She uses two word repeat to blame the many violence of the past to be all the fault of men alone as women stood by innocent, “as mercy veiled her face.” Many two word repeat. Men are in control of the government at the time, and she goes on to insult them. Does she really expect the men to cooperate with her with all the insults towards them? This isn’t a war; you can’t divide the sexes and fight. Although she is trying to gather more women to fight for the common cause of woman suffrage, she shouldn’t insult those who are to give them their wants. Her speech for the so called equality is contradicted as she relates to the female gender as the ignored but truly dominant of the sexes. Her speech gives the audience a view of the female sex as a hidden saint. This doesn’t seem like an argument for right but more of an argument for control. Help unites women by giving them the feeling of imprisonment “as long as man feeds woman she will try to please the giver.” Giver implies the thought of slavery as she didn’t have a choice. Women are shadowed by their husband as they can only follow in his footstep which “strips her of every inalienable right.”
