Co-oping at

Co-oping at The Gillette Company was a fun and good learning experience for me. I worked in the Sales Information Services department for six months from June through December of 2000. Everyone here is really nice. For my 21st birthday, they threw me a great party with all the trimmings including trick candles. :P Some of them even took me out for dinner and for my second drink ever at Kowloon's. That was fun.

The atmosphere and job responsiblities were different from my previous co-op jobs, but I still enjoyed it a lot here. As a co-op, I assisted the sales analysts and the display coordinators with projects they gave me. I learned a lot about promotional funds management and sales forecasting. I became familiar with applications, such as SAP, SPG Product Catalog, G-DOS, AdsPay, and JDE. I learned how to process claims, load/transfer funds, reconcile displays, etc.

I actually worked here again from June through December of 2001. This time around, I continued to assist with the management of the Promotional Funds Management System (PFMS) within SAP, but I also helped with the conversion of Duracell data from AdsPay to SAP by identifying duplicate account information.

I learned a lot at Gillette, and not all of it was work-related. ;) I'll always remember the Maggiano luncheons, Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings in the cafeteria, parties, and laughter. :)

These are some of the people who I have met that have helped me, guided me, and made my co-ops there more fun:

Louise - For all you people who thought I had a long commute, you should talk to her. Compared to hers, mine is wonderful. ;)

Linda - She is such a sweet person, and is nice to work with.

Nancy - Anyone who's willing to bake a cake for my b-day is automatically cool in my book. :)

Nina - I worked with her in processing claims. She's also an author with a published book called Sincerely, Silia, which is an interesting read.

Susan - She's nice, and is always good with answering my Duracell questions.

Steve - He's my boss. He's always there when I need to talk to him, or to sign my timecard. ;)

Karen - She's always good with coming up with projects for me to do when I'm bored. :)

Diane - She's one of the first people that I met here. She showed me around, and helped me get settled. She's one of the most fun people I've ever worked with and is very funny. Plus, she's a Virgo like me. :)
