells good..." "Stew..." "I thought you wouldn't have eaten at work...sorry, just making the stew..." "No, no...I'll eat it, eat it..." "Really? Wait a bit, I'll warm it up..." "Really lucky, I'm starving!" "Really?" Shuji sees the settings at the table "Ah, aren't you hungry waiting for me all day?" "It's ok..." "Sorry, I didn't know you were coming...looks great, what did you put in the stew?" Shuji says, peeping into the pot. Kyoko asks "What happened?" "Huh? What?" "You're like a little boy coming back from school, non-stop talking to his mother..." Shuji doesn't answer...Kyoko guessing something's on his mind...

Waiting in the hospital, Masao waits nervously before deciding to light a cigarette. A nurse walks by "Excuse me, but there's no smoking here..." "Sorry..." Masao goes to the counter to ask a nurse "Excuse me, my name is Machida, still not...?" The nurse replies "Sorry, please wait a little bit more...the doctor's in emergency surgery..."

At Shuji's apartment with Shuji washing the dishes & Kyoko wiping them, Kyoko says "I see...file huh..." Shuji adds "Normally one wouldn't do that..." "Really pushed into a corner huh...I understand what Satoru said too...sorry, I'm not blaming you..." "Huh?" "Shuji, you've never tried to hide the fact that you're going out with me..." "Huh? Hide what?" "Well, like walking down the street & not caring that people are looking..." "People don't look..." "Well, that...you don't care what people think, just that you have a pure & strong heart..." "Isn't that exaggerating a little..." "Sometimes that's how I feel...that you're brave & strong, that's probably why you it doesn't bother you when people look...feels like you have a 'barrier free' heart or something...but to other people, sometimes it might be too glaring (comes off as being proud)..." "What are you saying? Isn't it more like I want others to look at me so I got your as a model?" "It's not the same as that file...you don't have to make it sound bad..." "You really understand different feelings don't you..." "That's cause I've been through a lot..."

At the hospital, a nurse makes an announcement "Machida-san, Machida Masao-san, room 6 please..." Masao gets up to the nurses' station "Yes..." & the nurse points him the direction "Over that way..." Masao runs off, bumping into a nurse "Sorry..."

Kyoko asks "...but Shuji, what about you?" "What?" "Your dream, what sort of hairstylist is better? The kind that wants more & more customers?" "Ah, no, no, no way...if it's possible, even if the salon is tiny it'll be fine..." "Tiny?" "Where you can see the place in one glance...from counseling, shampooing to cut, to blow, everything done by myself...rather than doing haircuts under light, I prefer to do it under sunlight...maybe under the sun is a little overdoing it...but this is better for sure..." Kyoko smiles "Something like by the sea..." "By the sea?" "Yes by the sea, a little town by the sea, there's a tiny little salon...feels beautiful & warm...when the door opens, the bell goes "ka-ran"..." Shuji nods "Uhm..." "You know the feeling?" "Then, if the chair's here, there's the mirror & the panel with all the hairstyles right?" "Ah, those model photos?" "Yes...on that panel, there's photos of some animal, photos of some beautiful scenery..." "What's that?" "Not sure but just not hairstyles, wouldn't that be nice?" "I don't know..." "Then a little girl from town would go to the salon for the first time..." "First time?" "Uhm...I still remember now, when I was in 5th grade, although I'd been to the barber's before, I went to a salon for the first time...really nervous...holding onto a picture of an idol..." Shuji mimics a little girl "Please cut my hair like this..." "Yes, yes, yes...who was it..." "Who's picture did you bring?" "Who...Kyon Kyon (Koimizu Kyoko) I think it was..." Shuji laughs "Kyon Kyon?" Kyoko continues "In a place like that with you doing the haircuts, I think the little girls would be very happy..." "& those girls, would probably keep it a secret from everyone at home..." "Yes, cause they'd probably be told the barber's just fine..." "& get a shave too..." Kyoko laughs "Yes..." Shuji smiles "I see..."

Suddenly Shuji goes over to a side table rummaging about. Kyoko asks "What are you doing?" "Huh? Suddenly thought of something..."Shuji replies, coming back to the table with a piece of paper & pencil. Shuji starts sketching "What was it...when the door opens..." "It goes 'ka-ran'..." "...'ka-ran'...there's a cowbell here or something..." "Uhm..." "& then there's 2 mirrors..." "This is great...you're really good at drawing..." "It's nothing...here, the counter...the counter when you come in...& then over here...a bookshelf..." "Bookshelf?" "Yeah, free to take anything back...you'll be responsible for collecting the books, putting them all nicely on the shelf..." Kyoko asks quietly "I'm there too?" Shuji stops sketching, looks at her "Huh? You are too...sitting at the counter...when customers enter, you greet them 'Welcome' with a smile...& then the local junior high school kids will say 'That uncle over there is always angry, in a bad mood, not so friendly, can't stand him...but the auntie there is really nice, cute & beautiful..." Kyoko smiles touched "I'm the auntie?" Shuji laughs "Of course 'auntie'..." Kyoko looks at his sketch & smiles "I'm in your future..." Shuji tells her "What? Of course...that's natural isn't it? Common sense..." Shuji slides the sketch in front of Kyoko "Here..." As Kyoko looks at it, Shuji goes behind her & putting his hands over her shoulders onto the table, says "Let's rent a bigger place..." "Eh?" "A barrier free one..."& then the both of us live together from now on..." Kyoko nods "Thank you..."

At the hospital, a stunned Masao asks the doctor "...this is the 13 out of 43?" "Eh?" "That's the percentage that we were told......does this mean it's hopeless?" "Without a thorough examination under a fiber-scope we won't know if it's malignant or not...if I tell her directly, I think it'll be too great a shock for her...maybe even when she was taking the x-rays, she might have already noticed something..." Masao says "Specially telling us...thank you..."

Walking out of the hospital, Masao turns back to look at the hospital...

Kuniko puts her cup of tea down on the table, having heard the dreaded news "I see..." Masao nods "Uhm..." Yoshio says "The time has come..." Masao says "Dad, you don't have to put it that way...she's your daughter!" "Then how do you want me to say it? What's the best way to say it? Tell me..." Masao adds "She hasn't gone for the examination, we still don't know...even the doctor said so..." Yoshio nods & gets up from the table, taking his cup into the kitchen as if the news too much for him to handle. Kuniko says "We have to tell Kyoko..." Masao nods "Uhm...she has to go for another examination..." Kuniko says "What shall we do?" as Yoshio come back to the table. Masao says "I'll tell her..." Yoshio says "Will it be ok?" Masao assures him "It'll be better coming from me..." Kuniko says "That boy..." "Huh?" "What about asking that boy? The hairstylist, that boy..." Masao asks "Why do you have to talk about him?" Kuniko explains "Because he can support her...although as a brother it's fine but Kyoko will listen to him..." Masao loses his temper "I'll tell her!" Yoshio tells her "Let's leave it to Masao..." Kuniko puts her head on her hands, muttering "Why does it have to be like this?" Masao tries to console her "Come on Mom, we still don't know...Dad's just saying the worst that's all..."

In Shuji's apartment, both Shuji & Kyoko watch a program on TV "Cute!" both of them laughing... 

In her room, Kyoko holds up Shuji's key which she's painted it blue with clouds & a rainbow "Isn't it cute..." & puts it in her key holder. The door knocks & Kyoko replies "Yes..." The door knocks again & she asks "Who is it?" "Me..." "Come in..." Masao walks in as Kyoko asks "What is it?" Masao takes a sit by the side of her bed & looks at her without saying anything. Kyoko asks again "What is it?" but Masao gets off the bed, seating on a chair beside the bed. Finally, Masao says "Well...I went to the hospital the other day..." "Hemorrhoids?" "Who's got hemorrhoids? To your hospital...got a call from Doctor Shina..." "A re-examination? I'm finally getting worse..." Masao says hesitatingly "You..." but Kyoko says "That's it, isn't it..." "No, without a re-examination, we don't know..." "OK, I know..." "You know?" "It'll be OK...we've been told that all this while...for the last 10 years & nothing's happened, it's a lucky miracle...I'm prepared for it...that's the truth, oni-chan..." "Really?" "Yes...this illness is always near me...also feel that death's next to me...normal people see it as something on the shore opposite, but I've always felt it beside to me..." "We still don't know..." "I know that too...what about Dad & Mom?" "I've told them..." "Can we talk about this tomorrow?" "Uhm...you ok?" "I'll be alright...then, sorry, I'm going to sleep..." Masao gets up "Oh..." & walks out, stopping at the door "Oh yes, have you taken your medication? Need water?" Kyoko smiles "It's ok, I've taken it..." "Oh..." replies Masao, going out & shutting the door behind him, leaving Kyoko to cope with the news...

Another day at work ends for Shuji as he gets his jacket out of his locker in the staff room. Amid a round of otsukare samas, Shuji gets ready to walk out the door when Takumi enters. Stopping for a second, Shuji tells the others "otsukare" & leaves. Takumi looking. Shuji walks to the reception checking the appointments, muttering "Who is Takeuchi..."

In her room, Kyoko sits on her bed, staring blankly into space, the Shuji's apartment key in her hand. Suddenly, as if coming to a decision, she reaches for her car key...

In the store, Masao serves a customer "Beer? I'll get it..." Hearing a car door slam, Masao looks up but carries on with his work...

Kyoko starts the her car & drives out...

Masao, hearing something, runs into the garage. Not seeing Kyoko's car, he checks her room but Kyoko's already left...

Shuji comes back home & just has he puts his back pack on the table, his cell phone rings. Answering it "Hello..." he hears Masao "It's me...Machida..." "Ah, good evening..." "Do you know where Kyoko is..." "Huh?" "She didn't get in touch with you, you haven't heard from her?" "No, I haven't...what happened?" "She's gone..." "Huh?" Masao loses his cool "She's gone!! It's her illness...it's gotten worse...if it's really bad, she might die...after I told her, she left...I've called Sachi & others but she's nowhere to be found..."

Shuji grabs his helmet & runs out of his apartment. As he gets on his bike, Takumi comes running up "Shuji..." Shuji says "Sorry..." "It's ok if I stay here right..." "Yes...if she come...if Kyoko comes, don't let her go anywhere..." "OK..." "What about you?" "I'm going to look for her..." "I understand..." "Sorry, you still have work tomorrow..." "It's ok..." "In the end...you're the only one I can depend on..." "I'm glad...don't say anymore, hurry, go..." "Thank you..." Shuji speeds away, Takumi waiting in the cold...

As Shuji rides off, he recalls Kyoko saying "...can see Mt Fuji, can see the blue sky, can see the gentle greenery...can see Shuji's beautiful eyes..."

Kyoko races off on the roads in the dark, barely avoiding a crash with an oncoming truck. She drives towards the place where Shuji brought her to see Mt Fuji...

Shuji instinctively, heads for the same place, not far behind her...

Arriving at the side of the lake, Kyoko turns off all the lights in the car & starts crying...

Shuji turns into the path, getting close...

Kyoko wheels herself slowly towards the lake, stopping by the waters edge...

Shuji rides but in the dark, doesn't see a log along the path & rides over it, falling off the bike. Getting up & taking off his helmet, Shuji starts yelling "Kyoko! Kyoko!"

Kyoko, as if in a trance, tears in her eyes, starts to move her wheelchair forward. As the wheels of her chair touch the water, she hears Shuji shouting "Kyoko!"

Shuji runs through the trees towards the lake, looking around, shouting "Kyoko!"

At the waters edge, Kyoko hears Shuji shouting "Kyoko!" as if coming out of a trance, mutters "Shuji..." Turning around, Kyoko screams "Shuji!"

Shuji whips around, hearing Kyoko. Kyoko yells "Shuji!" once more & Shuji runs through the trees towards the sound. Stopping, he looks around, not knowing which way to go. Kyoko yells "Shuji!" & turning around, Shuji looks around, squints & finally sees Kyoko in the distance. Muttering to himself "Kyoko..." he runs towards her...

Kyoko looks at him "Shuji..." Panting & out of breath, Shuji says "What are you doing here? Huh?" Kyoko tells him "It's enough, I thought...it's enough..." Shuji suddenly goes up to her & grabs her wheelchair, pulling her away from the edge "What's enough!? "You want to die?" Kyoko doesn't look at him "I don't know..." Going behind her & putting his arms around her, Shuji says "Why do something like that? I'm here! I'm here aren't I?" Kyoko says, tears in her voice "Shuji..." but Shuji merely says "Idiot..." "It hurts..." "Stop this..." "Sorry..." "Uhm..." With tears rolling down her face, Kyoko says "You panicked?" "Yeah..." "You thought I died already?" With tears in his eyes & still holding her, Shuji replies "Uhm..." "My brother called you?" "...you...sure are calm..." "Sorry..." Shuji takes a deep breath, closing his eyes with relief. Kyoko says "When you hold me, feelings are coming back...my feelings of being alive are coming back..." Shuji listens & then says "I'm still feeling shaky, let me hold on to you for a while longer..." Kyoko mutters "Sorry..." Barely holding back tears himself, Shuji says "Don't go looking for death alone..." Kyoko nods. Shuji tells her "If you die, I'll die with you..." "Serious?" "Serious..."

As Shuji tries to warm Kyoko's hands, blowing on them & then later, carrying her back, Kyoko's voiceover come on......

Although my whole body was freezing & I didn't feel anything, 

the tears that rolled down my cheeks were warm, warm, warm...

ah, I'm alive, I thought.....

& then, rather than sighing over dying soon,

I was grateful to God for being born into this world.....

to be able to meet you like this.....

to be loved by you like this.....Shuji..... 

but, can I really love you like you deserve?
