Baby Blue review

Yes, this is nothing new to Hysteric Blue fans, but they really resemble
Judy and Mary. Similar type of music, Tama's voice is cute and
high like Yuki's, the lyrics kinda remind me of some JAM songs, etc.
I'm not saying that they're clones of JAM, they've got some differences:
3 members to JAM's 4, Tama doesn't dress as cute & funky as Yukichan,
in one of their more recent singles ("Naze," to be exact) Tama's voice
doesn't really have that cutesy voice, it just sounds plain beautiful.
Another difference is that their debut album is a lot more impressive
than JAM's debut album JAM, which was mostly punk-based music. (Don't
get me wrong, I love that album.) Hysteric Blue's debut album consists of
some punk, some pop, some rock & roll, a funky reggae-ish song (only
during the verses), and a beautiful ballad. Much more diverse than JAM's
first album, so I think that Hysteric Blue has the staying power and I
hope that they continue to make good music together unlike JAM, who have
disbanded in 1998.
1. Power of Teens--A short, cute, & quirky reggae-ish of song.
2. Little Trip--3rd single. They totally reminded me of JAM in
this song & that's the main reason why I got this album. It's
an upbeat, feel-good kind of song.
3. Haru~Spring~--2nd single. The intro is fast, but when it gets
to the verses, the song slows down. Another great one.
4. Candy--A fun, but average song.
5. POKAPOKA--(Warm) The chorus is upbeat & Tama's voice gets high.
The verses are a bit mellow. Pretty good.
6. Shiroi Inori--(White Prayer) Punkish/rock & roll song. Very
fast. Lotsa bass. Eh.
7. Super Wing--A medium paced song. One of my faves from this
album. Tama's voice is a little too high so she sounds young &
innocent. A great driving song.
8. RUSH!--1st single (thanks for letting me know, Apple! :) )Starts
off kinda rushed (ha!) but during the verses, it sounds
semi-reggae-ish. As usual, the chorus picks up speed. Another
crazy & fun song.
9. Kanojo no Love Story--(Her love story) Medium paced song.
Another one of my faves.
10. MEMORII--(Memory) A slow one. Sounds like any other rock ballad,
but I really like this a lot.
Rating 8.5 out of 10!!!
