Ah, Kenshin... Not only is the story great, the characters fabulous (and
cute, hee hee), but the music is good too! Well, I prefer the instrumentals
to all of the vocal pieces, so that's mostly what you're going to find
in this theme. I've put up a few of the openings and endings, but most
of these tracks are off of the Brilliant Collection cd 1 (never finished
downloading it all... yeah yeah, I know it's bad, but still!). Anyways,
quite a few of these are on idrive, so just remember to click the link
to get to the download page. I'm trying to find other servers that are
easier to deal with and don't have a bandwidth limitation like idrive,
but for now that's what I'm stuck with. Anyways, enjoy mina-san!

One Half (op2) (fixed)
Sung by Makoto Kawamoto. This song is okay. I don't know why,
but I don't think most of the opening and ending songs fit this
anime, except for TM Revolution's Heart of Sword. This is the
second opening.
|
Heart of Sword
Sung by TM Revolution. This is a great song, with lots of energy.
I think it's the 3rd and 5th openings song, but I could be totally
wrong. TM Revolution is a pretty good group--you should check out
their other stuff! Kawaiibunny's site usually has something of
theirs up! Recommended! ^_^
|
One Third no Junjou na Kanjou (end7)
Sung by Siam Shade. These guys are J-Rock, for those of you that aren't
familiar with the band. This song is on the softer side of their stuff,
though. It's a decent song, but it doesn't really seem to fit the spirit
of Kenshin's character and the time that he lived in very well. All the
BGMs are absolutely gorgeous and do fit, but the intros and endings are
odd choices, IMO.

Aisuru Hito wo Mamoru Tame Ni
Sung by Mayo Suzukaze, Kenshin's seiyuu. This is Kenshin's image song
(the only one I know of). It's okay. She's a pretty good singer, but
I think she uses a little too much vibrato. The melody is very happy,
kind of like 80s cartoons. I'm not sure I can see Kenshin singing a song
this happy, but no one asked me, so I'll just shut up. ^_^
|
One of These Nights
BGM from the ova. This is a gorgeous track, about 2 and a half
minutes long (I wish it was longer!). It goes from soft, plaintive
flute to loud orchestra back and forth. Totally awesome. If
there is only one Kenshin track you download, this is the one!
|
Kaoru's Theme (idrive)
BGM from the TV series. It's a pretty piece with alternating piano
and flute. Very nice. Also about 2 and a half minutes long.
|
Who Are You Protecting (original mix)
Track 1 from CD 1 of the Brilliant Collection. Soft and relaxing,
with a nice flute. Definitely the kind of track to zone out on. Oh yeah, this
is the music they play whenever Kenshin is about to kick some butt in the anime,
but he moralizes first. I like this track, but I don't think it belongs at the
beginning of a fight scene. But then again, I've only seen up to episode 8, so
that could completely change later in the anime.

The Last Wolf Suite
Track 4 of Brilliant Collection, CD 1. I love this track. It's dramatic and
intense. So fitting for the Shisio group. Be sure to download this one! ^_^
|
The Ishin Overthrow Plan
Track 6 from CD 1 of the Brilliant Collection. Gee, can you guess where I'm
getting all these songs from? Anyways, I don't remember much of this song either,
except that it sounds a bit like the Last Wolf Suite. Honestly, all of these
instrumentals are worth downloading. They are so much better than any of the
vocal tracks, including character image songs.
|
Fallen Angel (the Grey Angel)
Track 7 from CD 1 of the Brilliant Collection. This one is kind of sad but
dramatic too, as I recall. It's been a while since I've heard it, I admit.
|
Under the Cherry Blossom Tree
Track 8 from CD 1 of the Brilliant Collection. Has a marching
kind of sound to it. Very dramatic and intense. Way cool.
Just download it! : )

Priss As Sekiria is a collection of songs by the singer, Akira Sudou, for Priss
Asagiri in the newly released Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040. Although the singer
is not the same as the previous one from all the other Bubblegum Crisis series,
she supposedly sounds remarkably similar. In any case, these mp3s are encoded by
me, but you are free to use them on your webpages or whatever. They are zipped
to save server space. Since you guys picked this as the next theme, I hope you
enjoy it! Let me know about any broken link and I will try to fix it (hopefully
it won't be because of a deleted account!)

Waiting for You (re-tracked)
The first track of the album. Waiting for you is an okay song.
I'm not sure whether I prefer this version to the original or
not. They're both pretty decent. I like the lyrics of this
song, but there are points where Sudou is reeeeeeeally stretching
the vocals to hit the note and comes up waaaaaay short. It's
kinda hard to listen to that at times. I guess when it comes
down to it, this version is a little cooler, partially because
it's longer, and also because they've added cool background
stuff in between verses.
|
Tunnel no naka no Wakusei
The second track. I like the music, but man, is she off-pitch
a lot in this song! Especially during the chorus. But it's
okay. I guess I wish Sudou wouldn't try to force her notes,
because that's what makes her tone go flat. Sigh. Oh well.
Not everyone is classically trained, I suppose (not like I
totally am, but I've had my fair share of it, and I swear,
it changes your perception on music forever).
|
Y'know
Track 3. This is probably my favorite song on the album.
It's also the opening to the anime. She sings much better
in this track than in just about any of the others.
|
Bug List
Track 4. I don't really like this song this much, although
I kinda like the chorus. It's probably my least favorite
on the whole cd.
|
Ame
Track 5. I like this one a lot better than the previous
one. It's quieter, like Waiting For You, but there's a
neat rock section in the middle of the song.
|
Blue Confusion
Track 6. This song is quiet again, maybe more so than
Ame. I like it, except for the fact that Sudou is
off-pitch about half of the time.
|
Fuyu no Kakera (idrive)
Track 7. This is a really mellow song, unlike what
most people would expect from Priss (I admit to being
surprised at finding it here). It's nice. She sounds
so much better when she doesn't try to force her voice,
and fortunately she doesn't do much of that in this
song.
|
Waiting For You
Track 8. The ending of the anime. Her English
pronunciation in this is pretty bad, hate to say.
The song is okay, but the retrack version is better.
|
Idea
Track 9. This is more like Priss. I think this song
shows up in the anime, when Leon is hanging around
Hot Legs scoping Priss out for the first time. I
like this song a lot.
|
Bukkirabouna Ai Ni Oboretai
Track 10. Energetic and very rock. I like this one
the best. I think this song also shows up in the anime
but I don't remember for sure.
|
Y'know (Lectro-One)
Track 11. A remix of Y'know. I think I prefer the
original, although this one is kinda cool too. Maybe
because I've heard the original too many times from
watching the anime. : )
