The Language of The Heart

Kau satu terkasih
Kulihat di sinar matamu
Tersimpan kekayaan batinmu~

Kogure admires the determination he saw in Mitsui's eyes when his new friend said to him, "I'm gonna make Shohoku into one of the strongest team in Kanagawa! That's a promise!"
The shorter boy smiled as both of them hurried towards the gym for their first basketball practice in Shohoku.

Kogure: Mitsui Hisashi, you are my one and only. I see the shine in your eyes and there is kept the richness inside of you.

~Di dalam senyummu
Ku dengar bahasa kalbumu
Mangalun bening menggetarkan~

"I brought you this month's edition, Mitsui," Kogure said handing his friend the magazine.

"Hey, thanks!" said Mitsui happily.

Kogure looked around the hospital room and saw on a table beside the bed a framed picture of the Mitsui's old team after they had won the tournament which made Mitsui into an MVP.

"Is this the picture when your team won the district championship?" asked Kogure pointing to the photograph.

"Yeah," Mitsui replied.

Kogure faced his friend and said, "I wanted to ask since I met you on why you chose to enter Shohoku. Everyone thought you'd enter a more prestigous school."

Mitsui leaned forward to take the picture out of the frame and sat back to look at it before answering, "Because Anzai-sensei is here."
The MVP began telling Kogure how during that tournament he nearly gave up during the last 12 seconds before coach Anzai told him that to lose hope would mean that the game is over. With coach Anzai's words echoing in his mind he was filled with hope and he was determined to play his very best in front of that man.

"Without him, this picture would never have existed," said Mitsui still holding onto the photograph.
"Anzai-sensei, he was the one who helped me."

Seeing the softness in Mitsui's eyes for the first time, Kogure wonders if he is falling in love.

Kogure: Mitsui Hisashi, in your smile I hear the language of your heart and it's calm symphony shakes me.

~Kini dirimu yang selalu
Bertahta di benakku
Dan aku kan mengiringi bersama
Di setiap langkahmu~

Mitsui stood there just looking at Akagi being congratulated by their fellow team-mates after the tall boy successfully prevented him from scoring twice. Twice.

Then he felt a slap on his back. Kogure looked at him with an encouraging smile, "Hey, it's ok. He's too tall for us to handle."

"Kogure..."

Kogure: Mitsui Hisashi, you are the one who always fills my mind. And I will always be by your side in every step that you make.

~Percayalah
Hanya diriku paling mengerti
Kegelisahan jiwamu kasih
Dan arti kata kecewamu~

Kogure watched helplessly as Yohei approached Mitsui calmly. When the year one laid his first punch on the year three, Kogure felt his heart stop beating as Mitsui fell heavily on the floor.

"Stop. That's enough," Kogure said, laying his hand on Yohei's shoulder after Mitsui received six more strong punches from Sakuragi's friend. He just couldn't bear to see Mitsui hurt any more.

"Enough?" Kogure said looking at Mitsui. The battered boy gasped for breath as he looked at Kogure with anger and humiliation in his eyes.

Kogure: Mitsui Hisashi, believe me. Only I am the one who truly understands, my love, the turmoil of your soul and what failure means to you.

~Kasih yakinlah
Hanya aku yang paling memahami
Besar erti kejujuran diri
Indah sanubarimu kasih~

When coach Anzai entered the gym, Mitsui lost it. He dropped to his knees and sobbed, pouring out his heart and soul for the first time in two years.

Kogure: Mitsui Hisashi, my love, trust me. Only I am the one who truly understands the importance of self-honesty. There is great beauty inside of you, my love.

~Percayalah~

Kogure: Mitsui Hisashi, believe me.

"Mitsui!" Kogure cried out when his friend crashed into the chairs when running for the ball which was slapped out of Rukawa's hand by Fujima.

He quickly ran towards Mitsui and helped the exhausted boy up to walk towards the chairs where Shohoku teams sits. Even with the tiredness covering Mitsui's face and body, the player wasn't able to hide his anxiety on how Anzai-sensei would say about his weakness.

Kogure gripped Mitsui tighter as they walked, hoping to assure Mitsui without words. When they reached coach Anzai, Mitsui stood nervously in front of the man he most respected and apologised.

"Mitsui, Shohoku is lucky to have you," commented Anzai-sensei.

Kogure fought the urge to throw his arms around Mitsui when he saw the happiness shining out of his friend's face at those priceless words. Instead, the spectacled boy laid his hand on Mitsui's back and gave him a friendly pat.

Kogure: Soon, I'll tell you how I feel, Mitsui Hisashi, and I hope that you can accept me with all the love in my heart.

~The End~

Note: The song is sung by an Indonesian singer Titi DJ and its called 'Bahasa Kalbu' (lovely song ^^). I owe my gratitude to my mum & also to my friend, BB, in helping me to translate the lyrics to english that is used in this fic.
