In this 4th album right after the unsurpassable Miracle Diving,
it's clear that JAM is going for a harder sound. But then again,
they maintain their pop sound & they also suprise you by adding a
little country music too. The end result: this makes a great
album, but one of my less favorite albums by them. In order of
my preference: Miracle Diving, Pop Life, Orange Sunshine,
The Power Source, & JAM.

Bandwise, they're as excellent as ever: Kawaii Yuki with her helium
vocals & playfully weird lyrics; kakko ii Takuya with his great guitar
playing & music writing, & lyric collaboration w/Yuki; Onda Yoshihito
w/his big hair, cool bass & music writing (I love 'Kaze ni Fukarete'!!!);
& Igarashi Kota w/his slick drumming & cool demeanor.

Well, bottom line, even though some of the other JAM albums were a bit
better, definitely pick up this album because it is well done &
shows a different side to JAM's music.

   1. Birthday Song--This song seems like moody heavy metal music, JAM style.

   2. Lovely Baby--A single. A punkish rock & roll song. Pretty catchy.

   3. Sobakasu--(freckles) A single. If you saw the anime "Rurouni Kenshin"
      you'll know this song.

   4. Kiss no Ondo--(temperature of a kiss) The beginning is strange so
I expected this to be a loud one, but then it surprised me by sounding
like a '50s(?) type of song. I like the background vocals (aah, aah). :)

   5. Happy?--Kinda rock & roll, kinda hard rock at times, kinda cool. The
backgrounds (wo, wo, wo) are amusing.

   6. Pinky Loves Her--A laidback country-type of song. Not bad.

   7. Kujira 12-gou--(whale #12) A single. I read somewhere that
this song reminded someone of the Red Hot Chili Peppers because of
the bassline & I have to agree, only this song is much more funky &
      energetic than the Chili Peppers.

   8. Classic--A single. A beautiful, melodic song. When
I first heard it, I had no clue what the title was so I actually
bought all of their albums at one time in hopes of finding this
song (I'm glad I did though)!!!

   9. Kaze ni Fukarete--This is definitely one of my favorites!
This song is mellow & every time I listen to it, it makes me feel so
      relaxed & nostalgic. Kinda country-ish.

  10. The Great Escape--Sort of a rock & roll song, but at
times, it has a punkish feel. Not bad.

Rating 7.5 out of 10!!!
