Caramelized Carnitas - Easy Mexican Recipe For Mexican Main Course
- 1 1/2 lbs pork boneless shoulders (cut into cubes)
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp tequila or orange juice
- 1 tbsp molasses
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 cloves garlic (chopped fine)
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 green onion (sliced)

How to make Caramelized Carnitas:
- Place pork in a single layer in a skillet
- Top with brown sugar, tequila (or orange juice), molasses, salt & pepper, garlic and water
- heat to boiling then reduce heat to low
- Simmer uncovered about 35 mins, stir occasionally till water has evaporated and pork is
slighlty caramalized
- Sprinkle with green onion
