The Boss asked for a letter describing Bob Smith:

Bob Smith, my assistant programmer, can always be found
hard at work in his cubicle. Bob works independently, without
wasting company time talking to colleagues. Bob never
thinks twice about assisting fellow employees, and he always
finishes given assignments on time. Often Bob takes extended
measures to complete his work, sometimes skipping coffee
breaks. Bob is a dedicated individual who has absolutely no
vanity in spite of his high accomplishments and profound
knowledge in his field. I firmly believe that Bob can be
classed as a high-caliber employee, the type which cannot be
dispensed with. Consequently, I duly recommend that Bob be
promoted to executive management, and a proposal will be
executed as soon as possible.

A MEMO WAS SOON SENT FOLLOWING THE LETTER:

That idiot was reading over my shoulder while I wrote the
report sent to you earlier today. Kindly read only the odd
numbered lines (1, 3, 5, etc...) for my true assessment of him.

"executed as soon as possible"? That's cruel.

It's kind of how to read... hope this helps...

What I read on my computer is like:

Bob Smith, my assistant programmer, can always be
found
hard at work in his cubicle. Bob ffb works independently,
without
wasting company time talking to colleagues. Bob
never

thinks twice about assisting fellow employees, and he
always

Pretty hard to be read becasue of the linefeeds, isn't it? That's why I chose a smaller font and added line numbers.

On my computer, you original message was fine and dandy; but your second message was full of linefeeds, however, the line numbers helped overcome the problem.

Are you talking to me or XiaHouJi, or both? I'm being totally serious here.
一逗(號1)之差? What are you talking about.

回無忌﹕
對不起!我以為你是就夏侯雞那句
 this is great man
~= this is (a) great (one), Man!
那個「man」而回應。因為我是頗討厭時下年
青人說話時輕佻的態度,尤其每句都加一些無
謂的字詞如「o耶」、「I tell you what」、
「man」、「囉」,我誤會你在「批評」夏侯
雞,卻覺得那個「man」在這裡用得自然,不
同那些「諗口簧」的贅詞……就當是我在亂放
那個「氣」好了……

Thank you for your explanation. I thought Ji was actually saying "This is a great man." Now I know that he meant "This is a great one, man."
