Historically, the atole made from cacao beans was reserved only for the noblemen of
Moctezuma's court, who drank it from special gold ceremonial cups. The women favored the atole
with a mixture of chia and a topping of chile. The region of Oaxaca is especially famous
for its chocolate which is sold in all its markets.There's a Mexican saying when it comes to chocolate: "Ni amor recomenzado ni choclate recalentado" or Neither rekindle a love affair nor reheat chocolate.....
