Mizuno Ami is the Pretty Soldier Sailor Mercury. Ami lives with her mother, who is a doctor, in a fancy apartment building. Her father, an artist, left them a couple years ago. Ami is always studying, as she wants to become a doctor herself. Wherever she goes (including a Three Lights concert) she brings a textbook with her, never missing the opportunity to get another five chapters ahead of the class. After school she heads to a cram school, which is like an extra hour of so of studying (these are used mostly to study for Japanese high school entrance exams, which are VERY hard.) Ami also plays chess, to clear her mind, and swims.
        In "Ami's First Love," a special fifteen minute or so mini movie that played in theatres before the opening of the S movie, Ami gets her first crush on a mysterious guy with a pen name of “Mercurious.”  She gets a love letter, and then breaks out in hives. ^.^;
      As Sailor Mercury, Ami has two special weapons she uses to help fight the enemy. She has a mini Mercury computer, which she uses to work strategies and to configure operations. She also has a mini visor she uses which analyzes the enemy which hopefully can help with any weaknesses the enemy might have.
