Mexican Chocolate Drink or Champurrado - Easy Mexican Recipe For Mexican Drink

  • water
  • 125g masa
  • 60g piloncillo or raw sugar (alternate: brown sugar)
  • 1 10 cm stick cinnamon
  • 155g semisweet cooking chocolate

How to Make Mexican Chocolate Drink or Champurrado:

  • Stir in masa in 4 cups of water
  • Let stand for 5 mins, then strain water and place in a saucepan
  • Add another 4 cups water
  • Add in piloncillo and cinnamon stick
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for about 10 mins
  • Add chocolate and stir for another 15 mins or till chocolate melts
  • Serve hot
