He is one of the leading dinosaur palaeontologist in the world. He had travelled around the world studying dinosaurs fossils in differect areas. His major discovery is the skeleton of the carnivorous Herrerasaurusm, which was at the time the oldest and most primitive dinosaur ever found. The collection fossils he found are considered as great importance in studying how dinosaur originated and developed.

Sereno is also one of the leading researchers into dinosaur classification, or how dinosaurs are related to each other and to animals that came before and developed after. He has published many papers and articles that reflects his theories to the questions of the dinosaur evolution.

Evidences of Dinosaurs' Existence

Fossils, preserved remains of dead animals and plants once lived hundreds or millions years ago, are the main evidence that proved the dinosaurs once lived on the earth. Paeleontogists had discovered skeletons, eggs, footprints, and the bones are often found in fragments. These dinosaurs fossils can tell us how the extinct animals behave and evolute through time.

Dating of Fossils

Scientists has used various methods in dating fossils, for example methods using radioactivity has been developed in the 20th century which gave a more accurate data than any methods used before.

It is important for the scientists to be able to identify the age of the dinosaurs' fossils that help the paeleontologists to draw a geologic timeline of the Mesozic era. Furthermore, the scientists can discovered any events happened in the historic past that lead to the extinction and evolution of the dinosaurs.
