Remnants of You
If ever again, I close my eyes
Your presence there, shall ease my mind
If ever a time, my soul defies
Memories of you, my soul shall find

Ever in youth, ever in pain
My life it seems, a dreadful game
The seconds of life, I’ll not regain
But worth the wait, and worth the shame

The crimes of life, that sit in wait
And prey upon, the weakened soul
The hungry beast, whom seals my fate
Shall feast upon, my heart of coal

Though bathed in death, as darkness falls
My thoughts of you, divert the qualm
Ignore the lies, and demon calls
And picture you, to bring the calm

Your soothing smile, and gentle glance
Can ease the mind, of angered wrath
Your sight a joy, I stare in trance
As bliss maps out, my future path

My heart sings out, at your embrace
The songs of joy, that angels ring
The graveled fears, that my thoughts trace
Are soon erased, by joys you bring

Forever lost, in dreams of you
Drowning in thoughts, of raptured bliss
Afraid to wake, from vision’s cue
Then find I’d lost, all I would miss
