There's not much more I can say about Shinji and Kaworu. Even though they're together for only one day and one night, they're one of the most amazing couples in anime. They are complete yin and yang: Kaworu is an angel who understands everything about humanity, but Shinji is the human boy through which he can truly feel it. Shinji helped Kaworu truly live, made his life meaningful. In return, Kaworu showed Shinji the love and caring he had never been given before. For all my selfish love of Shinji, Kaworu gives him something I never can: he completes his soul.
