CWI also known as Cloverway is the new company that now has the rights to Sailor Moon. I give them credit for attempting to dub the series and bring it to us. However, the new voices they have chosen for the characters are terrible, and has anyone else noticed that they talk way too fast? Most people think CWI is really great for dubbing the storyline so closely, but really they haven't. Conversations have been mostly kept intact, but that doesn't meant he plot has. The Talisman idea of the S season was completely demolished, and the whole point of the Holy Grail was smashed. Instead, it's called the Purity Chalice (I understand their point of view there about changing the name, because calling it the Holy Grail or Sacred Cup could be offensive to some because of Christianity.) and the Talismans have virtually no role in the story except for being the Outers' "Sacred Objects." Hopefully the SuperS story won't be terribly shattered, but I have a feeling poor Fisheye will cause quite a controversy...not that he would mind. ^_^

DIC

I don't like them. I can't say why, exactly, but the dub never REALLY appealed to me. FIfth grade was the first time I saw it, and I have to say, I don't really remember it. A couple years later when my cable company finally carried Cartoon Network, I looked into it and found out the times when Sailor Moon was on. I was excited to discover it was on right have school. Unfortunately, my high hopes were too high and soon the dub was boring. They cut out the good action, and the voices were just too much for me to bear. I understand DiC's views of making the show for little children. The audience they expected was about six years old and above. Therefore, they had to change things around so it would be acceptable, such as Kunzite and Zoicite's homosexuality. Insults they used were things like "marshmellow brain." Ouch, that hurts.
This was first dubbed a few years ago, and I do understand that times have changed and things are different now than before, some things have become more acceptable than others.
The things I don't understand about DiC were the pointless name changes. Why bother swtiching "Kunzite" to "Malachite"? Why bother switching "Princess Serenity" to "Princess Serena"? I also don't like the name choices they used. I understand where Serena came from, as well as Raye, Amy and Mina. But how did they possibly come up with "Darien" or "Lita"? I really don't like those names, (no offense if it happens to be yours) they just don't fit the characters.
DiC, I also noticed, has problems with consistency. They did change the Silver Millennium names to "Princess Serena" and "Prince Darien" [instead of Endymion], yet I did catch that at some points they referred to "Princess Serenity." And in the "17 new episodes" Neo-Queen Serenity was still Neo-Queen Serenity, not Serena.
I borrowed my friend's copy of the Sailor Moon R movie dubbed by DiC, and I have to say that I was horrified by the ending. In the end, when Sailor Moon is sacrificing her life again for the sake of the rest of the world, she turns back to the others and promises that it will be okay, and that everything will be all right. Instead, in the dub, she turns back and says, "Don't worry. Why have the Silver Crystal if, like, I'm not supposed to use it?" or something along those lines in which she sounded like an idiot.
One other and final thing I wish to discuss is their need for cutting out violence that's not violent. In one episode, Raye is supposed to slap Serena, to get her back into her senses. Obviously they found this inappropriate and cut it out. One that really bothers me, however, is how they changed the last episode of the first season. In the end, all of the senshi died. Instead, in the dub, they were "kidnapped by the Negaverse." I do not understand why they chose to change this, because the whole point of the ending was that Sailor Moon and the rest of the senshi risked their lives for the sake of human kind and the planet. What's so violent about that?

So, as you can see, these are my points (not all of them, though) as to why I dislike DiC. Of course, I do at least give them credit for bringing Sailor Moon to America.

Mixx

I like Mixx much better than I do DiC, but there still are some slight problems with them that I can see. Mixx was required to use the DiC names, because DiC had the rights to it. Therefore, I don't blame them for the name thing. They did, however, keep the names of the Outer Senshi intact, which I applaude them for. They also got around using "Serena" by using "Bunny" and names in the Silver Millennium like "Endymion" and "Serenity" are the same.
By using "Bunny," however, Usagi's nickname "Usako" had to be changed. Since they used Bunny, Darien calls her "Buns" as her nickname. As I see it, that's just not right. They also used the term "morph" when they transform, although I think they dropped that and went back to transform in the SuperS tankubon.  A couple times I have seen that Mixx has tried to Americanize the story. At one point, Umino (Melvin) says something about an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. Rei also says something about not liking TV, but the one show she does like is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. No, that's just wrong.
I have also notced minor editing errors. In one tankubon (book) they had something about "Serena not being able to use fog or fire attacks, like Ray and Lita." For one thing, Amy has the fog attacks, not Lita. Second, Rei's American name is not spelled like that.
There are also other spelling mistakes along the line, like "Sne" instead of "She." These problems could be fixed by minor editing.
