EVA: A World Twisted
Chapter 6
Twisted Vacation
Shinji wasn’t sure how he got there, but he found himself
in the Eva-01, alone in a city. The buildings were charred
and in ruin.
He moved his Eva through the dead city.
then a voice called out faintly
"Shinji"
Shinji looked around for the voice that seemed to come from everywhere
"My son." the voice called again
"Mother?" he asked quietly
"You must beware, my son
Beware the wielders of the blood swords"
On a near by rooftop Shinji saw two shadow figures standing there,
each with a sword made of flowing blood
Then a larger figure appeared behind them
"You must beware your father"
"Father?"
"He is evil Shinji but he does not
know of the true evil"
"True evil?"
Suddenly the ground began to shake.
A huge swirling black fog-like mass
erupted from the ground
Shinji withdrew his prog knife for battle
The dark shape attacked, swirling around the Eva
Then it began to crush it
The last thing Shinji saw was the walls
of the entry plug crushing in on him
the last thing he heard was his mother calling
faintly
"Beware of.....Solanos"
Shinji woke up with a shout
He breath came in ragged gasps
Beside him Rei woke up and look at him
"Something wrong Shinji-chan?" she asked quietly
"A nightmare." he replied
"Having sex with Asuka?" asked Rei
Shinji looked at his girlfriend
she had a mischievous smile
"That’s cruel’ he said jokingly
"No way" Rei protested
"I can just picture her with leather, whips and handcuffs
I feel sorry for Anthony"
"Rei" Shinji said with a sigh
‘Or maybe it was about me and Misato"
Rei said with a more seductive tone
"Maybe we were calling you for some three way fun
but at the worst possible moment and Angel attacked"
Shinji opened his mouth to comment but Rei continued
"Cause don’t tell me it hasn’t crossed you mind"
"Uh, well" stuttered Shinji
Rei moved closer and whispered
"Cause it’s crossed mine."
Blood trickled down Shinji’s nose
His eyes went as wide as diner plates
"And I’ll bet it crossed Misato’s"
Shinji looked at her
"Probably"
‘Well, I’ll just have to suggest it to her"
said Rei
Shinji rolled his eyes. In doing so he caught the time on the
night stand alarm clock
"Oh shit! It’s 8:30 we should have been at breakfast
half and hour ago!" exclaimed Shinji
The two jumped out of bed
after taking a short but interesting shower they arrived in the galley
for breakfast
"Well, well, well two of the sex fiends finally show up" said Misato
Glancing around Rei noticed that Anthony and Asuka were still missing
Rei whispered to Hikari "Where’s Asuka"
"She and Anthony haven’t shown up yet. Probably still sleeping"
"Or they’re simple preoccupied" said Kensuke smiling
As if on cue he missing couple came running in.
"Sorry we’re late" said Anthony
"We over slept" said Asuka
"Together huh?" asked Misato with a smile
"Couldn’t help it. Rei kicked Anthony out of his room.
You know, the one he was sharing with Shinji"
"And what was Rei doing in Shinji’s room?" asked Misato
"Getting some fun. What else?" answered Rei
"I can’t believe my roommates are engage in such improper
behavior" said Misato
The children look at her as if she was crazy
The Anthony said
"We learned from the best. You’re a model guardian "
That comment brought a laugh from the whole
table including Kaji and Ritsuko
"What was that Mr. Draven?" asked Misato dangerously
"Uhhh, nothing insulting" said Anthony who knew better
that to make Misato angry.
"Good. Now, we’ll be landing in America in a few hours
so make sure you have all your luggage together. You’re free till
them. And guys, No naughty stuff."
moans and groans came from the children as they left the room
" Hear that Misato? You’re a ‘model guardian’" said Kaji
Misato turned to him
"Aww shut up"
Few hours later the girls were on the upper deck watching as the boat
approached land
‘There it is" said Myna
"America"
"Land of the free and weird, according to Anthony" said Asuka
"Weird?" asked Hikari
"Anthony says there are a lot of really strange people here"
"Well, he’d be the one to know" said Rei
"You trying to suggest something" asked Asuka
"No not at all. I just figured since he was born here"
"Good." Asuka turned to Rei
"Rei? Shinji looked whipped this morning. Trying something new?"
Asuka asked with a smile
"Up yours Second Child! I’ll bet Anthony has handcuff marks on his wrists"
countered Rei
"On that note, Hikari, you should really try to keep it down"
I could hear you in our room" said Myna
Hikari turned red
Rei smiled "Toji does good work?"
"Wouldn’t you like to know" said Hikari
"And the verdict on Kensuke?" asked Asuka
"None of your damn business" said Myna
"Must be good cause Anthony and I heard moaning last night"
"I think that was Misato" said Rei
"LOOK!" shouted Hikari
The cruise ship entered the harbor and the girls got their first look at the city
and it was impressive. Tokyo-3 had impressive capabilities but looked like typical
city. New LA looked anything but a typical city Spiral towers dotted the scene
the huge carvings were atop most of the otherwise average looking buildings
In the middle of the harbor was a statue of a lady holding a torch.
"The Statue of Liberty" a voice called from behind them
The girls turned to see their boys come up.
"The only thing of the original NY to survive Second Impact"
said Anthony
"Wow, this place is incredible" said Myna
"After the impact the artists took over to re-design this city. They wanted
to make of a work of art as well as a city. People flocked here, soon LA took the role
of the original New York. A place where immigrants come in. This city is the biggest
melting pot in the world. There are beautiful sculptures here. But be careful, as pretty
as this place is, it is also very dangerous when it gets dark.
There are few anti-gun laws so a lot of people are
armed so watch yourself. Shinji keep your lightsaber on
you at all times at night and set just below lethal"
The boat pulled in to the harbor and soon the NERV crew were in the hotel The Maracroft
"This place is awesome" said Toji
"Expensive too" said Anthony
"I’m glad NERV is picking up the tab for this"
"I wouldn’t worry about the bill. NERV owns this place" said Ritsuko
‘What?" asked Asuka
"NERV owns several legitimate business all over the world"
Misato looked around
"How about we get check in, then you children can go to the mall
across the street’
"Shopping!" exclaimed Hikari
"Shopping." Toji said. less excited
Anthony pulled Toji aside
"Don’t worry man, I have a surprise for you"
he whispered
Toji looked at him and shook his head not understanding
what Anthony meant.
In their room Shinji and Anthony
were getting settled in
"This place is amazing" said Shinji as he looked around the room
"A small fridge, huge beds and a damn hot tub" he exclaimed
"Looks like NERV gave us the suites. The girls are going to have a
field day with these room" said Anthony
"Any idea what the ‘official’ sleeping arrangement is?"
asked Shinji
"Rei is bunking with Myna, Asuka and Hikari, Toji and Kensuke
Kaji and Karou, Misato and Ritsuko" said Anthony
"That’s NERV arrangement. But we have different set up
A perfect arrangement"
said Shinji
"Ya damn right." agreed Anthony
"Everyone is going have fun. except maybe Karou"
"I wouldn’t be to sure about that. Karou has his mysterious girlfriend"
"But she’s not here"
"Isn’t she? Karou said it was an older woman remembered.?"
"Yeah so?"
"One morning I puled a long hair off Karou’s shoulder. He had that
mysterious smile on his face"
"I hate to repeat, Yeah so?"
"It was a blonde hair. Get it?"
"Ritsuko?"
"Why not she seems sweet on him"
"But she was in France -2 with Misato and Kaji, the night o the
party and Karou was going to see his girlfriend"
"Misato SAID she was going to France-2. We don’t know for sure"
"Wow Ritsuko. I didn’t think he had it in him" said Shinji stunned
"Me neither. Although if I had a choice, I’d choose that cute Lieutenant."
"Maya?"
"Sure, why not"
"And what would Asuka say’ asked Shinji grinning
"She have my privates on a platter" said Anthony
‘Yeah, she would" agreed Shinji
A knock at the door interrupt them
Opening revealed Hikari
"Come on guys we’re going to the mall" she said
"Ugh, Shopping" moaned Shinji.
Anthony smiled "Don’t worry the mall isn’t that bad."
The children walked to the mall
Misato was looking out the window of
her suite. Misato watched the children from her vantage point
Her mind switch back a month to a night and a dream that she would never forget
At the start of the good times just when Rei had begun to opened up
after the battle with the 16th angel. Asuka had come out of her comma
Life was finally on the right track. The only one who felt bad was Misato
She felt as if she were some how responsible for the children’s recent condition
One night the four pilots were relaxing at their apartment
Talking laughing watching TV , just enjoy themselves
Shinji heard a soft crying. At first he though he had imagined it
Then he head it again. Shinji use the remote to mute the TV
"Shinji. What are you doing?" asked Asuka
"Shh, Listen" he said
Then all the children heard the soft crying
They got up from where they were siting and looked around
In the hall they found Misato. Sitting on the floor, she was crying
Tears ran down her checks into two wet spots on the floor
"Misato?’ whispered Anthony
"Misato what’s wrong?" asked Shinji
"I’m, I’m sorry" Misato said through the tears
"Sorry? Sorry for what?’ asked Asuka
"It’s my fault." the Tactician cried
"What is your fault" asked Rei
"Your pain." she revealed
"Every time one of you was hurt it was my fault. I sent Asuka against
the 15th Angel"
The sentences came ragged broken by tears and gasps for air .
"Rei was almost killed because of me! My attempts to boost Shinji’s
confidence caused him to get absorbed by the 12th Angel.
I put you in unnecessary risk against the 10th Angel
You probably hate me"
The children looked at each other
The same though coursing through their heads
"It all my fault" she said finally
Misato’s heart was filled with a cold sadness. She was their guardian and friend
as well as commanding officer She should be considering their welfare.
Instead she though only of her revenge against the angels.
She was no better than Ritsuko treating the children as weapons
to fight a war.
Misato was sitting there with her eyes closed, crying feeling horrible
Then she felt a pair of arms wrap around her and a body press against her
Then another set of arms and body. Then another, until she felt four sets
of arms around her and four bodies pressed against her.
Misato opened her eyes. She saw she was being embraced by all four children
A warmth began to enter her heart. While she has forgotten which child said it
she remembers clearly the words that touched her
"Misato, you have done so much for us. You’ve taken us into your home.
We would be on our own if it wasn’t for you. Misato you’ve given us a family
to replace the ones we’ve lost. You’ve saved our sanity. You’re the only
person at NERV who actually cares about us as humans and not just pilots
We could never hate you. Misato we love you. You will always be in our hearts. "
The warm feeling filled her heart. The children help Misato to her feet
then into her bedroom. They laid her down on the bed.
"Misato, please get some sleep. Remember, we love you, we always will"
Misato fell into a deep sleep. the warm feeling in her heart spread to her whole body
as Misato replayed the words over and over again
"Misato we love you. We love you. We love you."
Misato had a dream that night, one she can recall vividly
She was with all four children. A beautiful blissful act
Upon waking up Misato reflected on her dream. The sight, the sound
the feel, the scent. The dream didn’t strike her a dirty fantasy
Actually she found it to be beautiful. After everything they been through
the children loved her. Misato had always doubted Kaji. He had said he loved her
but for some reason it never seemed real.
But when the children said it
she knew it was true. Misato loved the children too. She would never allow
NERV to put them through more pain then absolutely necessary.
The love that binds the children and Misato was different from the one that
binds lovers or family members. No one was sure of what the nature
of that bond was. Misato felt that bond overcomes both age and gender
Something deep inside of her wanted to become one with each of the
Not just the two boys bit Rei and Asuka too. The idea seemed
natural to her and maybe one day, she would do it
The children had said they love her and always would.
Misato believed and would love them forever.
[ The LA Mall ]
"This place is huge" said Myna with awe
"Biggest place to lose your money in the states" said Anthony
A pretty, well built, 19yr old girl walked by them
She was wear less that Misato did at home
Shinji, Kensuke, Toji and Karou stood there with their
jaws open
The girls resorted to mild violence to snapped them out of it
Anthony whispered to Toji "Told you so"
A huge fountain of a biblical angel stood in the center of the hall
it was just one of many Angel statues scattered all over the mall
"This place has a thing about angels" said Karou
"You didn’t know? Los Angeles is Spanish for
‘The Angels’ It is often called the "City of Angels "
reveled Anthony
The children looked at him
"Not the best place for an Eva pilot" joked Kensuke
"No it isn’t" agreed Toji
"Guys never mind the damn names" said Rei
"Let’s get to the shopping"
Asuka looked over Rei’s shoulder, a store jumped out at her.
She nudged Myna and pointed to the store.
Myna smiled nodding
"OK boys. Let’s split up. We’ll meet you back here in two hours."
said Asuka.
Rei and Hikari looked at her questioningly
"I don’t know Asuka" said Shinji
"Anthony didn’t you say this place was dangerous?"
"Only at night really. That’s when all the crazies come out"
"All right, we’ll meet you at the fountain in two hours" said
Shinji
When the boys walked away Hikari turned to
Asuka
"Why did you do that?"
Asuka pointed to the store she saw
"That’s why."
The sigh above the entrance read
‘Victoria Secrets’
The other girls smiled
Rei said, "The boat was just the beginning"
‘"Charge!"
The boys were browsing around a music store
"Look at this selection" marveled Toji
Kensuke was looking at the various sections
"Rock, oldies, soundtracks, rap. Hey what’s this?"
He picked up a CD. The front was black except for a silver
picture of a magician’s face in the middle.
"Anthony. Do you know what this is?" he called
Anthony walked over and examined the CD
"Uhh, lets see. ICP, Milenko" he said to himself
then to Kensuke
"This is an old rap group called Insane Clown Posse
from before Second Impact. They dressed like clowns
One of the guys I knew in NY-2 was really big on this group
They had this thing. Some of their albums were called jokers cards
A total of six. They claimed when all six were revealed the world
would end. Ironically enough the final card was reveled the day
before Second Impact. This is the four one called ‘The Great Milenko’ "
said Anthony
"Are they any good?’ asked Kensuke
"Milenko was all right. They basically attacked
red-necks and bigots, but they were pretty foul mouthed"
A boy with short brown hair and brown eyes
passed them. He turned looked at Anthony
looked away then did a double take
"Anthony? Anthony Draven?" The boy asked
Anthony looked at him
"John? John Ritona? Holy shit!"
Anthony exclaimed
John ran over to him
"We though you were dead!" he exclaimed
"Me? I thought you were dead. didn’t that damn robot kill you?"
Anthony asked
"Robot? You mean Defender?" asked John
"Defender? That was it’s name?"
John explained
"Yeah, I was out sick. After it attacked the school anyone who didn’t
show up later was considered dead. The attendance records were
destroyed when the school was. So when you didn’t show up
afterward everyone though you were dead. "
"How did you survive the S2 explosion?" Anthony asked
"My family was on vacation when it happened. After that the
city was abandon. Now spill it. How did you survive and where
have you been for the past year?" asked John
Anthony looked at Kensuke
he spoke as if he was caught doing something he
shouldn’t have
"I’ve been in Tokyo-3 for the past year."
he admitted
"The place those monsters keep attacking?"
"Yeah."
"Did Dr. Serwan get called in to help?"
Anthony felt a stab of pain at the mention of his
adoptive father
"No, Dr., Serwan" Anthony could feel tears swelling up
in his eyes. He fought them back as he continued
"Dr. Serwan is dead. He was killed by Defender"
John looked shocked
"Anthony, I’m sorry I didn’t know but if he’s dead then
what were you doing there? You have family there?"
"I do now" Anthony whispered to himself
Then louder
"No I was called on to fight those monsters."
John’s jaw hit the floor
"You? How?"
"Remember the silver robot that stopped Defender?"
"Yeah. It disappeared after that." John said suspiciously
"Well, I was the one piloting the robot"
John’s eyes shot as wide as a pizza plate
‘Are you fucking serious?" he asked
"Yes John, I’ve been fight for the world for the past year" Anthony said
"And these guys?" John asked gesturing to he other
pilots who had gathered.
"These are the other pilots
Shinji my best friend/brother
Kensuke the computer man
Toji the resident jock
and Karou the strange one"
"Strange one? What the hell are you talking about" asked Karou
"How else would describe yourself/" asked Anthony
‘You make sound like I’m gay or something" said Karou disgusted
John looked over Anthony’s friends
"I’d always heard the pilots were really hot girls" he said
Anthony and the others smiled
‘There are. This is only half of our team. There are four
young ladies who are also pilots."
"They hot?" asked John
‘They are the most beautiful young ladies I have ever met"
said Anthony with a smile
"So. Anthony got himself a little clique?
John said with a smile
"I’m through a party next week. You’re all invited"
"Next week? That’s the last night we’re here" said Shinji
"We have to check with our commanding officer
but I think we can swing it, but she may want to come too."
John shrank back
"I plan to have a wild party, with beer. I don’t think..."
Shinji interrupted him
"You don’t know Misato."
Anthony looked at John
"Trust us, she’ll be a cool addition to the party"
"If you’re sure" said John
"I just can’t get over the change. Look at you!
I’ve never seen you so confident or open."
Anthony said solemnly
"War changes a man"
He held the solemn look for about three seconds
before the smile returned.
"We’ll see you in a week, here’s our number
call us with the address and the time."
"Right. and Anthony, glad to see you’re still alive"
"Yeah, you too John."
John then went his own way leaving his
found again friend.
"It’s time to met the girls" said Toji
The boys walked out of the music story and stared
towards the fountain
They passed a table that was set up for recruiting Volunteer
Jr. Firefighters. A boy, tall for his age was sitting behind the table
When he saw Anthony he called out
"Well, well, well,. Look who finally decided to appear"
Anthony looked at the kid
‘Oh shit! Matt Timcsh. " moan Anthony
"I see you finally got some friends. What a bunch of pansies"
he said nastily
Toji looked Matt then asked Anthony
"Who the fuck is this guy?" he asked angrily
"Matt Timcsh, A guy from my old school. Real bastard.
Has an ego the size of an Eva" Anthony said with a sigh
"Watch what you say, you fucking idiot!" Matt snapped
"His father was a lab technician who worked with Dr. Serwan on
the Evas" Anthony explained
"Shut up! You’re not suppose to talk about classified material"
Matt said angrily
"Matt. lose you damn attitude! It pissing me off" Anthony said
annoyed
"Listen you little wuss. I’m a Jr. Fireman. You gotta be
tough to do this job. You and your little pansy friends
don’t have the guts to do it."
The children looked at the boy angrily
The other boys could see why Anthony
disliked this guy. He was a real prick.
"I’m tough. I give up my time to..."
"Matt! You’re a goddamn ass kisser
and traffic director. THAT’S ALL YOU ARE
Now lose your fucking superiority complex!"
Anthony said angrily
Matt looked at him with an angry look
Before he could talk Anthony continued
"You talk about how damn tough you are
Well I got news for you, you dumb ass,
we do a lot more"
"Yeah? What the fuck to you do?"
"You’ve head of the war in Japan against
those monsters?"
"Let me guess you’re Jr. Eva pilots"
Matt sneered
"No, you asshole, we ARE the pilots. The original
and the only. So take your Jr. Fire Fighter badge
and shove it up your ass!" said Toji
‘Bullshit!" Matt exploded
"Those pilots are tough, they’ve been through hell
You guys are soft. You have perfect lives no pain. no
problems. So go fuck yourselves"
That was all the boys could stand. They left the recruiting
table but not before they broke it in half using Matt to do it.
"What a goddamn idiot" muttered Shinji
[ Some where beneath NY-2]
Dr. Aista picked up the phone and dialed a
memorized number
"Yes?" the voice answered
"Ikari everything is ready for tomorrow"
"Good. And what of the seismic tremors?"
"Nothing to worry about"
‘Will Major Katsuragi and Dr. Akagi notice anything after
the event?"
"No Commander"
"Excellent. I’ll expect a full report
on the disposal tomorrow evening"
"Yes Commander"
The doctor hung up the phone
then turn to nine figures
standing in the shadows
"Tomorrow is the day. The day you will
take your proper place. After you dispose of them."
Two figures steppe forward
"Just remember" one said
"Ikari and Draven are ours"
"Of course." said Dr. Aista
"You may deal with them as you see fit
but don’t play too long."
The two figures smiled
at each of their sides hung a silver
cylinder.
[The Hotel Maracroft ]
Anthony’s room
Asuka and Anthony were in the hot tub with bubble
surging around them. Asuka was sitting on his lap.
Anthony had his arms around her. On the floor
near one of the large beds was Asuka’s purchase from
this afternoon. A small, thin black nighttie that had not
gone unappreciated.
"You know, some people wear bathing suits when like this"
said Anthony jokingly
"Why? That defeats the purpose. You Americans are so weird"
said Asuka simply
"I met an old friend today. He invited us to a party.
It’s on the last night we’re here. I cleared it with Misato"
"Sounds like fun" said Asuka smiling
Anthony’s tone turned serious
"Tomorrow is the day I warned you about.
Tomorrow we go to NY-2. Misato feels it better
if we all go"
Asuka looked at her boyfriend. She was not looking forward to
tomorrow. She didn’t want to see what would happened to Anthony
in the place that was the source of his pain.
"Well, if tomorrow is going to be a day of sadness then we have to
work extra hard to make tonight pleasurable." Asuka said smiling
"I was hoping you’d said that" Anthony said
The couple kissed. They sank deeper into the tub
up to theri necks as the bubbles gurgled all around
End Chapter 6
First of all I want to apologize to anyone I offended with
the confrontation between the pilot and the Jr. Firefighter
It was in no way meant to offend or insult anyone. I did
it because Matt Timcsh is based on a guy I knew. The guy acted just
like Matt does. He has a superior attitude. He feels because he’s
head of the Jr. Firefighter of his town that he’s more important than
anyone else including our teachers. he pissed a lot of people off.
I asked a guy exactly what the Jr. Firefighters did. At least in his
town it means he’s a traffic director and an ass-kisser
so please don’t be insulted
OK now the fun stops and the action begins
Next we find out the secret of C-project
and just who the hell is Solanos?
