Righty-oh people-enos, I'm back *a chorus of Boos fills the room* Ha ha ha, Very
funny people . . . anyhow, as I was saying, I'm back with chapter seven, *seven*
do you know how many chapters that is to a fanfic writer? A lot. The entire
thing is over thirty pages long, that's my longest fic yet. I just finished
writing a one shot, "I'll Love You Again", unlike "The Only
Battle Worth Fighting" its rated R, so read with caution. I received a
great E-mail for FuuMegami, another Rayearth author; her works are wonderful, go
read it at fanfiction.net. Also I would like to say thanks to suzanami, whose
constant encouragement helps me get a new chapter out ever two weeks or so.
Anyhow, that paragraph was *way* to serious so now I'm calling out the penguins!
*Millions of penguins come out, all of them dancing and wearing fake eyelashes
and silly hats*
"The Only Battle Worth Fighting"

The woman bent down, awkwardly holding a turkey pan in her arms. She carefully
pushed the pan into the smoldering flames of the kiln and buried the pan with
hot ash. If all goes well she should have plenty of time to get dinner ready
before her husband comes in from working in the fields. The woman smiled as she
looked out the window at her love, pushing his long black hair out of his face.
He was getting the Ox set up to plow the fields they were to plant next week.
Well, he was to plant; she couldn't do much of anything now and days not with
the addition to their family. Who knew death was exactly like life? The woman
stopped chopping the carrots for the stew and gently rubbed her stomach. Her
eyes then went wide, her jaw dropped open and tears sprang to her eyes. The
woman felt around blindly for a chair, finding one successfully she sat down
immediately. After a couple of minutes of shock and silence happy tears began
rolling down her cheeks.
"Ah, my Brother you have sure picked a good one," the woman mumbled
still recovering from the onslaught of emotion and hope. It wasn't everyday she
got prayed to now. Emeraude smiled again. The prayer she had received was from
Earth, a very strange occurrence indeed, they mostly prayed to their own gods,
not her. But what stuck her interest in the prayer was whom it was for. Her
Brother. Oh yes, it did have it's part about how she was sorry for what her and
the other Knights did, and how she learned and grew from the situation, but
after that it went on for Ferio.
"All right Wind Knight, all right! I will help, but you must do one thing
for me." Emeraude heard a sharp gasp on the other side from the Magic
Knight; she obviously wasn't expecting a response to her prayer. Emeraude
chuckled.
"Take care of Ferio won't you? He really misses you."

Fuu took a step back from the small pagoda she had been kneeling at, staring at
it in disbelief. Fuu took another step back and took off running, darting down
the temple stairs as fast as she could, skipping every other step and almost
tripping more times than she could count. She paused at the end of the stairs,
leaning against the temple sign carved out of stone. Fuu heard a chorus of
giggles behind her and she tuned her head gently and moaned in frustration.
Great, just great, she heard the voice of the woman she killed and now she had
to deal with them again.
"Well, what have we here? You look out of breath Houiji-san, did you see
yourself in the mirror and run away scared?," Yuki taunted. Sashi just
laughed. Fuu glared at the two. She wasn't in the mood for this now, she had to
talk to Umi and Hikaru, problem was she had no idea where they lived.
"Yuki, Sashi, how nice to see you again, but I really have no time to chat,
now please, get out of my way."
"My, my, my, is our little Fuu getting a backbone?"
"Did you not hear me Yuki, I need to go so please get out of my way,"
Fuu asked again, her patience wearing thin.
"You think you can order me around well you have . . .," Yuki's
sentence was cut off by Fuu straightening up and glared at her eye-to-eye, a
hand wrapped around the collar, threatening her to disagree.
"Will you move or won't you?" Fuu asked again, her fist tightening on
Yuki's shirt with every word. Yuki nodded mutely. Fuu's face returned to its
normal pleasant smile.
"Thank You, Yuki-san" Yuki was released from Fuu's grip and slowly
slid to the pavement, watching as Fuu dashed away, backpack slung hap-hazardly
across her shoulder.
"Yuki!," Sashi screamed, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine, come on lets go find Ai, I heard she just got
braces."
"Oh, really? I bet she's really sensitive about it!"
"Yeah, now's the perfect time to deal a couple of blows to her
self-esteem," Yuki said.
"But, what about Fuu-san?"
"Ah, she's no fun now. Plus Ai stole my boy friend, say, wouldn't it be
great to steal him back?"
"Oh Yuki, your so devious!"
"Common now Sashi, what are you standing around for! Help me up!"
~*~*~
Fuu ran a hand threw her hair in frustration and fell backwards onto her bed,
somehow managing to crawl under the comforter and put her hair up into pigtails
at the same time. She hadn't had any luck finding Hikaru or Umi, well, actually
she had found Umi but gave up trying to talk to her when she saw the small army
of security guards out side of her house. Who knew Umi was the daughter of the
Prime Minister of Japan? And Hikaru, it was like she didn't exist! Her family
name wasn't listed in the phone book, and she didn't know her parents' first
names. Fuu adjusted the pillow under her head and shut her eyes, forcing herself
to sleep, she needed to rest if she was going to get an early start on trying to
find Hikaru and Umi after school, first stop, Tokyo Tower.
~*~*~
"Are you sure you're not up to something?"
"For the last time, I'm not up to anything! Why do you keep suspecting
me?"
"You look devious"
"How does one go about looking devious?" Emeraude asked her Husband,
who was just finishing up his dinner.
"I don't know," Zagato said "But you do."
"I'm not doing anything wrong per say, I'm just . . . tying up some loose
ends."
"Ah! So you are up to something!"
"Okay, fine, I'm up to something, happy?" Emeraude asked, clearly
upset.
"Yes, very. Now, would you mind telling me what you're up to?"
"It's a long story."
"We have eternity, might I remind you that we are dead after all. Time has
no real meaning to us."
"Did you ever think about being a Speaker for Cephiro? You have a way with
twisting words around"
"Flattery won't work Dear, you might as well tell me what you're
planning."
"It all started this morning as a matter of fact, when you were out working
in the field," The Princess went on talking well trough the night, the
candle burning all the while. It was hours before she finished, the food spoiled
from not being properly stored, and the candle about to burn itself out.
"Emeraude my love, you have out done yourself, it's brilliant."

Fuu rubbed her eyes and looked towards her window, the sky behind her blind was
dark, not one ray of sunshine sneaked into her room. Thunder and lightning
crashed and danced in the sky, puzzling Fuu, It was supposed to be sunny today,
but then again the weatherman wasn't always right. She glanced at her clock,
eyes widening at the flashing red numbers.
"9:15? Oh my! I'm running so behind! Sensei will be so angry! I might even
have to hold the buckets straight to lunchtime!"
Fuu reached into her dresser, pulling out her school uniform and dashed to the
bathroom attached to her room. She hurriedly brushed her teeth and hair,
dressing completely except for the bottom two buttons on her blazer, she forgot
about them as she hurried to put her shoes on, only stopping for a moment to
wonder why her Mother hadn't woken her up. She grabbed her schoolbag by her door
and dashed out into her small, carpeted . . . large, spacious, tiled hallway?
That wasn't right.
Fuu looked around as a door slammed to her left and much to her surprise out
stepped Umi, looking as shocked as she did.
"Umi-san?"
"Fuu?"
"Umi-chan? Fuu-chan?"
Both girls turned their heads to the right and gazed at Hikaru in shock. Hikaru
smiled as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"I missed you guys so much . . . ," Hikaru sobbed, running forward,
trapping Fuu and Umi an a death grip hug
"I missed you too Hikaru-san, Umi-san, I spent all yesterday looking for
you"
"You did? Thanks Fuu," Umi piped in.
The girls just stood there in a group hug for many minutes, Hikaru sobbing all
the while with Umi and Fuu trying to sooth her cries.

Just what does Emeraude have planned? Where exactly are the girls? Why hasn't
Ferio showed up the past two chapters? Why can't I stop asking questions? Find
out the answers to these questions and more in the next chapter!
