BARBIE HEADS AS ART

An exercise in open-ended kinetic pop art.

THE ARTIST

About the Page: This is starting out as a showcase for a few, not-so-well-done photos of Barbie heads which are hanging from my cieling. This is kind of a constantly growing project which consists of people giving me old Barbie heads and me maiming them and hanging them by thread from my cieling. The photos are below. Eventually, I'd like to expand the page to include other things. Maybe dedicating a page to each artist. So if you're interested in getting involved in making this thing happen, email me. Any kind of help is appreciated - artwork, help with the page itself, whatever you can offer.

About Me: Starting in 5th grade, I attended JR Masterman middle school. Here, I had my first real art classes. I failed miserably. My teachers hated me because I was a pain in the ass and I couldn't seem to turn anything in on time. At the time, I was doing really bad comic book art. After 7th grade I left Masterman and stayed home for a couple of years and I became interested in Japanese art. I reentered the educational world at West Philadelphia Catholic High School and quickly became interested in pencil and charcoal drawing.
