Warning: Had bad plot premise in my head, and went with it. What
was I thinking?
Rated NC-17 for extreme, horrid language and violence unbefitting a
Bishoujo series. (Then again CLAMP are the same girls responsible
for X)
This Story takes place in the Fountain of Eterna segment in the second
Manga. I haven't seen the anime, but I trust there won't be too much
confusion, since. I also played the super NES RPG and found the plot
to be the same. There is a crossover in this, and it's a big one. To be
truthful, I know this fic is gonna suck, but I'm gonna write it anyway.
If you've got time to kill, keep reading. I'm well aware that Rayearth
was designed for all you ladies out there. To you I say 'hang on girls.'
Chenalos presents:
Fuu's Battle In the Heart of Eterna.
Fuu Hyouougi lay on her back in what she concluded was the bottom of what
Umi had dubbed the "Wierdo Fountain of Eterna". Holding her breath, Fuu
opened her eyes, expecting to see the rippling image of Eterna's
surface, when in fact she found herself quite dry, lying on the floor
of a formless dark place, like the island of darkness she had read
about in "Voyage of the Dawn Treader." She took a breath in, and sat
up. A dim light, providing visibility of about 7 feet in all
directions emanated from the armor Guru Clef had given her, she could
see that the floor had a slight luster to it. She bent over and ran
her finger along the smooth, marble-like surface. A luminescent glow,
followed the path of her finger, and vanished as it trailed, like the
moisture of one's breath on an icy window pane. She was perplexed by
the substance of the floor.
"Is this Escude? Is this what I came to get, so I could become a Magic
Knight and return to Tokyo?" Her question to herself was interrupted
by the sound of approaching footsteps from behind her. Not to be a
victim of a surprise attack, she stood to her feet, and summoned her
bow and quiver. The bow immediately appeared in her hand, and an arrow
was already knocked in place. She turned and pointed the bow, but as
she turned, She could see that the intruder was right behind her, and
had already drawn a weapon, which it was now pressing against Fuu's
cheek. Likewise, when she turned, Fuu placed the blade of her arrow
against the cheek of her adversary. What Fuu saw, to say the least,
shocked her.
She saw herself. It was as though she was looking into a mirror, only
a mirror can't reach out and put the blade of an arrow against one's
face. She examined the thing before her, exactly the same. The same
dusty-blonde hair, green eyes, headband, glasses even her armor and
uniform, not only that, but the same pose, right hands drawing back
bows, pressing the flats of arrow-heads against left cheeks. The only
difference was that while Fuu was sure she was wide-mouthed with
shock, the Fuu before her, had an eerie, expressionless look, like
a wax figure at Madame Tussoude's, lifelike, but hardly alive. Still,
how could she fight herself?, she wondered. Loosing her will
to fight, Fuu's bow, arrows and quiver recessed back into the gem on
her hand. The Fuu before her eased off the tension on her arrow.
"Is this the key to getting Escude? Is it within me?"
The Fuu before her, smirked, and her eyes narrowed, forming a sly
expression, as though she was saying 'Are you stupid?' The Fuu before
her quickly drew back the arrow aimed and fired. The head of the
arrow drove into Fuu's shoulder, and she twisted down to the ground
facing the floor. Her impact on the ground first broke the arrow,
then drove it deeper into her shoulder. Fuu winced, and saw blood
trailing down the remaining shaft of the arrow.
"Perhaps not." she said
Fuu grabbed the bloody rod.
"Healing wind!" She screamed, and was lifted into the air by green
strands of healing light, blown by the wind. She pulled the arrow
from her shoulder, without so much pain as pulling a sliver from her
finger. The wound quickly sealed, and she returned to the ground,
facing the Fuu behind her.
"I may not understand, but if I must fight my image to get Escude, then
that is what I must do."
She drew back an arrow, and decided to return the favor, she fired into
the shoulder of the Fuu before her. Immediately upon impact, a searing
pain raced through her. She brought her hand up and clasped the
bleeding wound that had re-opened on her own shoulder.
"No! I thought I healed that." She cried, applying pressure to the
bleeding wound.
The Fuu before her snapped the arrow sticking out of her chest,
Strung an arrow of her own, aimed and fired, the arrow raced at Fuu's
face and she jinked to one side, the arrow skimming her cheek, just
below her right eye. A drop of blood splattered against the inside of the
lens of her pince-nez, And smeared across her plane of vision. But
through the blood, she could see that the exact same cut had opened under
the eye of her opponent.
"The same injury? How can it be? Is she taking my damage?"
Fuu then saw the jagged remainder of an arrow sticking out of the
shoulder of the Fuu before her. She then looked down, and saw the same
wound was bleeding on her own shoulder.
"Can it be?" The Fuu before her was still wearing her sly smirk. Fuu
drew back an arrow, took aim, and fired. The arrow raced by the ear
of the smirking Fuu. It had cleanly clipped off a lock of her hair,
which was now gently floating to the ground. Fuu looked at her own
feet, there, softly shining in the dim light, was a lock of her own
hair.
"Me! I'm fighting myself!"
The smirk turned into a sneer, the Fuu before her raised her bow once
more. Fuu jumped back to dodge the arrow, but a wall that was not
there a moment ago stopped her. Fuu slided down the side of the wall,
and was now sitting on the floor looking at the strung arrow pointed at
her. At the release of the arrow, three more appeared. The arrows
pelted her skirt, and at the sleeve of her shirt, and pinned her up
against the wall. Fuu only looked ahead, as her enemy knocked another
arrow.
"I can't do this, I can't fight myself, what can I do? Clef! Presea!
Mokona!...Ferio." She said, clenching the earring she was given.
"Someone, help me to understand." at this, off to her left, she heard
approaching footsteps. She spun her head around, and there before her,
dressed in dirty pants, a faded multi-colored T-shirt and a red leather
jacket, Stood a tall, handsome man, with a bruise on his cheek and a
cigarette between his lips.
"What's you're name?" He mumbled, holding the cigarette in his mouth
firmly.
"My...My name is Fuu, Fuu Hououji."
The man took a long drag from his cigarette, and pulled it from his
lips. Fuu could see that the man had an odd scar on his hand.
The man breathed out and threw the cigarette into the floor, hard.
"Well, Fuu I've been sent by princess Emeraude."
"You...you're here to help."
"My name's Tyler Durden, and this is the greatest moment of your life."

MAGIC KNIGHTS RAYEARTH:
TO FALL IS TO SOAR
-------
"Mister Durden, how can I get the Escude I came for?"
"First you have to get up."
Surprised at his blunt mannerisms, Fuu responded "Very well."
She Gently set her bow down, and tried to carefully pull the remaining
traces of fabric from the razor edges of the arrows that had been
buried into the wall. Having no patience with this, Tyler grabbed her
by the arm and forcefully pulled her up, ripping off most of the cloth
in her sleeve, and putting a big triangular tear in her skirt, most of
her left leg was now left bare in the dark dungeon. Tyler pulled
her to her feet.
"Mr. Durden," She pleaded "Please!"
"Please what?" Tyler rhetorically demanded "Should I get you a
seamstress? You want a band-aid? You wanna relax and read some dinky
schoolbook on your pretty pink duvet, while watching a Ranma 1/2
episode? I don't think so. You may not appreciate this Fuu, but
you're trying to kill yourself." He said, back turned to the sneering
Fuu."
"No!" Fuu gasped "Why would I want to do that?"
"Because deep down inside, you know you're not your Ranma 1/2
collection, you're not your pretty pink duvet, You are not your
education, you are not your hopes, and you are not your bleeding
wounds."
Shocked, Fuu replied "Well, then, Tyler-san, what am I?"
Tyler pulled her forward and made her face the image that was attacking
her. The Fuu before them stayed still, that snide smirk still plastered
across her face. Tyler placed his chin on Fuus Right shoulder, and
spoke into her ear.
"This is what you are. Under and behind and inside everything you've
been taking for granted, something horrible has been growing. The hatred
of your own glorified, preppie, braniack hot-shit little life has been
with you all along."
"What?"
"Now you can do something about it. Something that only a select few
have ever been able to accomplish. Fuu, you are about to hit bottom."
"Hit...Bottom?" Fuu asked, terrified. "How will that help me to get back
to Tokyo?"
"Simple, before you can go back, you have to realize that you don't have
to."
"Excuse me?!" She responded, flabbergasted.
Tyler came around and Punched the smirking Fuu square in the gut. Both
Fuus clenched their own stomachs, and collapsed in a fetal position on the
smooth floor. Tyler bent down, and started talking again into Fuu's
ear.
"This is your life, Fuu. It doesn't get any better than this. Your
life was not commissioned by the Japanese Schooling system, you don't
have to go back to school. Your parents had you, but where are they
now? You don't need them, not here. Hikaru and Umi? Same story,
gone. This is your life: single serving, and good to the last drop."
At this point Fuu's tears had collected in a small pool in the curve
of her glasses, and began mixing with the gelatinous, crusting blood.
"Even so," She replied, sobbing "with no-one here, why would I want to
kill myself?"
"You still don't get it? Fuu, you can't even image the kinda shit you
gotta pull in order to get back to Tokyo. You have to meet the MK
qualifications. A magic knight has to realize one thing. It has to be
absolutely clear to you. You must know that one day you will die."
Fuu gasped.
"So you must be ready to die at any given moment, or you will never be
a Magic Knight."
Fuu staggered to her feet.
"To become A magic knight, I must..."
Tyler picked up the Fuu, who though punched in the gut, was still
broadly smirking.
"You have to take her down."
"Who?"
"You!" And with that, he threw Fuu at Fuu.
The smirking Fuu came out with a strong right hander, that slammed into
Fuu's face. Under the cut below her eye, square into her cheek, this
grinded a molar into the soft cheek tissue, and immediately starting a
fresh flow of blood both inside her mouth and from her cheek cut.
Both of the girls went to their knees from the blow. The smirker
grabbed Fuu's breast-plate and started pounding into the same spot on
her cheek with her fist. She knew how badly it hurts. She knew this
because Fuu knew this. The blood started coming in a stream, much
stronger than it's previous intensity, both inside Fuu's mouth and
from the ever widening cut in her cheek. and a thick, purple bruise was
beginning to form on her cheek, under the dripping of the mixed tears and
crusted blood coming from her glasses. As soon as Fuu stared getting
really dizzy, the pounding stopped. Fuu could see through the red smear
the smirker, with a clenched fist wiping away a tickling, trickling stream
of crimson from her lips, and doing the same to the gash under her eye.
She raised her fist again. Fuu grabbed the fist of the smirker, and
tried to struggle away. The smirker had a tight grip on her breast-
plate however, and Fuu in desperation, depressed the gem on her damaged
shoulder-pad, un-hooking the two armor pieces. The smirkers armor also
unhitched, and fell to the floor. Fuu managed to get up, leaving the
smirker holding the breast plate. Terrified, Fuu ran toward Tyler.
Unable to stay her balance, she collapsed to her knees before Tyler.
"Durden-san, please help me." She asked, crying
Tyler reached into his pocket pulled out another cigarette.
"Help you what?" He asked, putting the cigarette into his mouth, the
smirking Fuu began to approach them.
"Didn't Princess Emeraude send you?"
Tyler lit his cigarette "Yes."
"Then help me fight her."
Tyler looked back down at Fuu as though she had just asked him to strip
naked, and play tom-tom on his testicles.
"Fuu, I'm well aware that you are a girl, but do you have to be so pussy?"
So stunned, it took Fuu a moment to respond. On the plus side, she
completely forgot about the oncoming smirker.
"That's...the rudest thing...anyone's ever said to me."
"I told you, YOU have to hit bottom. You have to give up. If you want
to become a magic knight, get back to Tokyo, and ever hope to lose your
virginity," Fuu suddenly blushed "You have to let go. You gotta say
'Fuck off' to all that shit you've been trying to preserve. Everything
you work for will one day be useless, everyone you meet will one day
die or worse, forget you. Nothing is static. Everything is falling
apart."
"Falling...apart...my life?"
Tyler looked up.
"Here she comes."
"No."
"Yes. Fuu, now is the time. Stop trying to control everything, and
just let go."
'I am Fuu's clenched fist.'
'With me, Fuu may find the power to fight for Cephiro.'
"Let go!"
'I am Fuu's narrowing, green eyes.'
'I'm sick of looking at this dark, dreary place.'
The smirker stopped just behind Fuu.
"Now is the time." Tyler spoke. "This is the moment magic knights are
made of. So let the hell go."
'I am Fuu's adrenal gland.'
'I'm pumping hormones like there's no tomorrow.'
Fuu turned and delivered a sharp uppercut to the smirker, feeling the
jolt Fuu fell back into Tyler's arms. She forcefully propped her head
up and watched the smirker hit the ground.
'I am Fuu's self-control.'
'Goodbye.'
Tears streaming down her face, Fuu charged the prostrated smirking Fuu,
and planted her foot squarely into her belly. The smirker jolted up,
and Fuu fell to her knees, but she didn't care. If hitting bottom was
the only way to make it out of here, she was willing to do it. Using
the Gem on her wrist she backhanded the smirker, determined to wipe
that smile off her face. She could feel every blow she dealt out. Fuu
could see the bouncing of her enemy's breast, as the smirker was
blasting away with sharp, painful jabs to Fuu's left tit. It didn't
matter to her, she could feel the flesh around her cheek bones coming
loose, and that was her gem doing the damage, so she must have been
winning. By her enraged logic, anyway. No longer able to tolerate any
more cheek smashes, Fuu raised her fist up, and slammed it into the
bridge of the smirker's nose. The connecting wire of her glasses bent
inward, digging under the skin and scraping at the soft, jelly
cartilage. The smirker's head impacted on the floor, and Fuu too felt
this double-fold injury. Now, feeling more faint than sore, she keeled
backward and looked up into the blackness. Tyler walked over, and
hovering above her, looking down at her broken face, he said;
"Cool."
Fuu mumbled "Did...I..."
"Not yet," Tyler replied. He laid Fuu's Bow and quiver by her side
"You have to fall all the way. Get up."
Getting to one knee, and only one foot on the floor was all he could
manage. Tyler handed her the bow and an arrow.
"What do you want me to do with that?"
"It's the only way to get Escude. Send this right into her chest.
Hit bottom, and become a magic knight."
"I can't go through with this."
"That's too bad, because she can. She wants to rip away the old Fuu
and become a lengend."
"You mean become dead."
"You won't really die, you'll become a legend, A goddess among girls."
Fuu looked up at him
"You're thinking of 'The Little Mermaid.'"
You gotta believe it Fuu, this is the only way to win."
The smirker leaned up. Fuu drew the arrow back to her crushed, bloody
bruised cheek. Though never really ever wanting to hurt anything
before, she suddenly had the urge to destroy this thing that was using
her body to do evil. It came down to the smirking Fuu's maliciosness,
and the look on her face. That smirk. She'd do anything to wipe that
smirk off her face. So she let go.
The human heart can apply enough PSI to shoot a stream of blood thirty
lateral feet. When that arrow sunk into the smirker's left ventricle,
all that pressure blasted out of both Fuus chests. A stream of blood
coated Fuu's armor, and the stream from Fuu's heart splattered all over
the face of the Fuu before her. Wouldn't you know, she went down
smirking. Fuu lay there, surprised and horrified of the feeling of a
dying heart.
Tyler threw his cigarette into the floor and looked down at her.
"Congratulations. You have just hit bottom."
"You tricked me." she winced
"I didn't trick you, I showed you the way." He said, smiling down at
her. "Sadly, I can't show you the whole way. This is where I get off."
Tyler's face and body began to become part of the darkness, his voice
sounding more and more distant. "If it makes you feel any better, I
hope you find the rest of the way." The image went totally black, but
she heard one last comment. Distant as a whisper in a football stadium
"But, hey, it's not my problem anymore." And no more.
The pain had stopped, Fuu was happy about that, and suddenly, she felt
very warm, like something was generating life inside her other than her
heart. Some new, powerful life filled in the open wound of her chest.
A calming, soothing feeling, near her dead cardiac muscle. Something
felt familiar about it. As though she understood it. Not just
understood in the Zen everything is nothing sense of the word, but as
in the let's learn our ABCs sense of the word. Like this feeling had
a name, not arbitrary, an identity. Something that had a name, waiting
for exactly the right time to show itself. She got it. It did have a
name. Her eyes opened. And she screamed;
"GREEN TORNADO!"
A blast of green wind blasted out from her heart and blew her upward,
taking with her both Tyler and the Fuu, who's smirk had faded into the
absent expression of lifelessness. Her corpse dissolved and dissipated
into the wind, but Tyler remained. Tyler grabbed Fuu by the arms, and
looked into her eyes. Fuu Reached up, and grabbed him at his elbows.
"Fuu, just remember this one thing. You can't ask for more than one
moment of perfection. That's all you get, so savor this moment."
And with that, Tyler began to emit a light, and was suddenly
transformed, into a glimmering mineral, like a giant glowing quartz
crystal. It felt light as a feather and strong as steel. And,
in a single flash of light, Fuu, and the Escude disappeared from
the heart of Eterna, and returned to Cephiro, with all of her wounds
now healed, and her armor evolved into a galiant suit. Presea was
there, and using artisan magic forged the Escude into a mighty sword,
which Fuu named "Tyler."
Two days later, she changed it's name to Ferio.
One moment is all you can expect from perfection.
Authors notes:
I like making blatantly bad fics, and then seeing if I can turn
them into good fics. Thus, this fic. If you walk away from it
happy, I'm pleased, if you walk way from it disturbed, I'm pleased,
at least it's doing something. I think Kafka felt the same way
about "The Metamorphosis" Which I also read recently.
