Here's the comments I received on my site, when I was chosen as site of the week.
Michelle site of the week (by Sarah):
MKGA's website judging panel has gotten off to a great start! I really
appreciate the enthusiastic response, and I wish that I could have
accepted
everybody as a judge. For now, though, our panel consists of myself,
Hadas,
Valerie, Jennifer, and David. This feature of the newsletter is still
in
its developing stages, so keep an eye out for further updates!
This week's site is "A Shrine to Excellence: Michael's Michelle Kwan
Page"
(http://www.oocities.org/smileyllama/kwan.html). Here are the marks
for
technical merit and artistic impression:
David 5.2 5.5
Hadas 5.8 5.7
Jennifer 5.6 5.6
Sarah 5.6 5.8
Valerie 5.7 5.7
"A Shrine to Excellence" overall has a nice layout, and the consensus of
the
panel was that it's informative, appealing, and inviting. This site was
easy to navigate and demonstrated a good knowledge of HTML. Maybe it
could
be better organized, with features grouped under headings such as "Fan
Goodies," etc. More graphics and/or music on the main page would also
be a
bonus, but those graphics it does include are great! For example, upon
arriving, the first thing a visitor sees is a square with Michelle's
face in
four colors -- pretty unique. Michael also offers a page of his
artistic
Michelle animations which can be used on EZBoard, a definite plus. The
site
was updated last week and includes concise information on Michelle's
latest
competitions, but it could offer more extensive news. There is a good
biography giving an overview of Michelle's career. The photo library is
categorized by season and contains credits, which other sites sometimes
don't. Michael shows his skill with graphics in his (pretend)
advertisement
for a "pet Michelle." Most judges found this really original and cute,
but
it was also thought that fans expecting a real "computer pet" might be
disappointed. Deductions were taken for some graphics and links that
didn't
work. Finally, the CMN Origami Project is not only creative but also a
tribute to the Michelle spirit of generosity and kindness; all Angels
should
check it out! Michael reports that a new version of the site,
http://kwanshrine.tripod.com, is under construction!
