Baked Oysters on Toast - Easy Mexican Recipe For Mexican Starter Dish Course


  • 2 slices bacon (chopped)
  • 1 tomato (chopped)
  • 1 to 2 serrano chillies (chopped fine)
  • 1/4 cup onion (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 dozen fresh oysters (shelled)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 regular slices or 8 mini bread (toasted & buttered)
  • 1/4 cup Mozzarella cheese (grated)
TIP: If you choose to buy oysters in a jar, look for ones that have no bits of shell floating around and that the liquid is CLEAR, not cloudy.

How to make Baked Oysters on Toast:


  • Preheat oven to moderate
  • In a small skillet, fry the chopped bacon till cooked through but not crisp
  • Add in onion, tomato, tomato sauce, chillies and parsley till sauce has thickened slightly (5 to 8 mins)
  • Add in the oysters
  • Season with a dash of salt and pepper
  • Continue to cook till oysters are cooked (2 to 4 mins)
  • Divide the osyters between the slices of toast
  • Sprinkle the grated cheese over them
  • Bake in oven till cheese has melted (5 to 8 mins)
  • Serve hot
