At the dawn of the 21 Century a race of ruthless aliens called Spider Crabs discovered the Earth. Ringo and Star (two oft the main characters) in a ship called the Blue Earth discover a strange capsule floating in space. After recovering it they see that a human is inside. When he wakes up, he tells the rescuers that his name is Slade. Then they are attacked by spider crabs wanting to destroy the Space Ring ,which is a ring that surrounds the Earth. Slade asks them to open the ship so he can get out. When they finally agree to do so Slade surprises them by undergoing an amazing transformation and turning into Teknoman. He is confronted by Gunnar but he is deafeated easily by Slade. When the Blue Earth gets back to the base they learned that Teknomen ( Darkon the leader of the Spider Crabs is a Teknoman) are Venomoids that were once humans, but they were imprisoned in capsules which erased their memory and turned them to evil. Slade didn't remember that his family was in a explorer ship and they discovered Darkon's ship. When they entered to explore it they were attacked by monsters and encapsuled. Slade's father was rejected and managed to save Slate and to put him in a capsule. Slade wasn't completely transformed so he was still good at heart. Slade remembered all this when her sister arrived. At this point Slade had long met his new foe Saber, who was Slade's brother. The station where the Space Knights ( the military group that Slade was part of) was being attacked. In a earlier fight Sabe had broken Slade's crystal (needed for transformation) so two of the mechanics created a robot that permitted Slade to transform. Shara, Slade's sister also transforms into a Teknowoman and she self-destructs in a effort to destroy Saber. Slade is I think devastated. Nobody knows that's where the American story ends.
An important detail of the story is that Slade cannot become Teknoman for more than 30 min. If he goes on longer than that, he will loose his humanity. This is Slade's worst nightmare and is an ever-present issue throughout the series.
Also If you don't recognize the Blue Teknoman. That is because it was a teknosuit made on earth (ringo pilotted it). The red one is Slade.
