Double Eclipse

She unfolded her new clothes. No underwear or bra?! How do these people dress? Don’t they feel drafty? She picked up a light dress that resembled sleeping clothes, and put it on first. Then there was layer after layer of long hanging cloth that rapped around her waist, her arms, then her neck. Finally, there were two pin-like ornaments. Remembering how the old lady was dressed, Star applied the decorative onto her shoulders. Wow! This does all fit together perfectly! I guess fashion here isn’t that bad after all. After Star dressed up, she walked out of her room, clumsily. The gentlewoman was cooking in another room. Casually, Star walked passes her and headed for the exit. In the fresh air, she briefly combed her white hair with her fingers and flings up her black bangs. She then took a string and tied her long hair into a loose braid. Oddly, the hut stood alone beside the flat, wide shore.

It’s the ocean! It’s beautiful and clean, and no cigarette butts too! Oh! I can stay here forever... What am I saying?! I have to get back home. But still... no research papers due! Hee hee! She continued down the coast, feeling a sense of belonging, but it frightened her that she could feel so familiar with the land. A young man walked up behind her and answered, "You’re up!"

Surprised, Star spun around and encountered a youthful face whose smile resembled the gentlewomen. His hair was black and wavy and his eyes... His eyes are so filled with thought, as if he knows me, and I him... Why? I never met him before! In a grateful manner, she said, "You must be the one who saved me! I have to thank you."

"It was nothing. To tell you the truth, at first I thought you were dead, but you proved me wrong." They both smiled.

"I have something to ask you. Did you find an earring anywhere with me? I can’t find it."

He hesitated. "No, I’m sorry, but I didn’t see anything... Is it very important to you?"

Her cheeks tinted scarlet at the thought of the one who gave her this gift; however Star was still upset that it was missing. "Yes, it is very important to me. I maybe the only possession I have now most dear to me..."

A slight glint of coldness entered his eyes, but disappeared as quickly as it came.

"Are you okay?" Star asked curiously.

"Oh! Would you like something to eat?"

"Yes!" She said fervently, "Oh... I almost forgot!" Giggled Star. "My name is Star. What is yours?"

"It’s... Kyro. I’m glad you’re laughing." "Brother Kyro, are you talking to the pretty lady?" A little girl in alabaster draping appeared behind him. Her eye glowed with curiosity and mischief. Her dark brown hair was slightly tangled by carelessness.

"This is Mxyno, my little sister."

"Hi Mxyno. You’re very pretty yourself, too."

Mxyno blushed and glided over to Star’s hand and placed a tiny, wild flower on her palm.

"This is a greeting flower. It means many good wishes come to you..." A flower... 'For you...' I don’t understand... "Thank you, Mxyno."

"I’m hungry, Kyro! Lady, are you hungry?"

With a huge smile, she answered, "Let’s eat! I’m starving!"

In a unique, gentleman manner, Kyro held out his arm. Smiling, she took it and entered the house.

I wonder where did Swift go?
