Site Conventions/FAQ

Hi, there, and welcome to the backside of the "MSTing of Dragonball-Z" site. Here's a few things that might make the site more comprehensible to you. Or not...

Comments by the 'Bots and Mike are indented --

-- like this. Get it? Got it? Good! Characters in Dragonball-Z think to themselves a lot, but through the miracle of echo chambers, we can hear them. Character's thoughts are presented in italics.

Character names are phonetically spelled since, after all, if it were a real MST3K episode, you wouldn't be able to see the correct spelling. If the joke's funnier with a Japanese name phonetically translated into an English word, that's how I write it.

The site isn't updated that often, maybe once every four months. I know that. I don't need people emailing me to point out that the site isn't updated that often. In fact, notice that my email address is no-where on this site. I didn't accidentally leave my email off of the site. I don't want any email about the site. When it comes right down to it, email irritates me. Often it makes me shut down the computer for days while I read a good book instead. Some of you might try that if you're so hard up for entertainment you have to email me about how my site isn't updated that often. Frankly, I find such emails too much like my mother wanting to know if I've cleaned my apartment recently. If I need to be nagged, I can call her. I don't need perfect strangers WhO tENd to TyPE liK thEY OVER_diD tHE MerLoT nagging me as well.

I watch these episodes twice: once while taping them, once while transcripting them. The transcriptions are not exact. They aren't meant to be exact. I'm not going to put any effort into making them exact. You're just darned lucky I bother to spell check 'em before putting them online. Besides, the episodes themselves are inexact translations of the orginal Japanese anime, and lots of stuff just doesn't translate exactly. (That works both ways, of course; try translating "that flibbergy gibbet varmit" into Japanese some time!) So it really doesn't matter if Bulma says "ummmf" in the video and it gets written "hmmmf" in the transcriptions. Trust me on that, okay?

If you're not especially interested in MSTed Dragonball Z episodes, no problem! You can download sounds (found at the end of each experiment), or if you have a fast connection and gobs of room on your hard-drive, you can get some QuickTime movies from the Misc. Stuff page.

Above all...lighten up! This is going to be fun!
