Imaginary Crimes
This movie was quite a surprise. The plot sounds like it would make a really weak movie, it stars Harvey Keitel, and Fairuza Balk's acting is not as good as what she is capable of. However, this is probably, my favorite movie. Keitel is an unsuccesful conman/inventor who gets himself into serious trouble with his partners and investors. His wife dies of cancer, and when he abandons his two daughters, Fairuza Balk is forced to raise her younger sister. Even the ending defies its own cheesiness and left me with a very uneasy feeling. I think Harvey Keitel's bad acting actually helped the movie because his character was such a sleaze ball. Definitely a must-see. |
