Links

These are divided into a few sections, all of which are clearly marked. I've got a list of favorites, a list of sites that I borrowed images from, and just good sites in general. Just a warning: it could take hours to go through all the sites I'm linked to.

My Favorite Links
Kickass Mp3s

This is a good mp3 download/request site. It's part of the Mp3 Request Sites Affiliation. I actually have four members of that affiliation in this list.

This is another one of my favs. Also part of the Mp3 Request Sites Affiliation. She's got a lot of rare songs and has mp3s from more animes than I've ever heard of!

This is one of my favorite mp3 download sites. It's simple and attractive, without being overloaded with images and outrageous backgrounds. Mp3s are added every 4-5 days, and rotated. It's also part of the Mp3 Request Sites Affiliation. Gotta love those guys!

This is the infamous mp3 horde that has undergone serious changes with the new year, almost shutting down completely at one point. Thank god it's back up again! It's got the largest collection of Slayers music I've ever seen in one place! Thanks to Phoenixfeather for putting up with my silly emails! Your site rules, dear! ^_^

This is another mp3 download/request site I like a lot. Emika puts up about 4-5 songs every 1-2 weeks. Her site is simple and attractive without too many images to slow it down. Another of my favorites. Emika is a sweetie, too! Hee hee. One of my internet pals! : )

Another of the Mp3 Request Sites Affiliation. A good page, even though only the mp3 sections and a few other download sections are presently up. Nice design.

This site is basically dedicated to X-Japan, who rules of course so that in itself is a good reason to go there, but there are also many J-Rock, J-Pop and Anime mp3s as well. They even have full albums of L'Arc~en~Ciel, who I love, Glay, and Siam Shade, for starters. Definitely a cool site.

http://pam.126.com or http://www.oocities.org/Tokyo/Field/4849/menu.html
Oh my god, this site kicks ass! That's all I can think to say about it. All the good J-Rock artists are here, including mp3s, profiles, image/wallpaper galleries, and more! It rules! Glay, X-Japan, Hide, L'arc~en~Ciel, Siam Shade, Pierrot, Sugizo, Dir en grey, Mr. Children and so many more! Awesome!

Other Mp3 sites (not kickass but still cool)

http://members.tripod.com/~MichiK/mp3.html
I don't think this site is updated anymore, but there's still quite a collection of mp3s here that you can download. I got some of my collection here.

http://homepages.go.com/~chibigourry/MP3.html or http://fly.to/gourryg
This site has many of the popular and basic songs (meaning openings and endings) of about 30 different series. If you're missing an opening to an anime, this is a good place to check. But if you want rarer stuff, you most likely won't find it here.

http://www.oocities.org/Tokyo/Flats/6522/
This site only contains the OST of the 3rd and 4th Arislan anime. Apparently the webmaster has a link to another site of his that may have more music, but I've never actually taken a look at it.

http://members.tripod.com/~screamin_piccolo/index.htm
This site is primarily a J-Rock site, with some of the links to the mp3s still intact. The webmaster apparently has another site up, but I've never been there.

http://www.angelfire.com/music/Nanase/mp3.html
This page is devoted exclusively to that kickass J-Rock singer, Aikawa Nanase. There are also some J-Pop search engines on the site as well.

http://symphony.cyril.com
A page with ALL the EVA soundtracks except for the huge box set! If you're a huge fan of the EVA music and can't afford to buy any of the cds (like me), this is the place to go!

http://www.duellists.tj/~anshi/
Yet another page exclusively dedicated to the music of a particular anime series--in this case, Revolutionary Girl Utena. There are 8 OSTs on this site! If you're a fan of the anime, this is a great place to go for the music!

http://members.aol.com/xmikagamitokiyax/tokiya.html or http://go.to/tokiya
This site has a small collection of mp3s and links to and several anime episodes for download. The links to the downloads are pretty comprehensive and cover quite a few series, including Fushigi Yuugi, Slayers, Rurouni Kenshin, Yuu Yuu Hakusho and Flame of Recca.

http://welcome.to/animeweekly
This site has a database of available songs on several other sites. Updated pretty frequently, from what I can tell. Some of the sites are the ones I've got in the first section of the links.

Video Game Mp3 sites

http://www.gameinfonet.com/gamemusic
This site has all the Final Fantasy Soundtracks on an ftp site! It's often busy, so if you can download during non-peak hours, like inbetween classes or something, you'll have a good chance of getting all the mp3s you want!

http://dmoz.org/Games/Video_Games/Music/MP3
A database of some Video Game mp3 sites. There isn't much there yet, but one of these sites is a database in itself with many games listed and links to where you can download the music.

Mainstream/All-around Popular Sites

http://members.home.net/jpophelp
This page is a comprehensive listing of many J-Pop and Seiyuu artists, with some mp3s to download. Unfortunately, the only time I've ever attempted to download anything, the server was so slow it was supposed to take 4 hours! If you have a fast connection, like a cable modem or ethernet access in a dorm you will probably not have this problem.

The infamous anime turnpike! What's not to love about it? Now if only I can pull this site together so I can submit it to them...

http://www.anime-genesis.com
Another large site with tons of images, wallpapers, and links. A site I've borrowed images from multiple animes from at various times over the past year.

The wonderful anime pitstop, with its collection of links to many good image and wallpaper pages. I've borrowed images from those too, but I'm not sure which ones at this point.

Sites I've borrowed from
Images/Wallpaper (General)

Bishonen no Miko's awesome page! She's the first to dedicate such a comprehensive shrine to the various bishonen of animes we know and love. She's also got an extensive collection of images. A must visit for any bishonen fan!

A nice page with funky wallpapers. This page is devoted exclusively to FF8, but the webmistress has another page up that has wallpapers and icons for many anime series. You can go there by clicking on this link: http://www.atmosphere.be/extreme/zoo

Limechan's site rules! She's got a fabulous collection of wallpapers she made herself, many using backgrounds from Digital Blasphemy, which just rocks (check my Other Sites section for a link there!). She's also got info on, images and mp3s of various J-Pop artists. Overall an awesome site.

http://the.animearchive.org/index2.html
Another large site with tons of images, info and links. A site I've borrowed images from multiple animes from at various times over the past year.

http://www.oocities.org/Tokyo/Gulf/6337/nspage2.html
This site has backgrounds for 14 different anime series, plus a miscellanious section. As far as I can recall, I only borrowed from the Slayers and Rurouni Kenshin sections.

http://www.oocities.org/Tokyo/Teahouse/4550/
This site has backgrounds for different anime series. I don't think it's been updated in a while. I only borrowed one DNA^2 image.

http://animetheme.vill.edu/anime_n.html?http://animetheme.vill.edu/ff8/gallery
This site has wallpapers for many anime series including the FF series (there are some awesome FF8 wallpapers here!). The desktop layout is cute, and impressive too! I wouldn't have a clue how to do that! If you're interested in acquiring wallpapers, this site is a must!

http://pluto.spaceports.com/~cresmoon/mainmenu/Contents/Anime%20Archive/Anime%20Archive.htm
This site has image galleries for a lot of series, although most of them weren't up the last time I checked. I borrowed quite a few Arislan and Bakuretsu Hunter images here. Nicely designed.

[LINK: Anime MASTER - Pics, Logos, Video, Multimedia + More!]
This site has pics from about 14 different anime series. I only recall borrowing images from Vampire Hunter D and Iria. It's highly graphics intensive (almost to an exaggerated degree), so if you have a slow processor and/or internet connection, be prepared to wait A LONG TIME for everything to load (the backgrounds are a real killer).

Images/Wallpaper (Specific Series)

Okay, most of these sites I have borrowed from (at least that I remember), but some of them I haven't. Since I've got this organized by series, I figured the easiest way to do this is by throwing in all the series pages, whether I've borrowed from them or not.

Bakuretsu (Sorcerer) Hunter

http://www.oocities.org/ericoyama/Sorcerer.html
This site has manga scans from the English version of the Japanese manga series, Bakuretsu Hunter, provided by Mixx Entertainment. So far there are 3 issues of it up. There are also manga scans (presumably in English, although I haven't looked at them yet, so I could always be wrong) of Slayers and Record of Lodoss War. Pretty cool site.

Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040

http://www.oocities.org/ianna_prototype/
This is my best friend's site. The graphics are beautifully done (but then, what does one expect from a graphic artist? Hee hee). It's mostly devoted to BGC 2040, but the mp3s section feature anything and everything she thinks is cool. Heh, we do a lot of mp3 exchanging, so you'll find a lot of my collection over on her site at times (like the Aikawa Nanase stuff... I LOVE Aikawa!!!). G) VISIT!!!

http://www.oocities.org/Tokyo/Towers/1139/nbgcart.html
This site has a lot of info and pics of BGC. If you click on the link to "home" there's another page up by the webmaster on BGC, if you follow all the various links. I haven't checked it out yet, but it could possibly be bigger than this page (that's impressive too, since there aren't very many sites out yet that focus on BGC2040).

Fushigi Yuugi

http://www.oocities.org/Tokyo/Temple/1035/fygallery.html
This site has 10 galleries of FY images. Nicely done.

http://members.tripod.com/~reika/index.html
This site has a lot of information about the series. There are episode synopsi, manga translations, image galleries and more! I might have borrowed a few Tamahome images here for my friend Sara, who thinks he's super hot. (haha, Sara, your secret is out!)

This is a beautiful site done by two HUGE FY fans. They have covered just about every avenue of the series. If you're an FY fan or even just moderately interested in the series, you MUST go to this page!

Heroic Legend of Arislan

http://w3.animanga.com/Andromeda/Arslan
This site has info, images and general stuff about Arislan. I think the site is in both Spanish and English.

Rurouni Kenshin

http://oro.simplenet.com/oro/index.html
This used to be one of the largest Kenshin sites on the 'net, but I'm not sure if it's updated anymore. I know the person who originally ran it stopped, but whether it was turned over to anyone else, I don't know. I don't think I ever borrowed images from here, but I can't be sure. Regardless, check out their links page. There's a lot of great Kenshin sites out there, and these guys have most of them listed.

Slayers

http://www.oocities.org/hukotan/index.html
This site is basically dedicated to Slayers image galleries. Unlike most webmasters, this one openly admits to haven taken most of them. Therefore, he couldn't care less if anyone else took them, which I did. Still, I feel guilty not referring people to the site I got them from, so here it is.

http://my.netian.com/~ze1gadis/index2.htm
Another large Slayers site with tons of images, info and links. I've admittedly borrowed a lot of images from here. There are fanfics and a special Korean section as well, but all I was really interested in were the images. I'm not much of a fanfic person. I'd rather invent a story of my own completely before I'd rewrite something that already exists a certain way. Yeah, I'm weird about it. I think things should stand the way they were meant to be, even if ppl disagree (like for all those Lina/Zel pairing ppl, no offense guys). I respect everyone's opinion, but frankly, the ppl who created Slayers didn't intend to do things that way. Okay, I'll shut up now, since I don't know why I'm writing about that in the links page of all places!

http://www-personal.umich.edu/~sjwu/Slayers.html
This site has many rare scans from Slayers and Slayers NEXT that nobody is supposed to take, but everyone has, because I've found them on other sites. Heh heh, it was cool to see a fellow U of M student with a Slayers addiction... I don't know how many of us there are around here... ^_^

or http://www.oocities.org/pikapowa_5
This site has a lot of Slayers pics, info, and of course a forum on the largely debated issue of love in Slayers. I sometimes enjoy reading people's opinions on the subject, and it's nice to know that most ppl believe that things should go the way the creators intended them. But anyways, there are two different versions of this site. The first one is more complete, since the webmistress only recently opened the second, and you can follow that one by clicking on the banner. The newer page is the linked text.

http://www.fortunecity.com/rivendell/fireside/502
This site is nicely designed and primarily features Slayers pics, info, and so on, even though there are a few other series featured. The webmistress has also created her own webring, which I've joined. It's a neat page, with A LOT of images.

Random sites I like

http://www.listen.com
One of those popular mp3 sampling sites that have all genres of music (although I don't know if they have J-Pop yet) that you can download and sample. It's an affiliate of mp3.com

http://www.mp3.com
Like the site above, this site actually has all the mp3s for you to download. The above site has a program you can download that lets you listen to them online without having to download them, which is also nice. I've gotten a lot of Japanese traditional music here.
