About Me

As you already know, my name is Elane. I'm a 25-yr-old Chinese-American and a Virgo. For fun, I like to hang out with my friends, go to the Museum of Science, especially to see the IMAX Dome and laser shows, dance at Avalon and the Roxy, attend the theatre, see movies, watch TV, scrapbook, and try anything new. :)

I am a graduate of Northeastern University (NU) with a BSBA in marketing and management. While I was there, I joined the NU Marketing Association. From winter quarter 1999 through spring quarter 1999, thirty-one members of the association including myself participated in the Clairol Marketing Internship project. We developed, planned, and implemented a promotional event for Clairol Hydrience. I did a lot of PR work for the event. The "Shades of Summer" promotional event was a huge success and a lot of fun!

During winter quarter 2001, I helped to put on another promotional event, but this time it was for General Motors. I conducted market research for the project. Even though it was a bit chilly the day of the event, the "Winter Jam" promotional event turned out well.

While I was at NU, I also completed four co-ops. The first two co-ops were with The Boston Globe which I enjoyed very much. I worked in Inside Sales for six months from June through December of 1998. I learned a lot about advertising and about how a newspaper is run. I returned to the Globe the following year, but changed to the Special Projects department. I worked there from June through December of 1999 where I managed many advertising directories and provided support for the salespeople. I also worked part-time as an Advertising Clerk from January through May of 2000.

My next two co-ops were with The Gillette Company. For my first co-op with the company, I worked in the Sales Information Services department from June through December of 2000. Everyone here was great too. I learned a lot about promotional funds management and sales forecasting. I decided to go back to the same department for my final co-op since I enjoyed my first co-op with them. This time around, I continued to assist with the management of the Promotional Funds Management System (PFMS) within SAP, but I also helped with the conversion of Duracell data from AdsPay to SAP by identifying duplicate account information.

Currently, I'm working for First Franklin Financial Corp. in their Boston branch as a marketing coordinator. I like the job so far. I'm learning more about the mortgage industry. Plus, I get to travel every once in a while. :) If you'd like, you can check out my resume.
