The following came off of the internet, and has been confirmed through our local police department of its authenticity. Hello, this is to warn everyone of a new thing happening in communities as a gang initiation and such. If you care about anyone, please forward this to them immediately so they can learn of the possible harm. Even if you don't read this, at least forward it to people. Hello, my name is Tina Strongman and I work at a police station, as a phone operator for 911. Lately, we've received many phone calls pertaining to a new sort of problem that has arisen in the inner cities, and is now working it's way to smaller towns. It seems that a new form of gang initiation is to go find as many pay phones as possible and put a mixture of LSD and Strychnine onto the buttons. This mixture is deadly to the human touch, and apparently, this has killed some people on the east coast. Strychnine is a chemical used in rat poison and is easily separated from the rest of the chemicals. When mixed with LSD, it creates a substance that is easily absorbed into the human flesh, and highly fatal. Please be careful if you are using a pay phone anywhere. You may want to wipe it off, or just not use one at all. If you have any questions, you can contact me at the links listed below. Please be very careful. May I asked what your "local police department" is and in which city this incident has been reported? Xiren, I know you posted this here out of goodwill, but it sounds like a hoax to me, especially when I have seen these 2 websites: Another Round of PayPhone Hysteria
I'm not sure if they can form a deadly mixture, but both substances are fatal only if they are ingested and they couldn't penetrate your skin. As long as you don't have lesions on your fingers, there shouldn't be much to worry about. For those who are still scared, just make sure you wash your hands before doing anything else. |

piglet, Our IT manager distributed this letter to the entire company, and said that he had confirmation through the ********* Police Department (where my company is at), and "There was enough concern by the Police that all the school officials in the area were notified of this potential problem." I wouldn't think that he had lied to us. |

suizett, I don't know how credible this letter is, and have no knowledge of any incidents mentioned in this letter. In fact, I have never heard of it until today. The only thing I'm sure of is that the person who sent me this message did confirm with the police department, and the police did have the concern, so I decided to spread the words. I agree with piglet that this letter looks suspicious, and it might be a hoax, but my philosophy is -- Better safe than sorry! |

給我查出了strychnine和LSD的chemical structures，看上去似乎不像會生什麼化學作 用，也找不出在人體內可有什麼副作用。少量LSD 只不過是興奮劑，致命的應該是strychnine， 網上也看不到有關混合劑會比單一樣更厲害的 資料。strychnine雖然很毒，但也不會一指頭 便致命，而且兩者都有解藥。只要不舔電話聽筒 或按鈕，相信還是很安全的。 這世上不知有多少人出盡辦法，惟恐世界不亂，
