Lots of minor and unimportant NPC girls.

Temperament: Youta Saotome is a "nice kind of a Bon Vivant". He's calm almost all of the time, and it takes a lot of trying to make him angry. Not even insults at his family will phase him - he believes that "barking dogs never bite". He has a major ego syndrom, which is inflated to the point where he doesn't feel the urge to prove himself all the time against anyone in any way. He simply believes he's the best and nothing'd change it.

He doesn't care about martial arts that much. He believes there's more to life than special techniques and the ability to kick anyone's ass. He doesn't follow the standard bushido code either. He has his own honor code, which could be summarized with three sentences: "Carpe Diem", "I'm the best, screw the rest" and "Men don't hit defenseless ladies".

Because of his way of acting and his (stupid) ideas - adding to the knack he inherited from his mother to attract the opposite sex -, Youta gained a reasonably large fan club of girls. He doesn't really take it seriously but, as he said, "if they want to worship a cool guy, I don't mind if it's me". He DOES take some advantage from it, though... Whenever he wants some female company - be it for a date or for any other reason -, he doesn't have any problems finding it thanks to his fans. However, he never goes too far. He is a big teaser and flirts around a lot, but he's not stupid to do anything he could regret later.

Actually, Youta has incredibly well-balanced emotions for a Saotome guy. He has almost complete control over his own emotions - thanks to his father's "cold chi" training required to learn some of the best techniques in the Saotome school. There's only one thing that can escape his control, though... His pride as a master dancer can make him do stupid things just to prove himself as the "coolest of the cool", actually causing the only exception he makes at his "I don't need to prove myself to just anyone" philosphy.

Oh yeah... He might be the first Saotome in all History who thinks with the brains more than with the fists... He is quite smart, smart enough to avoid and escape even the plots and business tricks from his aunt Nabiki at least. (It must run in the Tendo blood...)

History: Youta had a very calm childhood compared to what anyone would expect for a Saotome boy. He didn't inherit his parents' interest in martial arts, though. He did train and learn what his parents made him learn, even participating in some training trips with either his parents or the Hibiki's, but he basically used the training as a form to develop new skills - not with the desire to become the best fighter, but rather to take his place as "the coolest guy in the area". Nobody knows where he got that idea from, but it became the main driving force of his personality. Akane sometimes says Youta inherited his father's ego. Ranma says Akane spoiled her "little fighter boy". In fact, they're both right.

Ever since he remembers, Youta always saw his parents fighting and arguing, only to forget and forgive shortly after. Although he knows they ARE in love with each other, which made them into a real family, Youta ultimately got tired of their childish bickerings. Adding it to Akane's lack of talent for housekeeping and Ranma's business inability (which is the main reason why the "best martial artist in Nerima", and maybe in all of Japan, isn't rich nor world-wide famous), Youta stopped taking any of them seriously. He still respects them, however he isn't that formal and his respect isn't completely evident... He calls Ranma 'old man' and he uses to make fun of Akane's cooking - not the result, since he was grown up to resist and even like the taste of her cooking, but rather the struggle she puts on the kitchen for any and every meal she makes.

He practically grew up with the Hibiki's kids, always playing the leader in their childhood games, since he was the oldest - which always caused fights between him and Kantoro, or Kenji... and sometimes even Matoko herself! After so many years, he sees them as the siblings he never had... And he also says he's glad he's an only son for that! The closest to him of the three would be Kantoro - they are each other's sworn rivals, and just like their parents, they ended up getting along quite fine after a while, their rivalry reduced to a mere childhood plaything. He doesn't care that much about Kenji, since the "Everlost Brat" never acted any civilised towards him. With Matoko things always were much calmer, as one would expect. Teached since childhood to respect and take girls seriously (thanks to his mother, Akane), he was one of the few who actually took Matoko's martial art abilites seriously, and was one of the fewer who felt sorry when she stopped training properly. Anyway, he could be the only guy who never got a blackeye from Matoko. (^_^)

When Youta enrolled Fuurinkan High around 2 years ago, he was attracted to the Dancing Club. When his agility and speed earned the main role in his first performance, he had discovered his passion. And when some girls started cheering for him, acting like crazy around him and even founding a fan club for him... He couldn't escape the horrible nick of "Casanova of Fuurinkan High". He never liked that nickname, but he couldn't do anything to destroy it. In the end, he just accepted it and played along. After some time, he started taking dancing more seriously than martial arts, but to avoid problems with his family Youta joined them in a new style of Anything-Goes... which he is still perfecting.

Last month, Youta and Ranma had an argument on whether Youta's "Dancing Revolution Fist" style is real new martial arts or just some stupid thing Youta had made to have fun and avoid real training. Angry with his father, Youta left on a trip to defeat as many dojos he could with his new style. He spent the past 3 weeks traveling and fighting and winning non-stop, and now he's coming back home with many dojo signs as trophys... Classes at Fuurinkan High should be starting soon and he doesn't want to be reproved.

Goals: Youta wants to become a major dancing star, and if he needs to create a new Anything-Goes style to keep practicing without his parents bugging him about martial arts, then he'll do so. That's why he's having the problem of perfecting and proving his "Dancing Revolution Fist" style.
