Ok, as you all must already know, Koyanagi Yuki really sounds like Misia.
From the soulful voice to the R&B beats. The only differences are that
Koyanagi doesn't do that Mariah Carey screech & has better vocal control,
but the sad part is that her songs aren't as catchy as Misia's. Sure,
Koyanagi's songs are good, but there's something missing from them & they
don't really grab my attention. Maybe it's because most of the songs
resemble American R&B music in which most of them are too mellow, so
it tends to sound alike after awhile. Well, despite that, I've rated this
album pretty decent because I have no problem with any of the songs & I
don't feel inclined to skip any of the tracks. IMO, that makes a good album.
- For those fans of her disco-ish singlee "Aijou," sorry, but you won't find
anything remotely like it on this album.
1. Anata no Kiss wo Kazoemashou--(a single). This is probably
her most popular song. An emotional ballad with powerful vocals. The part
where she shouts awful English lines irritates me though.
2. Orange Love--Medium paced R&B song. It's nice, but after a while,
I got a little bored of the chorus.
3. The place for two mind--A relaxing tropical song. This one I like.
4. melodies--A Misia-esque song with a funky bass line. Very cool.
5. boy--A cute, cheerful sounding song. Only problem is that it's not really
a cheerful topic. I think the H.N. version on her "Aijou" single suits the words
better but lately this song keeps popping in my mind more.
6. Shinin' Day--Another Misia-style song that I like.
7. I don't wanna be crazy--No R&B here. This is a moody, semi-rock
ballad with gospel vocals. Took me a while to get used to this song, but I like it
now.
8. gap of heart--A moody, mellow R&B song. Not bad.
9. infinity--Mellow song, but picks up a bit during the chorus. Pretty good.
10. be tomorrow--An average song. The chorus is catchy though.
11. fairyland
--(a single) Wow, this song sounds like a cute, upbeat anime song.
[Les: The beginning reminds me of the opening "Fushigi Yuugi" song] I was
surprised that she was the one who also sang "Anata no Kiss wo..." because the
songs are so different! Whatever. This song is the reason why I got this album!
12. Anata no Kisu wo Kazoemashou ~Opus II~--(single) This
is a duet with Kashif. Sounds almost exactly like the original. I like the bridge
part of the song better than the original because they sing the words,
instead of scream.
13. Anata no Kisu wo Kazoemashou ~Opus II~ (English)
--
Almost exactly like the "Opus II," but *surprise surprise* this one's in English.
Rating 7.5 out of 10!!!
