Kineta was not with Amera her whole life. Kineta wanted to see what peasant life was like. She wore a cloak to cover her true identity and was very poor. Because of this, she was the talk of the town. Amera “Took her under her wing”, and cared for her. That’s when she found out her true identity. For this act of kindness, Kineta gave her a staff to help in these acts of kindesses. They remained great friends after this, and she was asked to protect Amera as well. When Amera was killed, she wept to her mother that it was her fault and wanted a second chance. Bastet told her daughter that Amera’s spirit would be reborn. Kineta was placed in a temple of Bastet and put to sleep until someone read a certain incantation. Rose, Alex’s grandma, was this someone. Before she went to sleep, her mother told her that her power wasn’t strong enough. If she failed, she could never come back to the place of the gods. Kineta accepted this. She would not fail her mother and friend again. This is all Kineta can remember of her past.
Kineta is a very skilled dancer. Since her mother was the Goddess of cats, music and dancing, she inherited this.
Being asleep for 3500 years had an effect on Kineta’s personality. She became annoying and a trickster. One thing she likes more than annoying other people, is playing trick on people who don’t have a sense of humor. This means that Rath and Ja-kal are usually caught in in her traps. Out of all the guardians, Kineta takes best to the modern world since she has had more time to learn about it. Kineta’s 2 main fears are failing again and dogs, of course. When fights get too tough, Kineta’s attitude will reverse back to the years with Amera. Kineta is loyal, but doesn’t like to be ordered around. She is a half goddess after all.
She carries her mother’s staff with her and uses it with great skill. She also would rather use magic before egypt-su. She likes the easy way out. Bastet gave her daughter the power to turn into a full human and a full cat. When she’s in cat form, she recharges. When she’s in full human form, Kineta’s armor is that of a princesses wardrobe, which gives her an odd advantage. It makes her seem harmless and helpless. Kineta can also be in human form without being in her armor, but it still uses up her power. Kineta hardly ever fights in goddess form.
Kineta’s nickname is Liz. This is short for Lizzard, which she hates being called. Alex gave her the name when she was 2. Instead of calling her a Kitty, she called her a Lizzard.
One thing Alex does not understand is that why Ja-kal and Kineta always fight. They DO have many differences but it all leads down to both of them are lonesome and long to be with their families once again
