Ukyo and Akane

The dynamic duo, aren't they just so cute?  Well, there is a lot to say about Ukyo and Akane's relationship. The above picture is from "Training in the Spiral of Hell".  Akane and Ukyo are laughing over a picture of Ranma naked.  Imagine that...

Anyway, Akane and Ukyo are rivals, to say the least.  Ukyo has wanted Ranma since she was a child and Akane...well, let's just say she wants him too.  Unlike some of Ranma's other "fiances", Ukyo respects Akane, for the most part.  They may almost be considered friends, and certainly not hateful enemies.  Ukyo isn't nearly as hateful towards Akane, which is hard to figure out, especially for someone like me who hasn't read the manga...

Akane doesn't step on Uyko's terf as much as Shampoo or Kodachi.  Akane, while the rightful fiance to Ranma, doesn't squabble over him or make elaborate plans for his affection--it just happens.  Maybe Ukyo respects that...

The two do have their moments, though.

Kodachi is a rival.  Not a serious rival, but competition nevertheless.   Kodachi and Ukyo don't get along. Don't ask me how Ukyo can share a web page with her and Shampoo.

Let there not be a doubt in your mind about Shampoo when it comes to Ukyo.   Shampoo is clearly Ukyo's biggest rival.  Shampoo can only dream of being as smart and successful as dear Ucchan.  So there.
