History of Di Gi Charat
Di Gi Charat, along with Gema, originally was created by the company Broccoli to be used as the mascot for an anime, video, and game store in Japan called Gamers. Di Gi Charat began appearing in commericals for Gamers and she was given her own music and drama cds. The Japanese fans liked Di Gi Charat so much that they started buying everything with Di Gi Charat's likness on it. In 1999, Gamers, along with Broccoli, finally created a TV series. The series lasted for 16 episodes which ran for about 4 to 7 minutes each. The series introduced new characters including: Petit Charact, Rabi~en~Rose, Minagawa Takurou, Kimura Takurou, Bukimi, and Hen na Ikimono. Later a Summer Special was made that contained four/ 15 minute long episodes. That series introduced more new characters including Pyocola Analogue III and the Black Gema-Gema Gang. The Recent series for Di Gi Charat is the Chirstmas Special. |
