Buddha Brand

Buddha Brand are quite a hardcore rap group. Sometimes their music can be a little too jazzy, but most of their songs are pretty damn good.

They dont seem to record full length albums. They seem to release most of their songs in 5-7 track releases. Also for some reason, all their CD's seem to have cardboard covers instead of plastic - maybe to save the environment?

I have 2 of their CD's - "Kurofune" - which is the closest thing they have to an album, and a single called "Buddha no Kyujitsu". For me their best moments are the remix of hatsudensho, illson, and the song they did with Shakkazombie - "Okami".

They do a lot of collaboration work, and Dev Large produces tracks for other artists. One particularly good track is "Dispatch (space buddha pimp)" which they did with M-flo.

NIPPS has a solo album, which I havent heard myself, but have heard clips from, and sounds like a great album. It features a lot of heavy weight guest appearances, and the other Buddha Brand members seem to feature a lot, so I guess its kind of like when a wu-tang member brings out an album - its the same as the whole group, but just the emphasis changed. hatsudensho.mp3
ill dendou mono mp3
dispatch.mp3 (m-flo featuring buddhabrand. more like buddhabrand featuring m-flo though.)
