TEMPERMENT: For the most part, Kakedashi projects an easygoing, carefree and sarcastic attitude to the world. While he genuinely cares about people, it is difficult for him to trust anyone or to form close bonds, so he wisecracks and mocks to keep folks at a distance, as well as for entertainment. He has a strong sense of honor (a legacy from all 3 of his parents) and has a particularly strong dislike for those who use poisons in a fight and those who attack the weak or innocent. Although fairly well self-controlled, he has also inherited Akane's temper, and if he gets angry, he gets VERY angry. A certain way to see that is to threaten his family, or Matoko. Due to an incident when he was 4, cats make him uneasy: The larger the cat, the greater his agitation. He sees Kantoro as a kindred soul and their friendship is strong despite of the constant jokes and insults flying back and forth.

BRIEF HISTORY: "After his last fight with Ranma, Ryu left Nerima to wander a bit and find a new life. He met a woman named Midori and they fell in love. They married, and when they found out that they were going to have a child, they went to Nerima so that Ryu could introduce her to Ranma and Akane and make his peace with them. That meeting never took place because when they arrived in town, Midori went into premature labor and was rushed to the hospital. Three hours later, a young doctor came to Ryu with the horrible news that both the mother and child were dead. He was in a state of numb disbelief, still trying to understand how this could happen, when he saw, in the nursery, Ranma and Akane's newborn, HEALTHY son, and he went mad. He broke in and switched the two children, then fled Nerima with Kakedashi, leaving the Saotomes to feel the grief of losing their child. Eventually, Ryu's sanity returned, but his shame prevented him from admitting what he had done, so he raised Kakedashi as his own son. They travelled all over, living off the land as much as they could, doing odd jobs to earn living money, and occasionally resorting to thievery when no work could be found. Kake learned a great deal from this time, and he and Ryu were close. Eventually, when he was 15, Ryu, unable to stand the dishonor any longer, told him the truth. Kake felt betrayed and headed for Nerima to find his real parents. He told them the story and they welcomed him. Having a home and a family is new to him, and he likes it. He soon met the members of the Hibiki clan, and it has been an interesting trip, indeed..."

MAIN GOAL: To learn as much as possible and become the best martial artist he can be. To stand with and protect his family and friends. To test himself constantly so he won't stagnate in his skills.
