Here you a can find some basic information on some other anime I enjoy, and hopefully I'll eventually be able to put up an introductory guide to anime and manga itself.
Magic Knight Rayearth, written in manga form by the very talented ladies of CLAMP, is the story of three girls. Hikaru, Umi and Fuu are destined to become the Magic Knights of another world called Cephiro. The evil lord Zagato kidnapped Princess Emeraude, bringing forth the destruction of Cephiro. The three girls first meet during their school trips to the Tokyo Tower. There they are taken to the land of Cephiro where they discover themselves to be the lengendary Magic Knights. There they risk everything to save Princess Emeraude, only to find out the true reason they were called there.
The story of Ah! Megami Sama (Oh My Goddess!) begins when Keiichi Morisato picks up the phone to order take out. He dials the wrong number, accidentally calling the goddess hotline instead! Immediately, the goddess Belldandy comes to grant Keiichi one wish. Thinking it's some kind of joke of his frat buddies, Keiichi wishes that a beautiful girl like Belldandy would be with him forever. Belldandy now has to stay with Keiichi on earth. Keiichi gets kicked out of his dorm (being it all-male) and he and Belldandy live in a temple. Soon Belldandy's two sisters, Skuld and Urd show up as well as her enemy Mara and trouble starts.
Ranma 1/2 begins when Ranma is taken along on a martial arts trip to China by his father. Since neither of them understand or speak Chinese, this is kind of a problem. Nevertheless, Ranma and his father, Genma, begin their martial arts training standing on bamboo poles in a cursed spring. Both Ranma and Genma fall in one of the springs. Now, with a splash of cold water Ranma tranforms into a red-headed female version of himself, and Genma into a big panda bear. They travel to the Tendo house, where Ranma is engaged to the youngest Tendo, Akane. Along the way Ranma encounters many enemies such as Shampoo who fell into the cursed spring of the drowned cat, Ryoga who fell into the spring of the drowned pig (P-chan!) and Vykou. They either want to kill one of his halves, or marry the other. ^.^
Tenchi Muyo! (No Need For Tenchi!) is the story of a regular guy, Tenchi. He lives at his grandfather's temple shrine, and one day he accidentally let loose a demon his grandfather trapped their years before. Ryoko, the demon, instead of killing Tenchi, fell in love with him. Tenchi then discovers his grandfather is the long-lost prince of a planet called Jurai. He was stranded on earth years before while chasing Ryoko. His ship crashed, so he couldn't return to his planet. Aeka, princess of Jurai and half sister to Tenchi's grandfather, came searching for him and found Tenchi instead. Washu, the greatest mind in the universe shows up, along with Aeka's sister Sasami, and Kiyone and Mihoshi of the galaxy police. And we can't forget that adorable little cabbit Ryo-ohki!!!
